i see what your saying, and i'm hooked on my COD4 too... but this game has 50 player online, all kinds of vehicles (tanks, helicopters, jets, etc), remote control devices, maps that from what I read in the reviews are MUCH bigger than anything seen on COD4, and a dedicated server.
it just seems to offer alot of stuff that COD4 doesn't offer and any COD4 fan IMO should at least be wanting to give it a try.
worth a rental. me and a couple of friends are going to blockbuster fri (thats when blockbuster gets it) and we'll give it a rent.
i'm reading mixed reviews, but the one thing that seems consistent in the reviews is that the multiplayer is awesome. So, its definitely worth my rental, and if i get hooked, i'll just keep it and pay the price (which is what i usually do with games i'm not sure of)

and the 360 isn't about variety?
360 has more RPG than ps3 (used to be PS's stengths)
360 has more shooters than ps3
360 has more strategy games than ps3
360 has more quality action/hack and slash games (too human, NG2)
360 will now have more casual due to arcade games and XNA

everytime the topic of HOME comes up, it just amazes me how many of you sonyfans are loking forward to it. I mean, do you really want to be running around in a virtual world, hangin with your virtual friends, and decorating your virtual apartments? I can see the appeal of this to a 10 year old, but i thought we were all grown ups on this site.
wouldn't you guys just want to turn your ps3 on, look at your friend list to see who is playing what, and then just start playing a game...
what you dont realize is that M$ is in it for the long haul.
They got deep pockets, they are smart guys that wont be making the same mistakes and there will be a next console with awesome exclusives that wont be found on the ps4, just like this console.
For that reason, gamers will buy the next console, for the games. there will be more Halo's and more Gears, my two fav IPs.

gears multiplayer is addicting as hell, its the only game that actually affected me personally when losing, although i'll never admit it online. i think its because of the 4 on 4 with no respawns.
i remember playing this game when i was a kid... reminded me so much of Mario. Its probably the one game that comes closest to the gameplay of Mario.
Anyways...really looking forward to it, and HOPEFULLY Rare wont f--- it up. They gotta redeem themselves after Viva Pinata and Perfect Dark Zero.
either way you want to look at it, they had to rush it out ahead of ps3. and for all intent purposes, their plan worked.
you do realize the 360 is going into this gen race against the past 2 gen leader, Sony. And when there is a difference of 100 millions consoles in last console race, getting to the market first was their only option.
do you really think the 360 would have stood a chance against ps3 is they would have released on same day? hell no.

@ Anego Montoya FTMFW still not for the masses. history has taught everyone that the MAJORITY of systems in every past console gen have been sold at $199. And that is the sweet spot for the "masses" and the 360 should be reaching that price point way before ps3 does.

another blow to the ps3. first i read today about lost planet being garbage compared to the vastly superior visuals and smooth framerate on 360 and now another game that runs better on 360.
it doens't matter what you ps3fanboys tell yourself. the fact is, if the ps3 is so powerful, it should be able to handle ports from the supposed inferior 360 with no problem. Same way last gen, ports from ps2 to xbox were always improved.
its funny to hear how many ps3 owners dont care or want this game now because its a left over, or it could be found on pc, etc. etc.
but what about oblivion? the dev bumped up the textures and you guys couldn't stop ranting on about the "power of the cell" and how this will be the norm in th future. Oblivion was on PC and a port from 360, yet to this day people still bring it up on how it looked better on PS3.

as far as multiplat games go, this one and star wars are top of my list.
i dont think its too expensive.
i own a 360, and controllers are usually about $40 bucks, so for an extra $15 your getting a controller with rumber and some motion in it. Now I consider that a next gen controller.
too bad it wasn't released like that one day one, so to add another $110 for a couple of controllers on top of what some people paid for their ps3 ($599, $499, $399) could seem very expensive to most people.

Its like your this is a rematch of a heavyweight championship title fight, with Gear2 (past GOTY that amazed everyone when it first came out) against past chump that got knocked out in the first round last time they fought. In other words, Re2 is the underdog, and you should consider it an HONOR that its being compared to GEARS 2 after that first humiliating defeat.
why not list games where the difference is actually noticeable, like in recent games like Lost Planet, Conflict Denied Ops and then there are Orange Box, FEAR, Splinter Cell, Madden.... the list goes on and on.
Always HUGE differences in framerate and graphics. Someone should actually have a list of all multi-plat games to date and THEN compare so that we can see the COLD HARD TRUTH
