One of the biggest sources of negativity for the pro so far has been how limited its value is for 1080p tv owners. This perception has definitely cost Sony a lot of sales.

I think its clear that if boost mode had been there in a stable working form from the start the pro would have had a much more positive and better received launch.

No one will agree with me I know but if Microsoft released the Xbox as a pc app and moved the whole existing and future libraries onto it so that you could on your pc fire up an Xbox dashboard and run games at pc level graphics and a full universal achievements system and with a console style ecosystem..well I'd be very happy with that.

It should counter it by doing the same thing basically. Microsoft will have the same issue regarding frame rate caps as Sony. If a game was built for 30fps it'll need a patch to go above but at the least the hardware should allow the game to hit it target frame rate

Add to that the fact that if you absolutely must play Tempo the badass elephant on you pro you can simply unticknthe boost mode box to avoid the issues

I'd say this is a fuss over nothing.

It may well have sold better but it still has a long way to go before it can claim to have had the cultural impact on gaming that Skyrim did in its day.

Both are fantastic games, but Skyrim will be remembered as a classic epoch marking game. Fallout 4 is some way short of that status irrespective of cash made.

Fallout 4 won't benefit from boost mode as they are about to release a pro patch and patched games aren't affected by boost mode.

Fallout 4 however will get great benefit from a 4k pro patch really soon now.

Sony have confirmed that this will have no impact on patched games.

The pro and the Scorpio have created a really interesting dilema. Sony and a Microsoft are now out of sync in terms of hardware updates.

Scorpio will likely come this year but then does this mean Ps5 will then come a year before the next Xbox? If so will Microsoft be reluctant to launch another console sooner?

Will be interesting to see how future releases are timed now that the old release tradition has been broken.

I'd love to have the full games of Diablo 1 and 2 fully remastered.

I love my 'snake oil' as do many many others.

Pro isn't a revolutionary new gen upgrade and was never sold as such. What it does offer is a solid incremental mid gen upgrade and incredible amounts of performance for the price.

Not sure what else you expected?

How about a remastered pack of the first 3 games (be awesome in 4K on the pro) followed by Killzone 5?

Shame Sony have largely given up pushing the vita. The incredible sales for the 3DS over the last few years prove that handhelds still have huge potential if marketed and supported properly.
