Awful idea. When I drop £50 for a AAA game I want to the whole complete package right there on my disk. I can’t even bear day 1 patches or DLC.
That’s exactly the console I would want. A truly premium console for a truly premium experience.
The hardware didnt go far enough me. I would have been happy to pay more for a system capable of hitting 60FPS in for all base titles in 1080p or a solid minimum 30fps at 4k.
But thats just me I guess, I cant stand playing games with frame rates fluctuating all over the place. Especially when they drop below 30.
My frustration ultimately lead to get a PC which can hit 60fps at 4k in everything. For me the difference is night and day.
At this point the first out of a ps5 or series x to be available from a non-scalper gets my money.
Got email alerts for stock on both.
If your not modding then the switch makes a lot more sense if you want a handheld.
Been trying to get one for weeks now but no stock absolutely anywhere. The one thing I absolutely will not do is buy from a scalper. I would love it if Sony release a load more stock soon and leave them holding large volumes of stock they can then shift. Let them enjoy their 10 second hand consoles.
I would would prefer the black design though. Not really a fan of the 2 tone.
As an owner of an OC 2080ti this confirms what I already suspected. There isnt enough of a performance boost to justify upgrading to a 3080 and the 3090 is way too expensive for what it delivers in gaming.
Conclusion, wait for the 3080ti.
When they designed the progression system for this game they clearly would have skewed the systems to ‘encourage’ players to pay for the boost. It’s exactly the same basic principle as freemium games where not paying to access all the context is technically possible but in practice things are locked behind a huge wall of difficulty and grind.
If you don’t believe that they didn’t modify the game systems to influence players to pay for the boost then I’m sorry to say that y...
I game at 120fps regularly on pc and the difference going from 60 to about 90 is very clear.
When comparing 90 to higher such 120 or 144 etc. it’s much harder to tell.
The key factor is how close you are to the screen and how fast the camera pans. On a slower panning controller system at a distance difference 60 to 120 is small, but close up with a mouse and fast camera motion it’s a big difference
I think it more likely that the next big push will be for higher FPS rather than better resolution. I could imagine a PS5 pro aiming at 60/120fps for all titles designed to take advantage of the new generation of high refresh TVs.
Very early to discuss this point given hardly anyone has a PS5 yet. However, I do hope there is a PS5 pro in 3 years or so from now. 7/8 year console lifecycle is a hell of a long time to wait for a tech refresh so I’m happy to upgrade a bit sooner. The key thing is that the base model remains fully supported for the entire generation as was the case with the PS4.
This game has already been remastered once and surely that's enough. We would end up with a PS5 remaster of a PS4 remaster of a PS3 game. Getting silly at that point.
I’m in exactly the same boat, chasing a 144hrtz 1080 ultra system. 2080ti with 3950x doesn’t cut it that’s for sure. Waiting to see the 6900xt and possibly 3080ti before deciding whether either one tops the 3090 and then finally getting a 5950x to finish it all off. Good times.
That video is fake. 6900XT isn’t out for a month yet and I highly doubt AMD will let a you tuber post benchmarks at this stage.
I am very interested in the new AMD cards. The 3090 is extremely disappointing for the price.
I have an 2080Ti and 3950x and cant sustain 120fps at 1080p on combat evolved anniversary. You get big drops in the big outdoor areas like the beach assault level.
If the Xbox can solidly hit 120fps at 4k for the whole single player campaign then that is really impressive stuff.
Power without games is meaningless. Bring the best power and the best games and you win the generation hands down.
check out you tube benchmark videos of PC running the $1700 RTX3090 graphics card and you will see that even with current gen games you cant achieve 120FPS in all games. For next gen games where things are dialled up again you definitely wont get 4k/120fps.
If a $1700 graphics card cant do it a $299 console certainly wont.
I think it extremely unlikely PC will cover you for Sony exclusives unless you mind waiting several years for an occasional port.
I bought this game for £30 many years ago. Gave up waiting for a finished product long ago. Money in the bin really. I get they want to make something amazing etc but this situation has gone beyond ridiculous.
More jobs, more games! Good.
