When it comes to exclusives Sony easily beats all the competition and the gap between the relative offerings is widening all the time. I really cannot see Microsoft pulling ahead in this respect but I at least hope they narrow things next gen.
Having said that, while I understand why exclusives are necessary for the console makers I really hate the whole idea of them. I wish I had the choice to play any game I want on my platform of choice rather than having to bear the e...
I very rarely buy new games at full price. There are literally dozens of games on my 'to play' list so Im very happy to wait for prices to come down.
I suspect people who absolutely have to have todays releases now will still pay the the extra 10$.
I generally play when tired at the end of a long day looking for relaxation, escapism and some quiet time. The last thing I need is intense online competition. In games with no PVP having other people trampling all around me pulls me out of a story, breaks my sense of disbelief and ruins the immersion.
Luckily for me there is no sign that the single player experience is going anywhere.
Anyone spending in the region of a thousand pounds plus on a gpu in unlikely to be deterred by a hundred or so more on a new PSU.
Having said that, this would be a surprising and very annoying thing for Nvidia to do.
Why are people so annoyed and defensive that Sony are releasing games on PC? If you love these games why be annoyed at the idea of a wider audience enjoying them.
It’s as if people are afraid that by selling more games Sony will somehow decide this is a reason to make less games.
That’s one of the oddest things I’ve read on here...and that’s saying something...
It really felt like it too..
I honestly don’t understand why your post got so much negativity. Seems to me unless you act like a hysterical school girl about the new gen of tech everyone gets butt hurt.
Your point is a valid one. Computational power is all well and good but in and of itself means little unless the industry uses it to innovate. What you said about re-skinned experiences is spot on.
I remember the PS2 Xbox generation for fantastically detailed 3D environments. It t...
I’m a self confessed PS fanboy but I can see that the new Xbox has the edge on the PS5 in terms of raw power.
In the end though this generation will come down the games and particularly the exclusives rather than the power. Just like every single generation before it.
New GTX2080ti pc on order.
Now bring on the sale (illl need bargains after that GPU bill!)
The dark arts practiced by freemium games producers are a cancer on the industry.
I also think that the way freemium games aim to manipulate small children into making obscene purchases on mobiles platforms is scandalous.
They sooner this stuff is eradicated the better.
I feel the climbing has got much worse. You can pretty much just run up buildings without any skill or sense of risk. The older games used to give a fantastic sense of vertigo when climbing. I also hate the combat in the newer game’s. Just dodge and mash attack. Feels shallow and repetitive.
Id rather Sony focussed on a new handheld than PSVR.
I haven’t either...
A proper steam console might stand a chance if it launched with the entire back catalogue from steam and came as a ‘standard one build’ steam made machine...
Google glass says hello
The question all those on here knocking PlayStation should ask themselves is why PS has inspired this loyalty...it has to be for a reason right?
High prices is bad enough but the final nail in the coffin for me has been that they also give terrible customer service as well.
No bad thing to see them trying some new things.
Hope it’s good
Bought this game full price when new and really regretted it. I found it to be a shallow one trick pony of a game that quickly got stale, repetitive and dull.
I am tempted to dip back in as there have been a lot of updates. I wonder if the gameworld has more true variety, life and some semblance of a decent plot these days.
