The question is whether or not they receive time and a half or double time. I don't know how it works in Poland, but in the states if you are a part-time contract worker (as most entry level developers are), they can avoid federal regulations in that regard.
While I'm sure salaries aren't cheap, you are lying to yourself if you think these mutli-million dollar companies can't give that extra incentive. I wouldn't be surprised if Cyberpunk hasn't al...
That 88 is only the critical score on XBOX, probably due to the lack of titles on the console overall. Check out those user reviews. 6.5 and that was back in 2015 before review bombing really took off.
Agreed. Bethesda is too buggy for a console anyway. Wait six months for some unofficial mods and patches to clean up the mess and catch the game on sale for 20 bucks, hopefully on GOG by then. Save the heavy duty games for a high performance system like PS5.
AA is probably a bit generous to be honest. Obsidian was a AA studio when it made Fallout New Vegas and that game was so much better than anything Bethesda made that they had to cheat to get the metacritic score down on their own product.
Pretty much. ID and Arkane. Unfortunately, Arkane makes great games that don’t make much money.
Can’t wait to see what kind of cartoony multiplayer Survival game Arkane has to cook up for game pass. Maybe instead of Honey I shrunk the kids it could be something in the Karate Kid universe.
Although I complain about Microsoft on here a lot, EA would have been a hundred times worse. I strongly suspect Microsoft will continue to monetize Bethesda titles, but hopefully they won’t be as lazy and entitled as EA when they do it. The last thing we need is an annual release of multiplayer Fallout with minor reskins.
Hell yeah! Fable, Fable 2, Scalebound... Fable 3...
They are definitely the king of RPGs. Nothing could possibly go wrong.
Exactly. I know GamePass has good value right now, but it won’t once they’ve cornered the market.
I find it really suspicious that they bought up so many rpg devs. RPGs are incredibly risky investments, but they tend to offer the best experiences in gaming when they are done right. Microsoft is the most risk averse company I’ve ever seen. I can’t see this working out in the long term.
This company just wants cash in on the Fortnite crowd. They don’t have ...
This person isn't a consumer. He is an author hired by Microsoft to normalize the transition to game pass. Why else would a million of these damn things pop up every time Microsoft has some big news to announce.
Well, its software so I'm fairly sure that its past and present were digital as well.
While they're at it, might as well grab nintendo. I wonder how profitable it would be to run 100s of studios with 10s of 1000s of employees with the only profits coming in the form of a 15 dollar per month subscription fee. Oh right, microtransactions.
Let's hope they don't ruin the entire industry. I like the idea of a company beating its competition fair and square instead of just buying it. Seems like that would be good for everyone.
I don't see why people are so angry about the upgrades. You can play the PS4 game on the new system if you own it. Sony has already confirmed that resolution and framerate will improve when you do. Any "upgrade" you choose to purchase is effectively a remaster with improvements added by the developer. Now, I do understand that not every remaster is worth it, but that's what a review is for - to tell you if its worth spending money on.
It's nice when a ...
Or before yesterday
It's gonna be hilarious when all these fools who are bragging about their pre-orders end up getting delayed for months anyway due to supply shortages or retailer error.
Isn't it great that you can get downvoted on this site for hoping that people don't get taken advantage of by scalpers. Really shows you what kind of urchins lurk around here.
If they could somehow acquire From Software, they could hold news Souls games for ransom. Perhaps they could even strike a deal with MS to allow Elder Scrolls on Playstation in exchange for Bloodborne on GamePass.
I don't think they need to acquire a Japanese Studio at all quite honestly. They seem to have a pretty solid advantage in that market already. I would go after some of the promising European indie developers. There are plenty that seem to be just one big hit away from becoming the next CD Projekt Red. Imagine if Bloober expanded for instance and started creating titles with actual game play.
At the end of the day if it’s boring and shoddy even “free” is too expensive.
I’m worried about the future of Western RPGs in general quite honestly, but that’s been a concern for 20 years now and we still get a decent one every five years or so.
I don’t think Sony should go out and try to buy something. It would be nice to see one of their studios work on a serious rpg to contend with Obsidian. If they do, then we get twice the number of good RPGs and I get two new consoles instead of one. Everybody wins.
