Cool story, bro

It's legit, odd move for Stardock too though given how Demigod was notorious for how much it was pirated and Elemental likely didn't do very well either given the reviews/controversy.

It seems like Impulse was their big income source, will be interesting to see how things turn out for them. I do hope Gamestop will keep the DRM model Impulse has in place though (informing users of the DRM ahead of time, not having any default DRM, etc).

Yes but you also get to keep 10 DRM free songs at the end of each month and I think you can also download songs instead of streaming them. From what I can tell, Music Unlimited only allows you to stream.

And no Kinectanigga, the Zune stuff is simply rumors, further you've heard wrong since the rumors had to do with hardware, not software.

I thought that as well, the first thing that popped to mind was Project Witches. I remember that game being announced a few years back, only a few screenshots were released, controversy erupted, and then the game went silent.

Edit: On their Youtube page it seems they've uploaded these late last year.

Agreed, working on a shipped Call of Duty title is a big deal in the industry and an excellent franchise to add to the resume. It's the equivalent of having 10 bubbles on N4G, no one can touch you!

Potential benefits,

- Less compression
- A three disc game can become a two disc game
- A two disc game might be able to fit onto one disc
- More space for assets on the disc (video, audio, etc)

Game length generally isn't related to space as much as some are lead to believe. You can have huge textures on your disc but it'll still be limited to what the engine and hardware can handle in terms of size.

A game li...

Don't expect to get anything if your 360 breaks though, the TOS state the beta should be used for secondary consoles if possible in case there is an issue.

Have you played the Socom PSP games they made? They were pretty good considering the hardware limitations.

^^^That is ridiculous, you're still "stealing" assets, compiled code, etc. They call them intangible assets and the patent/trademark industry goes after people who abuse them on a regular basis.

No matter how you try to justify it, theft is theft, your logic is flawed.

"then make good games worth stealing period..."

Wtf? I assume you are trying to say make a game that is too good to steal well that's bull. Remember...

Is there a CD Key involved? Then that counts as stealing. Even if you buy the game digitally, you aren't really paying for the game but the key to play it.

This is perhaps one of the worst justifications I've ever heard for piracy.

What did they do to the console versions that made them so hideous in your eyes?

MDK was made by Interplay via their Shiny studio. MDK2 was made by BioWare but still published by Interplay (I assume they had some sort of a development role as well as do most publisher/developer relations).

Coincidently, Beamdog was started by ex BioWare devs, specifically the cofounder/MDK2 team! The ex MDK team from Shiny founded a studio called Planet Moon but they've been going through some major layoffs recently. :(

Brutus from Brute Force would be a good character IMO.

I can see how hearing his voice in so many games can turn people off if they remember him for a role but play Alpha Protocol, you can barely recognize it's Nolan North as the main character. It goes to show North has a wide range as an actor, but most devs want him to "play Drake".

Don King's Prizefighter had a pretty dramatic singleplayer as well, even dealing with sports controversies such as boxers dying in the ring, bribes, and I think even glove mods. I can understand the graphics complaints people had but I think the gameplay was harshly targeted for not being a sim.

Firstly, there is no evidence to show where this project was canceled, it could have been a Rare decision to cancel the prototype or it could have been Microsoft's.

Secondly, it's a good thing Perfect Dark Core was canceled in my opinion since the project morphed to a point where it was Perfect Dark in name only, heck, even the protagonists changed!

So yes, it was a good decision because if it was green lit the fans most likely would have hated it.

When you say,

"This game was average, Frontline was a multi-platform and then went 360 exclusive and ended up sucking."

It implies a sequel is present somewhere in what you are trying to say.

Play Company of Heroes, Red Faction, UFC, etc for good THQ titles.

A non Joanna Dark Perfect Dark? Mechs? Hmm, not sure how I feel about that. It seems to have been Perfect Dark in name only from everything that the video says, perhaps the cancellation was for the better then?

I'd like to see a new Perfect Dark game from Rare and I doubt the entire studio is dedicated to Kinect titles. With the recent news that Rare's future could be tied to Kinect Sports 2, I hope some serious restructuring is done to ensure these type of titles can...

Some games like Halo 3/ODST won't load faster if they already cache their data to the HDD's caching area (basically the 7 GB or so that are reserved for the system on the 360). If you install those games to the HDD they end up loading slower because they are essentially doing the same thing twice.
