That doesn't mean the hardware can't support it (the title which doesn't follow N4G guidelines states it can), Halo: Reach already supports basic tessellation for water effects.

Would be interesting to see what developers can do with it beyond water effects though.
Yeah its been known for a while but developers really haven't been able to make use of it for multiple reasons. There were rumors that Bungie may have "cracked the code" in a sense with Halo: Reach but I never followed up on that, I think it was only for the water though.
Labs sounds like it could be some sort of research based thing, a bit like Folding@Home.

It's a shared system, Xbox Live's selling point is the social interaction it gives where a user on one platform can interact with another in multiple ways. If the systems were locked down that interaction would automatically be removed.
Steam isn't that widely used (if at all) on consoles nor is it syncing data to a single source like Live is.
Games for Windows Live is free...
It's called the Games for Windows Marketplace and Microsoft has a game on sale every week, they call it the Deal of the Week. Sometimes they have week long promotions where there are different titles on sale each day of the week. Remember Age of Empires III Collection for $0.10?
What people need to realize is that these are simply stores in the grand scheme of things. Shop around, one service could have a game for cheaper or give you more for your purchase. For example,...
Games for Windows Live isn't a digital distribution service, it's a gaming service. Games for Windows Marketplace is the store...
Why not give your kids their own gamertag? It's most likely because the infastructure simply can't process all that info. If someone checks your gamertag, what game would you be playing, the one on the PC, or the one on the 360? Further, what if voice chat and all those other services are being used?
Interesting that 2K isn't sending out review copies, Visual Concepts has really turned the series around last year (not perfect but it's an improvement) and from the demo it looks like 2K11 is keeping with that tradition.
In regards to servers not being turned on, most reviewers should be smart about that (some are). If the higher ups won't let you wait it out then dock the game for it, no use "estimating" the score based off what the multiplayer could...
Fail, this article doesn't even go into any of the old Fallout tiles.
I'm not one of those traditional elitist Fallout players but to say "this is what Fallout is about" and only mention Fallout 3 and New Vegas while barely acknowledging 1, 2, and Tactics is stupid.
I don't think we will hear anything from it at this years E3. Kinect seems to be selling well for Microsoft so far, why would they sacrifice sales at such a pivotal moment for themselves by announcing a new console this early?
On PC Microsoft has their own digital store as does Sony, why would they go through Steam when they want people to use their own services? Also, Steam isn't the only digital distributor to hold sales you know...
Microsoft is making a ton of money with consoles, why would they give it up to go back to PC for gaming? Joe Consumer likely won't be hooking up their PC to a TV so they can stream their movies, but they might be able to if they can connect application A on ...
Just use a gamepad for PC games, most of them support the 360 gamepad natively and for everything else there is Xpadder and similar services. For some reason, I can't play FPS's with a mouse and keyboard very well anymore but all other genre's are a-ok.
Microsoft and Blu Ray aren't that outrages, with Blu Ray films Microsoft is making royalties anyway if the release is using the VC-1 codec. Further, Sony and Microsoft have a pretty good relationship working ...
I think we can get at least two years out of current generation consoles before a successor is on the horizon.
Kinda weird being at this stage though knowing just a few years ago quite a few people were saying we'd start seeing new consoles around 2012!
GTA is a guaranteed multi million unit seller, Agent is untested, I highly doubt they would put a GTA game on the back burner for an exclusive new IP.
YodaCracker: Technically the expansions count as "new additions" to the GTA universe. They're kind of like mini version of San Andreas or Vice City, while not full GTA games they were still GTA games.
The inclusion of better textures for a PC release should have no impact on consoles. It's almost a day and date patch here, not something that came out a week or two after.
The US isn't atheist or secular, it was originally but the church and the state have merged since then. The anthem was even changed in the 50s to add religion to it IIRC.
Disclaimer: I'm religious myself to a certain extent and I don't have a problem with any other group be they religious or not. I think everyone should have the right to practice their beliefs (or lack of if that's the case) with a certain degree of tolerance (it's impossible to go 100% ...
Issues are mostly just down to AA and shadows from the looks of it. Won't be a huge issue as long as the core Baseball mechanics are the same across all platforms.
Props to Visual Concepts/2K for really turning the series around last year and continuing with it. The demo was pretty fun but it had some minor issues.
Hope it sells well for them this time though since they really deserve it, 2K10 was largely overlooked despite being the best (and good on...
Nope, its been known for a while, the issue was primarily with taking advantage of it. I think the only 360 game that supports tessellation is Halo: Reach but only for the water.
