Since Remedy claimed their facial tech in the first game would raise the bar...
I highly doubt you've even played Alan Wake so your opinion doesn't matter much anyway.
Or pretty much any other f2p MMO ever made be it on PC or console...
Funny since Minecraft was based on another game called Infiniminer.
As previously stated, PSN is free so it's not that different from regular games, you can charge a fee or not, it doesn't matter. With Xbox Live, you wouldn't need Gold to access the F2P games from what I can tell so even Silver users can take part.
And that's the difference.
No, PSN is free but XBL Gold is not. Basically what this would do is give developers the ability to release free to play titles on the service provided they have in game transactions.
From the story, Joy Ride was supposed to do this originally but I don't remember the specifics.
The "freemium" method is really popular on PC, it's a billion dollar industry on its own with MMO games, its been around for a while but its only gotten REALLY big i...
That's what broke your suspension of disbelief hunh? ;)
Xboxmerc: Yep but she could also walk around normally. In the main hub world you also had a horse.
Kameo was a great game but it certainly wasn't hardcore in the vein of games like Halo, Killzone, Perfect Dark, etc.
perfectCarbonara: Do you even know what shovelware is? People keep throwing around that term this generation but most don't even know what it means.
Shovelware is crappy software that was created or ported with little though in mind. Kinect Sports is not this at all, the reviews, playability, etc reflect that.
Want shov...
Only on N4G can people take a look at character renders and decide it's a "poor Rare" situation.
Are we already forgetting PD 2 where it evolved into a mech combat game with nothing to do with the original? That project could have been canned by anyone either at Rare or Microsoft. Fans would certainly have been in an uproar if that game was announced IMO. This could have been canned for a number of reasons.
That being said, it certainly looks in...
They can't make any more NFL games because EA has an exclusivity license which means they are the only ones that can develop games with the NFL license.
They tried making a different type of Football game with All Pro Football 2K8 but it wasn't received that well by the audience since they wanted to play with real/current teams. The development costs were pretty high too since 2K had to individually sign on all of those retired players.
What the heck is up with the mentality this generation that all games need to be open world? This mentality is the reason we unfortunately lost so many developers/publishers this generation and it makes no sense.
News flash, not all games will work well with an open world setting. Alan Wake, Crysis 2, Killzone 2/3, Heavy Rain, etc would be terrible cinematic experiences if that were the case. On the other hand, games like Crysis, Halo 3: ODST, Red Faction, Just Cause 2, etc w...
They only did some co-development work on the F.E.A.R. expansions but F.E.A.R. 3 is their first big step in the franchise. The other games were done by Monolith and Timegate Studios.
There's an upcoming MechWarrior game for PC and 360 coming out by Piranha (MechAssault was based off that universe). You can buy Crimson Skies on the 360 via Xbox Originals but that's about it for the time being.
radphil: You're confusing what I said. Indie games essentially means "garage games" where you have a small team of hobbyists making games of various types.
I'm not talking about studios providing that kind of stuff internally, I'm talking about a publisher. Generally most Indie games don't have that luxury and Minecraft added those resources after the game released/got big.
Day 1 Studios hasn't been shut down, they are an independent developer infact. They're working on F.E.A.R. 3 right now (they did some of the expansions before). They also did Fracture which I liked.
^^^
If Microsoft or Sony publishes your game, I don't think you can call it Indie anymore since they provide Q&A, marketing, etc which most self published games don't have.
I'd consider games like Minecraft indie, not Super Meat Boy.
You can't really compare Steam to XBLA or PSN since one is pretty much just a store while the other is a store and the only access you have to the console if you go that route. Valve has no obligation ...
Wait, didn't Team Meat say the $10 release price was a tribute for the fans?
So regardless of who set the price, it was still a PR win for them.
It depends on how well they sell on a store to store basis. Some Gamestop/EB stores I go to have a very limited PC games selection since the store managers don't order very many PC games. Why? They don't sell well for them.
There have been occasions where I've walked into a store and noticed a really big selection of PC games since they sell well at that location and store management makes sure they cater to that demographic.
That means he bought a new console 35 times?
Reading helps,
"Only recently, as a result of publicity surrounding the 20th Anniversary of the 'Madden' videogame did Antonick become aware that Electronic Arts did not independently develop subsequent versions of its Madden NFL software," says the complaint. "Instead, according to recent statements by Electronic Arts founder Trip Hawkins, the current generation of software apparently derived from software developed by Antonick."
...
The tech sounds very impressive from that write up, it's cool how they didn't slack off the competition either but said "...we’re aiming to be here.", very humble.
