Kotor 2 was way better than the first game. The game was more mature, had various plot paths and was pretty much a different game everytime you played it. The first Kotor didn't have this depth to it. Also, the game was in an unfinished state because Lucas Arts cut the development schedule by a few months.
New Vegas was superior to Fallout 3, the only issues are really the bugs but Bethesda isn't clean in this case either. It was their tech afterall and their Q&A ...
Obsidian did a better job with Fallout than Bethesda did. They added some great things to the game such as hardcore mode, the wheel mechanic, etc. Bethesda's Gamebryo RPG fork is no way a "fantastic engine" considering it can barely run as is.
The only issues Obsidian has are with Q&A which will hopefully be remedied with Dungeon Siege III (if it's not, there is no hope).
Yeah it's an embarrassment how they handled Tropico 3 on the 360, just get the PC version. If you're worried about using a keyboard/mouse setup over a gamepad don't be since the game isn't that control intensive so simple mouse clicks are basically all you use.
Surely something like this could be spoofed? I think GFWL's SSA encryption is good enough (I don't think it has been cracked yet, at least, it wasn't a while after DR2 released), there's no need to limit offline play.
I guess the silver lining here is that they aren't using another layer of DRM on top of it all!
Ironic that this is coming from the Examiner, also not surprising that it's talking about a "conspiracy theory". Look through the other posts that writer as made on The Examiner and you'll see that he too has been feeding the PSN flames, the same flames he now seems to be speaking out against.
Seriously, why would other companies need to say anything on behalf of Sony? They don't know what's going on internally at the company so why would they try to...
Yeah there was a teaser for it in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. I think Peter Berg and Paramount were attached to it but it never happened.
It's not a Microsoft game, it's being published by Kalypso.
If you read the article you would have realized the game was six discs before compression.
The content was likely cut for DLC or development time purposes. It's not like Rockstar is a stranger to DLC content either.
What the heck? CD Projekt is a huge company with around 600 employees, they've been publishing games for ages in Eastern Europe and are behind Good Old Games, arguably one of the most successful digital distribution platforms in the industry. CD Projekt isn't some small outfit in the middle of nowhere, they are a big company that makes good money.
Further, this "paying reviewers" thing is insane. You do realize in the US, where most gaming publications are ...
What's the point of a comparison like this when,
A. So little is known about the leaked screenshots.
B. They are obviously from an early stage of development because there are visible textures missing in almost all of those shots, not to mention effects, lighting, etc.
At this rate, it won't be long before sites start comparing concept art to game renders.
Those aren't new engines, they are based off the previous engine frameworks.
And how is Battlefield not being milked? The first Battlefield game released in 2002 and as of the end of 2011 there will be 20 games released in the series since then.
The first Call of Duty game released in 2003 and by the end of 2011 there will be 12 Call of Duty games released (not counting the World at War ports on PS2 and iPhone).
The only thing Infinity Ward/Treyarch don't go in depth with is their engine modifications in comparison to DICE.
Uh what? A same gun means what exactly? Those two models don't even have the same texturing or the scale.
Secondly, large publishers have internal databases where studios upload game assets. Anyone else connected to the database is free to download the assets. The purpose here is to speed up internal development by sharing resources among studios. If a studio in America is working on a shooter that involves an AK47 as is a studio in England, what benefit is there to creat...
captain-obvious: Please show me where I called Wii games shovelware. You seem so confident so I would love to see your facts.
^^^
Dance Central and Kinect Sports are NOT shovelware. Shovelware is a piece of software that is so broken it doesn't even work and was simply made to cash in.
I disagree, I think if that were the case we would see a screenshot or video leak that showcases the improvements.
I think this could be a fake anyway, it doesn't even spell out "Modern Warfare 3" and simply abbreviates it as MW3. As we've seen with Modern Warfare 2, I think they want as much recognition on the box as possible.
Companies that sell to Walmart get paid when the product is sold to Walmart, not when the product is sold to the consumer. The only one who gets paid at that point is Walmart. In the scenario you described, the only one impacted is Walmart. Since stores such as Kmart, Target, etc will still be selling the same goods.
With digital it's different, both the developer/publisher and Sony are only paid when the item is bought. If you buy something for $5 on the PSN, Sony will t...
Engines can be modified, just take a look at the Source engine and all the impressive improvements Valve has made.
Even Frostbite 2.0 has remnants of the old Frostbite engines in it.
I'm thinking it could be,
A. A PC release
B. A "GOTY" release that includes all the DLC, extras, etc
C. Another media release like film, TV, books, etc.
D. A retail expansion
Theyellowflash30: With Kotor 2 Obsidian had much more scale than BioWare did. Despite the incompleteness the amount of depth in the game was great. For example, if you didn't have enough trust with a character you could miss an entire subplot that occurs either on the ship when you return between characters or on planets with certain NPC's. The first game didn't have this kind of depth. The game was also much darker than the predecessor and they got the atmosphere in the galaxy do...
