Yeah, they should have made the Wii U more powerful, but in the end it doesn't really matter. Nintendo is still a profitable company; they'll still make Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros.; and this gen their games will actually have the ability to look good with a decent graphics card, enough RAM, and no more 480p. It's not the next gen gamers wanted but I still see the Wii U as a good secondary system.
They have to start making a profit on each Wii U before they have room to maneuver.

There probably will be a price cut but I bet they're going to wait to see if Rayman or the Wonderful 101 sells some consoles first. If not: price drop in the fall. You heard it here first.
Nintendo loses money on every Wii U sold. I doubt there will be a price cut until it's cheaper for them to produce.
I can't speak for everyone but part of the reason some people say "not bad" to how the Wii U is selling is BECAUSE of the PS3. It's hard to judge whether it's a very bad sign or not that they lowered their predictions. Games sell consoles and Nintendo delayed all their big launch window games. If they had released their big games AND fell short of their forecasts it would have been definitely bad.
Looks like we're going to have to wait for next quarter's numbers to see how they're really doing.
I can agree with the slow starts. I hope the next Zelda starts like A Link to the Past.
Personally I'd rather have a new Eternal Darkness. I loved the sanity meter but I felt it was too easy to keep filled. Unless I let it run low I never saw the cool "glitches".
Edit: But of course it's obvious everyone would prefer a new one to a remake :)

I don't know how it could stop. In the next generation game development will be even more expensive which would mean devs would take less risks out of necessity.

Believe it or not most people feel sad when they hear about someone dying, even if they haven't met them. I'm not going to cry about it, but yeah, I felt a little sad reading about him dying, especially the part about his son breaking the news. You don't feel anything when you hear about something bad happening to someone? That's not a normal reaction...
