Gfx cards by 2020 can probably do 4K/120 as I think framerate on monitors are still the focus more than resolution boosts for now. Consoles will target 4k/60 and then as years progress go 4k30 or checkerboard/60 depending on the game.
Pc after 2020 will stretch that gap again to a breaking though until we see new consoles (upgrades again probably instead of full gen leap). 8K realistically shouldn't be pushed by games for a very long time. It's barely even talked...
I doubt we'll see them before 2020 but the tech could allow the possibility by then.
Plus by 2020 we will be seeing, at the very least, the second or third iteration of this year's cpu chipsets and probably closer to completely new gpu chips (new line, not just more powerful pascals from nvidia for example). So 2019 might not make it as a profitability option but tech could probably allow it to happen in a console marketable unit.
I think they mig...
@Kionic:
It's because social media is slowly turning us into minimalist thinkers.
It's all about what you can say in the least words as possible or even just with a meme or video now. I want to find a new forum (as in a social place, not just the online forums of today where talk is usually cheap) that actually has people discuss things now and again but no such luck no matter where I've looked.
Back and forth today is usua...
And I'll be playing more of it soon, and again later on this year.
That one game is the game that just keeps on giving (with a $20 cost anyways). Sometimes dlc isn't so bad. I definitely got my money's worth from launch content alone.
They're quality is subpar imo, not terrible but always just a little too off to be A level. It doesn't make them unfun to play for me but sort of like playing ES in third person--it's basically the same but doesn't look or play quite "right"
either.
If they ever jump that quality hurdle they could be great. They've done well enough though, they've made games longer than many companies actually.
Nintendo had their first e3 conference with the Switch this year actually and hit it out of the park. For only being 25m long their Showcase was full of great news and almost all were first party games.
Xbox showed a new console upgrade for the first time plus the reveal for Anthem, the next potentially large multiplayer IP.
Sony? Spiderman stole the show for many but most of their conference was great but not "new". MH though... it will make...
Sad but true. I like their coop/competitive titles (most have singleplayer options) but the last real non-Kinect first party singleplayer game was Fable 3. Not the best example of what to do either as it lacked the charm of the other titles.
Nintendo and Sony have always had better pure singleplayer lineups. Last gen they made up 90% of my PS playtime, now I'm on third parties with PS4 as much as Xbox last gen and on Xbox much, much less than either last time around.
<...
He might not want them to go away, but they need to greenlight those first party exclusives that are singleplayer only if that's really your stance on the issue. Nearly al are more coop or competitive oriented.
They need more than third party support for singleplayer games, and also let those third parties have more control too (or it seems to be part of the issue--Scalebound Dev mentioned it at one point before the cancelation).
BC is nice but I wan...
Derp, meant Scalebound not Crackdown at the end. Too late to edit now.
MS first party studios quite frankly need to have singleplayer games greenlit more often. What was the last new true singleplayer only game they made? Fable 3 in 2010? A game that literally left behind all of the charm that made the franchise great. And no I'm not counting Kinect titles here...
They've had third party do others but every other game they've made themselves has coop, competitive, or some other multiplayer option (Forza for example). Zero game...
They explicitly said that the bosses are open right from the get go (like the original really, but hopefully more varied fights) so this isn't a surprise. They said it might be harder to take them out early but its possible. The original Crackdown was EXTREMELY short if you didn't just have fun playing around in the world or collect orbs so for fans this won't be a huge deal.
Not great news, but it sounds like Crackdown 3 is basically just more Crackdown which...
He never said that, the article was based on one of the worst parts of a translated Japanese interview I've ever seen plus there were like 5 actual words "quoted" in the whole article and then sounded like speculation.
Scalebound probably got hyped up and Devs were going more and more ambitious and things just went sour eventually. That happens unfortunately. Platinum is a great company but they're very hit or miss (for every great game is 1 or 2 6/7s wh...
For me it probably will be, but then again Anthem will likely be just like Destiny and Division for me too. I didn't play either for long (compared to some other games) but still monopolized a good portion of my time while I did.
And Ms always said it's up to Devs... so I don't care.
Did anyone actually visit the original article and translate it from Japanese? I'm surprised this guy could piece any of it together for those 2 word quotes he used to judge Spencer's mind on.
I liked what I saw of Scalebound (most anticipated Xbox game probably) but we never really saw anything but a small open world segment and one multiplayer boss fight. It's possible that development wasn't going that well behind the curtains as we had zero idea of wha...
It depends on the games you like, I don't need every game to be a Zelda. Didn't own a Wii U so most real port worthy games will interest me too and bet we haven't seen the last of them. Plus I like the handheld aspect which I use more than i was expecting actually.
To each their own, that's why I like having options when gaming.
I need the tv, but it's how I'm looking at it too. Basically like how I was last gen again.
My LCD tv is failing (light areas showing up where contrast/brightness is failing after 10 years of heavy use) so it's the perfect time for an upgrade anyways, besides added expense of course but that's just a consideration you have to make for yourself all the time.
I keep checking, lol. It's not as exciting as a new console gen or anything like that but just as excited for it as my Pro. Maybe a little more even as I know I'll play my Xbox more often again, lol.
This whole next month will be full of it anyways, like every e3. It will die down to normal hate later ;)
Its true, but if you liked the original its exactly what you liked about it.
That said, some progress would had been nice beyond the more dynamic enemy boss mechanic, which is welcome news no matter how it works out but the only real new thing they mentioned besides some gun additions. Last time if you played the game just once then you'd know exactly what the experience forward would be as nothing ever changed but the order in which you did it all. Now, something mig...
