The style isn't the issue--similarities are just way too pronounced. The river is the most obvious but if you visit the site and look at the 3cpo and Fett images in particular you cannot help but notice the similarities. I would like to see an overlay of those two original images compared to Botderlands as it is even more uncanny.
The tilt of the head, 1 collar off each SW character and even the basic shape of the "head" minus hair (it's pretty much 3cpo w...
I can see Mario being huge--he's the face of Nintendo after all and it's back to the basics for him. Nintendoland as well since name alone will draw the masses plus its gameplay seems well suited towards Nintendo and Wii's core audience.
Rayman and Pikmin are much less likely IMO. With the consoles price it seems likely people will go more with "safe bet" name recognition of Mario or Nintendo. Plus Rayman vs Mario? Really?
Bayonetta ...
Easily achievable these days for pc and can cut corners for consoles as don't require quite as much hardware as more streamlined for gaming and basic apps. Plus Console manufacturers would buy in bulk to get things even cheaper than today's DIY pc gamer/builder.
Processor and graphics cards by far most expensive parts these days and if you wanted to can make a pc with over the shelf parts comparable to ps3 launch price that blow console games out of the water alrea...
I think they should had just dropped the BiA tag and went with it as a new IP personally. Doesn't really 'fit' with other BiA games from how they described it.
Gearbox has enough fans to warrant decent interest in a new IP and it wouldn't have put off existing BiA fans at the same time. As it stands not all that interested so far but guess it could change later on down the road (maybe).
Personally I'm looking forward to Rift as I haven't really played any new MMO for any significant chunks of time (3+ months) in years. Part of that was some of my favorite hopefuls being broken in some way or simply wasn't worth the effort (Conan's end game, WAR's 'balancing', AION timesink and 'balancing' issues as well--flight may sound interesting but was largely a near broken pvp mechanic in the abyss, gliding was fun though).
Rift doe...
Tagging with smoke was always the better choice--getting away with it or doing it more than once a round even more so.
Tech is kinda cool, but as I still don't have Kinect or plan to any time soon so doesn't really interest me much. May have to pick it up once its 'officially' put out for PC with worthwhile uses though. The hacks for it are actually cooler than anything MS has shown so far.
Looks fantastic but if that's not some unannounced PC version screens then 90% of me is thinking they're the usual bullshots devs throw out (especially this early). However... if not then definately can't wait and actually glad Epic has been hard at work.
Just hope gameplay is better than 2... sucked big time and still does (especially chainsaw vacuum BS with extended range--never even liked it in the first one and gayed it up even more for 2).
As several people have said: GoW3 isn't till '10. Modern Warfare 2 looks 'great' but imo can be pushed off the list with minor qualms.
Fight Night Round 4 is a phenomenal looking game (although outside of boxers, who cares?). Dirt 2 is a great looking game as well as being a nice racing title--going by the demo anyways (PC version that is being 'delayed' for dx11 is supposed to be even more gorgeous). Even Assassin's Creed 2 is superior to MW2 in its own way. Ratchet and Cla...
Why is it called trolling? I am more than interested in Ratchet as well as other PS3 games just said its not like PS3 is only console with games. People are too sensitive... so sorry I limit myself to just one piece of hardware (/sarcasm off)
Anyways, hope this game is as fun as last and want to see what updated engine can do.
Its Ratchet and the other is the same Lombax from the trailer, when he was younger. Check both the ear markings and the 'soul patch'. Both are very similar if not as pronounced. Granted its just a guess but the one on the left is clearly Ratchet or very closely related (face, weapon, armor design).
If you take a good look, I'm assuming the younger of the two in the watch is Ratchet since it is his trademark weapon and rather similar armor. The other is more than likely the same Lombax holding it (father as several have assumed). However its just speculation since the picture's design isn't the same as the other game. The markings however on the 2 lombaxes are familiar, check the ears ;)
In some way I'd think Ratchet and this new character is related in some fashion and fath...
Same, but plenty of PC/360 games I'm buying too even if I'm extremely disappointed in GDC regarding 360 ;( Hopefully they're saving stuff for E3 as multi-platform, PS3, and PC seems to be my primary gaming so far for '09 (not a bad thing, but I still prefer 360 controller... its one piece of hardware I haven't had much problem with).
*edit so losers that have to throw words 'trolling' around have something else to complain about. Screwed up and replied on wrong message and was ...
Sounds really great, just curious how it'll actually work out. Visited their site after watching couple vids about it and apparently site is going to be updated later today (here anyways, as its 1am). I doubt OnLive will change much early on but if they can get their foot in the door so to speak I'm various curious to see both how they and others that support and/or 'copy' the technology could lead us.
The one thing I am very cautious about though is potential pricing (for serv...
Just downloaded off XBL and for some reason video quality seems far superior to other sources (for the record, I've downloaded from 2 and watched it on another). Differences between first and second GoW are much, much more noticeable. To be honest, gameplay is still pretty much the exact same with a few new tweaks but for first 1.5 minutes of gameplay footage shown it looks fantastic.
Also, take into account this takes place in the very first Act so we've yet to see surprises I...
Looks great imo. Not a great ss really but you get a basic idea (wish it was 1280x720... still looks fantastic when streamed to my 360 on hdtv though). Mag still has better although can't see what they look like on tv... scans don't count as they never look as good as direct. Character models though look pretty sweet but I'd rather see a direct shot of a locust ;)
Environmentally speaking, there are 'better' looking games but have to take into account this is first direct sh...

Nice observation. I think its all about expanding their audience and trying to pull in the other console's dominant playerbase (fine by me, I own both and healthy competition is always a good thing).
I like both console's line-ups for different reasons (PS3 for FPS, 360 for RPGs, both will see fantastic multiplatform titles, and a handful of exclusives each for misc genres).
Would like to give him the benefit of the doubt, but from what I read... he seemed to want to find something bad about it (or just has little patience--most JRPG take a couple hours to really pick up). I will agree the start isn't that great (well first 30m isn't bad, but then like next hour is slow going in comparison--especially if you just run around looking for loose change everywhere).
I went in knowing it had alot of cutscenes/dialogue (all JRPG do, but at times LO does ...
Mods are a huge part of why PC is better than consoles. It's not the only platform that has had it available in some form though as I enjoyed playing around with things on some console games over the years (Timesplitters map making even if basic, LBP, etc).
Many of the best PC games have allowed mods of some sort (or allow for creativity in game that alters your or others' experience) and quite a few of them are top sellers. A few "creative" games: Sims a...
