I sort of agree, halfway through the tone basically turned it into a Sony commercial piece. Doesn't make it less true in a sense but it's more Pro-Sony than any Xbox article needs to be.

Because MS/EA/Sony can actually track this stuff easier and more accurately? You know, since they have full control over their servers and tracking systems.

Third parties that use a small sample of gamer tags/surveys and their play list are not exactly known for accuracy. It's like polls taken by the news (or anyone else) that say they are "based on 100-1000 random people" and are somehow taken as remotely news worthy by anyone not already crazy.

Hopefully before it goes live (it got delayed so might be even longer) they'll be able to prove it's value. $20 is a good price in comparison but I'm hoping they make some decent changes to warrant paying for it all.

Yep, just hoping online infrastructure can live up to it. That's my only concern with it really.

Your point?

Until they show something all we have to work with is the existing infrastructure (very basic which i was referring to for online uses, I'm happy with games so fa so barren is alluding to their current way of handling online which is simply put quite "lacking") and besides the mention of some games coming (which is the main reason I'm currently interested in it so far) nothing mentioned has shown or even hinted at why paying for online warrants...

Whatever it is, I like it as it subtlety suggests an infinity symbol to me.

Tell that to the citizens of Japan. He officially gained Citizenship in 2015 actually.

You get what you pay for though. I doubt I'll really be playing online much with my switch but from what we've seen it's a barren landscape compared to the others (although we haven't seen much, what we have seen isn't impressive).

I'll do it though as maybe they'll use it to build it up to what online should be, plus we will eventually see those online nes features games which is where I see most benefit from gold/plus anyways (games to play wi...

You have to look at it like this, how many different game builds are being tested before launch? That sort of time difference will probably add up to a lot in the long run which is what this will really cut down on.

Dev Kit's added power beyond transfer rates though makes everything easier and maybe, just maybe can make PC Play Anywhere versions easier or to see more benefits (Recore and Gears 4 especially got a few boosts on pc but very little really beyond resolutio...

I don't think I need pirates, but Wild West could be cool. I always loved the Boltok ;)

Standalones aren't utilized often enough or as well as they could be. Judgement was okay but sort of meh as far as Gears goes (I least preferred the original grittiness). Locust are still my favorite enemies too, simple and classic horror humanoids.

Halo 5 also showed how not to do a continuation based on what could had been better as a standalone (imo). Lo...

I probably will, not regularly but now and again if the game warrants it. I haven't played on my Xbox much recently other than to use some apps it has that the PS4 doesn't, other than around specific exclusive game releases.

Online wise it doesn't make a big difference to me as i have friends on both too. They just need to sell me on why upgrade (games) and I'll pick one up to replace my day one One. Probably keep my old one too like I did with my PS4 (ju...

For the record, I'm excited for games like this as I never bought them on the PS or PC. Some games really fit the hybrid bill more than others will. The puyo puyo Tetris (sp?) is another I'minterested in for. Switch specifically. Games I might have passed up on on other platforms or just haven't bought yet.

3227d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Of course some games will, but that doesn't mean it's what most go out and buy it for specifically, especially outside of certain genres (Japanese centric and fans of these games, myself included).

If you buy Nintendo Platforms Japanese support is one of the few areas you can reliably count on (it and sony has that down). Ubisoft is one of the only Western Pubs that you can throw in to that circle as well.

There is support here and there, but don...

Unless they change their philosophy, no Scorpio exclusives. I almost wish they'd just take that out of the game and announce it as an Xbox 4, with full BC with all One games as well.

It's basically an Xbox 4 anyways (power wise--CPU got a decent upgrade but not as much as next gen should see--8 cores are quickly becoming outdated with Ryzen and Intel's new chips anyways) but without exclusives it isn't "really" that so it's still technically a...

Gears 5/6 has to close 4's story though. It never had a finality.

A new Gears later on could work that way though, it's not like they don't have the tech to go to space (giant orbital lasers, force fields, etc that are all well beyond our own tech level).

Part of why I love the Switch is it's the closest I've gotten to a higher end Windows Steam Gaming handheld/tablet. You can play some games on W10 tablets but they're not made for games specifically and are expensive as well. Nvidia Shield was my last hope but was never sold on it. Nintendo means I'm guaranteed at least some great games and Shield didn't get that kind of support.

Switch is the first bridge to that kind of reality imo (worth buying any...

It's the only one that makes any sense though, other than some weird Judgement throwaway that no one would really want. It is the most logical choice. When the new xcom came out it was even talked about in some circles as the character models fit, cover system would be easy to implement as a Gears version, etc. You take away aliens (and psi abilities) and replace them with locust and reskin it just a little and it would be a natural fit for a Gears turn based game.

I...

It doesn't in the long run, no one since the GC has seriously bought a Nintendo console for anything not Nintendo exclusive. you might play the rare multiplatform game on it, but you don't buy the system for them.

3227d ago 8 agree2 disagreeView comment

I'd love other games on my switch, solely for versatility/convenience option but you're right as the only reason anyone "should" think to buy a nintendo device is for Nintendo games. Anything else is just icing on the cake (although cake without icing is never as good... should be the cherry on top as less people probably want the cherry than icing).

I wouldn't even mind a watered down version for some games on the Switch, but as i said that's not...

True, but every new platform lacks games. Most have a bigger variety to choose from but rarely any are what you'd call quality on par with Zelda. I played it more than any 2-3 launch games on either One or PS4 (exception being Killzone online maybe, as online at launch didn't have many options so it filled most time just because what else was there?).
