My pc is better than my new X, still play on console on a more regular basis though. I love GF and even some other console services for example which helps sort of negate the “pc game sale advantage”.
I think multiplatform games next year or later could utilize the x better too, if they choose to. Same for Pro if the games also come to pc. I want both 4K and Quality when possible.
Crazy to see gta still being top 4 seller in the past year.

Cuphead will probably win art direction but doubt it will win anything else. Maybe Independent or score though.
Forza is iffy but always a contender for its main category. A couple good competitors in racing scene depending on platform.

I preferred XV’s open world and of course it’s graphics but 12 in many ways stil had a better story. One of the best jrpgs on the PS4 is, yet again, an older game.
At least we get a new jrpg again early next year.
For people that want a Crackdown like experience but be a more focused singleplayer experience it’s great. You can’t throw as much stuff around or play with friends but it has similar enough “Super soldiers go Pew Pew, Jump around everywhere, and collect stuff” mentality that makes up a lot of Crackdown’s basic design philosophy.
Rent it for campaign. They don’t get more cash but you get the story mode.
For third party and older games especially it has to be Rise of the Tomb Raider though. First party will look great of course and can’t wait to see new games that need shown at e3. Hopefully during game awards next month they start showcasing something new (not soT or Crackdown).
Switch is hot and handheld is big there. It could make investors more interested in it than just saying how it has already done since growth is always a good thing. By next Spring Switch sales are basically forecasted to double as well.
Tales, Digimon (Digimon and Pokemon both for switch... if done right it could be a good holdover if no Pokemon for ‘18 too), and something unique hopefully.
$400 is sweet spot but $500 is fine if it’s worth the cost (which with Kinect has proven it wasn’t, especially as base One runs lower than PS4).
If MS wants to push Multimedia Entertainment route again then they just need to build in Voice Control next time as it would basically work the same way 90% of Kinect was actually utilized. Very little used it’s camera controls after all (Zoo Tycoon probably used camera more than anything else, by means of interacting with animals...
That seems fishy (since higher specs shouldn’t be doing worse), but hopefully it gets sorted ASAP. Not one of the games I’ll personally be using my X or but I’m sure some fans would be which will be disappointing.
Still looking forward to tomorrow though as have 3 newer games I’ve been saving for the X.
Which is why I have imo and probably thrown in there.
Until they announce something new, which hasn’t been their strong point lately, than it’s sadly the only safe assumption to realistically make. I just want to see them introduce new generation defining titles on top of regulars and indies.
Hopefully they’re working on them all now but how many studios do they even have now? That aren’t staples (Gears, Halo, Forzax2) or Rare?
As much as i love Metro, it hasn’t been confirmed yet. They’re targeting 4K true but the demo was confirmed running on a pc “near x specs” as well.
If it falls below I’ll still be happy anyways as it’s still Metro. Most non-4k games are usually closer to 1800 than 1440 after all which is a sizable step up still.

Sea of Thieves looks good imo but probably lacks longevity. They’ve recently shown a smaller ship that is more singleplayer friendly but it’s clearly a social multiplayer focused game. That in top of everything else makes it questionable even though i like the way it looks and plays (very pirate-y).

UHD discs are 50-100gb in size so all about compression already and next gen will be worse (at least somewhat). Games like QB use a ton of video files however, which were optional downloads in its case or otherwise streamed online. Which is an entire different issue but still related (as maybe they could have used a second disc for video install).
I’m assuming we are going to reach a point of 2 UHD discs one day soon, especially during next gen sometime.
Depends on the game.
Skyrim to me is worth it for a mobile option but wouldn’t buy it again if on the go wasn’t an option. Basically anything else has to follow suit, not buying something again solely for tv mode in other words unless they’re is a big reason why it’s “better” for Switch.
90% of my games will be Nintendo or Indie releases until bigger games release same day.
The idea is far from bad... but make it an option just like today (but a more common one). 4K, 60fps, or enhanced visuals. Only a handful of games on either the pro or X do it this way or very well though.
