2020 seems ideal imo but the more rumors spread then the more I think 2019 could be a possibility however.
As of now we have about 4 large undated Sony exclusives (Days Gone, TLOU2, Ghost of tsushima, and Death Stranding—and some smaller ones). Out of those, at least 1 will probably release by next Spring (Day’s Gone I expect should be the first). Probably another by next Holiday (TLOU2 or Ghost). Sony tends to have a post-new launch exclusive as well every time so anoth...
Not pointless but very niche.
If they did this instead of a next gen though I’d be hugely disappointed and likely to just keep my Pro/X. The only real reason I’m fine with it now is because 1080p to 4k is a viable reason for me. We need totally new starting points next time and then we can see where it goes from there. 4K is plenty so a new mid gen upgrade is much less warranted, unless they go with a lower res to begin with (1440p+ which frees up a lot of resources for ...
I’ve never not had something to play, but it would be nice to have something new from Xbox we haven’t seen for the past several years (SoT, SoD2, C3) or simply know are coming (Forza, Gears, Halo). So while I wish I had xbox equivalents of some of the newer Sony games, I’m happy.
In part because I play some huge games and a wide variety of them (RPGs especially, played several 100-200+ hour games this gen), have a pS4, PC, Switch, etc. If I was a fan of only specific game...
Only real competition is a handful of PC titles and maybe 1-2 PS4 games.
I love my Xbox but even the X doesn’t really have true competition on it yet imo (4k versions aside, Gears for example looks great but not God of War great, or even Uncharted games great consistently). A few others you might try arguing (ACO, FC5 usually looks better than most other Xbox games that aren’t cars in Forza).
Pc versions of some of the same games though and a couple of e...
He called him Darrell because Mr Watermelons and Sledgehammers was already taken.
If you don’t know the reference, I pity you as there will ever only be one true Gallagher (although his brother later took the gig).
I have several friends playing old games regularly. It’s just you can’t see them online usually unless you’re playing a 360 game because it emulates the 360 with its own dashboard (start+select brings it up in old games, xbox just brings up One dashboard still). Or maybe when hidden you have to hide in both separately? I just know some friends show up on 360 and not One at times.
It’s not a constant used thing but it’s oretty cool imo. I’m replaying Force Unleashed off ...
@kneon: The cpu/gpu change isn’t a big deal as long as basic architecture stays the same, just like PCs. So both the next Xbox and PS should theoretically be BC with this generation’s games unless they intentionally throw a wrench into the system. If it’s as open as people expect it to be anyways since it’s basically a closed system pc more than ever now (more of a Steam Machine than standard Windows PC—designed specifically for a set of goals in mind, similar to say Linux instead of Wind...
Rumors of kits hitting third parties for one has been in the news quite a bit recently. A few spec rumors as well.
8 core Ryzen base or even better should be fine next gen. I’m expecting something along those lines anyways even if not exact.
TLOU released the same year the PS4 launched though. So maybe not this year but next is entirely possible for an announcement or even a release but plenty could hold us over for 2020 instead (Days Gone, Ghost, TLOU2, Death Stranding, etc), but then again some could be PS5 titles (DS and maybe Ghost of Tsushima?).
I think a lot of it depends on what they show at e3. If not much is shown in terms of entirely new games then PS5 might be 2019. 1-2 for PS4 could be those late...
Unfortunately. Fable rumor is likely 1-2 off even if it’s real. If the Horizon second team is true since they’re still hiring key positions there. So hopefully they can get a couple out before next gen but probably not many new ones yet.
You realize they’re listed that way based on what is “done” or at least well received (online service) first and then what is next on the roster?
I agree the games should be first, but Xbox arguably has the better online service still, Game Pass and Play Anywhere are both incredible, etc. Full BC going forward for both One games and older 360/OG One games will be fantastic on next gen systems as well.
Now they basically have the one thing they need most ...
Next gen is more likely at this point imo. Which I’m fine with as hopefully it’s a whole new engine and not a cleaner version of old one again.
They are supposed to have two entirely new “ES/Fallout” sized games in production right now (also ES to some degree is rumored as they develop in parallel, but to various degrees on one or the other according to one of their dev videos).
I think he means how zelda’s world was built around exploration and not necessarily being “alive” but functionally “real” at times.
You had a somewhat “realistic” physics enabled world, given hardware constraints anyways. Fire burned plants, animals, etc and created upwind. Water conducted electricity, put out fire, and floatable objects floated. Metal also conducted electricity and attracted lightning. Things like this made some incredible experimentations that were a...
White guilt. It’s stupid but for some it’s a genuine thing and in a world of sjw it’s worse as you know someone will point it out for you. Even if it’s not even an issue, like some sjw have jumped on board for over the years.
It’s great when the guys they’re supposedly supporting come out an call them on it. Then they even backpedal or dig their heels deeper all the while they’re getting talked to by the guy they tried to throw others under the bus for.
He adlibbed to a song, but basically yes.
Rap is sort of the one place where the word is “acceptable” but even if you’re a fan of the music it’s still a stigma if you’re white just because (-a or -er, although in rap and comedy both are used heavily depending on the artist). So in this case I just assumed it would come down to context anyways. If he said the other “N word” it probably would have been a much bigger deal though, just like pretty much anywhere. Context ther...
Probably similar reviews, but diehard fans will be happy as it’s never been touted as earth shattering—just like the original.
Both should basically be social games, except Crackdown has always been singleplayer friendly even if not as fun alone usually. Crackdown has always been a bit “shallow” as well. You have orbs to collect and stuff to shoot, but mostly about blowing stuff up with friends.
April or May Inside Xbox. Summer release probably announced for it.
SSO is a genuine exclusive, no pc release for it (sadly—I’d love an x Enhancement or pc version for higher resolution).
If true, it will probably be the big late Spring game next year then. I doubt we’ll be luckier for an earlier release.
Maybe Day’s Gone around Feb-March like Horizon? You’d think it would be first as it’s actually shown gameplay several times already. Who knows, but hadn’t heard that so thanks.
