Most? No, but 360 had pretty good Japanese support early on. MS even helped the LO and Blue dragon team start up, then MS did basically nothing and that team turned to 3DS games (BD got 1-2 DS games).

I don’t see MS even attempting anything big again, especially after Scalebound, but Spencer has been to Japan sense it was cancelled. Hopefully they get a few bones thrown our way as I can play them on PS4/Switch but would still prefer X treatment for some.

They could just re-release 5 with an expansion added, sort of like Destiny did with TK. It would keep H5 alive longer, which has great multiplayer, while sticking to that “gaas” design they’ve mentioned in the past. H6 needs to be special imo as it will decide where Halo goes after Cortana arch ends (assuming MC and cortana might be done after 6–343 has mentioned they see Halo outside of MC before).

With how 5’s campaign went down, critically especially, and Bungie’s comments on don’t expect it soon (last year), I think it will be longer and we might see a standalone first. Maybe this year if it’s a standalone. Next could go either way (should technically be Gears next year I imagine, getting both seems unlikely).

So, my bet is we get a standalone this year (either full game like Reach or a 5 “expansion”, either focused on MC team ordeal or new Locke and team adventu...

Same, and I’ve thought about buying consoles even.

N64 on I’m okay for thankfully, as they’re my originals, but older consoles not so much. Wish when i was a kid the family kept my old systems but we always sold them to friends to upgrade. Which was great at the time but less so for nostalgic purposes of today.

You just never know who, or how many, has had hands on the older consoles and games at this point. NES, Sega, SNES, etc (which are not applicab...

Very unlikely since it would probably require separate hardware, just like PS3 had at launch to play ps2 games (fat is still best PS3 because of that). It’s entirely possible but just extremely unlikely as they’d have to manufacture that much more for every system adding to costs and product size/weight; and since they dropped it with PS3 it’s probably never going to happen again, on a hardware level anyways.

Streaming old games is their plan apparently unless you find old...

I wouldn’t say I’m happy with Japanese Support, which is probably true for many xbox fans that enjoy games from there. So hopefully he made some new first steps while there last time around or they just have low expectations to begin with.

I’d love if they gave Lost Odyssey an X treatment as a first big step. It’s already BC but nothing like an X boost as it’s probably the best jrpg playable on the One still, and is a last gen game. FFXV and such were fun but story wise?...

MS just needs to show more games further down the pipeline this time around. Crackdown and Ori are now the only undated announced games we are even aware of, outside even smaller Indies. The Inevitables will be coming one day but with last year’s weak first/second party launch when X did, they need to go big with announcements at the very least.

Show Horizon and anything else that might release this Fall but also Halo/Gears teases and maybe some new announcements like the...

In about 38h my character has learned to walk on air twice (solved by walking onto higher plane of the ground) and one of the early side quests bugged, which is one of the most commonly bugged quests apparently but not a sure thing—Bird Quest btw.

Other than that it’s mostly been minor graphical hiccups and popin issues. Nothing worse than what you can see in any game though (flying is a bit rare than most bugs though).

Great game with some hinderances. ...

KCD is an independent developer, the publisher only really did the distribution bits.

So they probably just ran out of money as it was partially developed through kickstarter and it’s a very ambitious first game. That’s how I see it anyways as it’s budget was still in millions but not on par with similar games (only number I’ve seen is about 7.5M but not really sure how true—but I’d expect a game like this to cost a lot more).

The sad truth is we’re quickly reaching the point of diminishing returns on the tech front, especially while pushing for 4k/60+. A lot of that extra power is reserved for res and frame rate nowadays, just look at the pc environment as a prime example.

That said, most every game engine today is able to push a lot more than consoles can do today, and even PCs really. Even using console hardware of today as a baseline, some games can look practically a generation beyond thei...

With the bonus that PS5 should be BC, and maybe even see some
enhancements for at least a few of the known but unreleased games (Ghost, TLOU2, or Death being the most likely known possibilities that sort of cross gen lines, especially Death—I think TLOU2 will maybe be a gen ender just like the original).

I’m assuming Ready at Dawn for example is either working on a next gen game already at this point, or will be one of the end of the gen ones when something else we...

I’m having a blast with it and looking forward to fixes later on though.

Lockpicking with a controller sucks though so it’s one of the first fixes I’m looking forward to. The save system didn’t bother me so much, but these two are the first gameplay tweaks they’ve really talked about and most of the rest is performance or bugs that really need tweaked. Maybe the horse since it can get caught up in things quite a bit but otherwise is nice.

I’m happy with my X which is all that really matters to me in the end.

Plus i don’t have any interest in upgrading my gpu anytime soon (980ti still). I’ll likely not have a reason to until around when next gen consoles get revealed (1100 gtx, didn’t want a 1000 series) and then it’s going to be a tougher choice I expect (>60fps really worth it to me for prices then, especially depending on crypto effect still and power of PS5/One2).

To be fair... the Devs of Witcher 3 own their own distribution service which is probably the second most popular one on pc. Plus it’s drm free there (as are most games sold there) so it doesn’t need to be tracked like games on Steam are by default.

So it’s not really a very good comparison. Not knocking KCD as I love it and wish them the best but in this case Steam isn’t a very good judge of success (direct comparison wise). Still some good news though.

I’m loving it even with its quirks.

I don’t disagree with some of the more marginal reviews however, especially lower end of “good”, because it does have some issues now and again. I might give it a bit higher myself but 7-8 is definitely understandable imo. If performance or some other issues were better it would probably warrant more 8+ reviews on a more steady basis.

Then again, this is a $60 first release Indie game from a new development team, whic...

I’m perfectly fine upgrading to a new Xbox in ‘19-20. The same way I’ll pick up a new PS around the same time after buying a Pro. I’d assume PS might be first however simply due to “mid gen upgrade” being released sooner, although it doesn’t mean it’s a perfect halfway mark for either one.

Sadly true, but I’m still playing MH on my X anyways. Exceptions suck for sure but most of the time X will see better results when Devs actually try. Hdr is apparently iffy due to how the two systems achieve it though.

2959d ago 4 agree9 disagreeView comment

Most Indies are built around a single “setting” anyways and usually run fine (if not one of those broken ones). So for games like Fe I don’t see Devs focusing too much on hardware differences. That’s how I see it anyways.

Pro/X are basically resolution differences for Indies, if they even get an Enhancement.
