I think 2019 is a lock at this point. Release? Maybe (probably?) not, but we should definitely see it announced by the end of next year imo (maybe Spring after and release in 2020 at the latest).

If e3 doesn't have more than a single New Internally Developed AAA game, 2019 might even be a release year. The last 2 years of PS3 only saw 3 'big' games announced in the last 2 years of its life cycle, which is about on par for Sony atm (Shadows Die Twice not being...

Same, other than I can do without the emotes--at least for most narrative purposes (don't lock doors behind emotes for example). I know some people liked them and I wouldn't mind them in a photo mode, but I never really cared for them after doing them all a couple times just for the novelty of it.

Basically just bring back a narrative story, the beautiful world, Medieval/High Fantasy setting, Good and Evil Rep system (update the visual flare for it though--I wouldn...

I love all the youngins that say “why shoot themselves in the foot” when the PS2 was in the same winning position. They made the PS3 anyways. Released a new ps2 slim model during PS3 early years as well. Still sold millions of ps2s when PS3 hit.

The only real difference being the cost of game development today. By time ‘19 comes around and a theoretical ps5 hits PS4 will be closer to 100M sales and then an even cheaper version will keep it going for a while—like the ps2...

No reason to reveal it at e3 to begin with. Do a PSX after Holiday at the soonest or wait for early ‘19. Not saying it’s happening, but it’s the best way to do it and not affect Holiday sales. Anyone that buys one before still have at least 3 big ‘19 games to look forward to.

Day’s Gone likely being Feb-March, TLOU2 April-May, and Ghost being a pre-Ps5 September-ish game. That leaves Death standing, the smoking gun we don’t know about yet really, to be whenever Kojima ...

Horizon was probably just a typo.

I’m surprised by Gears too as it should be Halo’s “turn” but maybe they just needed more time. It will be 3 years from H5, 2 from Gears 4 come this Holiday though. Maybe they wanted to nail the ending of Halo’s latest trilogy after 5’s story backlash and Gears was ready first since it’s story likely didn’t need any potential rewrites.

Or it’s just a partial list of games to begin with and are simply preorder placeholder...

It was built around the idea of Mega Textures becoming the norm. Hardware couldn’t handle it though and I can’t think of anything else that really went with that design choice.

I can’t rmember all of the specifics but it was what they built it around.

It had a lot going for it but equally bad limitations.

Mega Textures made texture loading and pop ins pretty bad—many high end pcs would get it still during quick 180 degree turns.

Online was literally broken for a while (coop missions on one console being even worse than the other for longer, think PS3).

Id Software competive mode was built on car racing? A huge left turn as they are a Shooter First known entity.

Easiest way is to not tell them until after it’s revealed, but probably easier said than done since they need to consider stocking, advertising, etc well before its ever out.

Possibly. I'm thinking best case scenario though. I seriously don't see it getting above 8 except by diehard fans of originals and even then they might be stretching it a bit--from what we've seen so far anyways.

I'm okay with that myself as I don't follow reviews to play games, but it isn't exactly a good thing for Xbox or the game itself. Especially with how most Sony and Nintendo exclusives have been reviewing lately. So even if they're fu...

I expect C3 to be a whole lot like 1, which will disappoint tons but be enough for most original Crackdown fans still. Both it and SoD will probably see plenty of 6-7s and a few aspiring 8s to balance off lower scores from disappointed reviewers/fans that simply wanted more.

I’d love to be wrong and for both to be more though. Just they don’t have the best jumping off points to begin with and don’t show radical differences.

7s, 8 at best probably. Some higher or lower but that’s my highest expectations for it in the end.

It’s a cheaper game to begin with and by the sound of it isn’t much different than the original—in terms of narrative and such. I like the premise though and that’s enough for me. Not much different than what I expect from Crackdown as they might have added some new touches but nothing they’ve shown looks radically different from the first there either.

Does the next one release before e3 or after? As if it’s after, it could be a big surprise they have to keep quiet. Cyberpunk for example.

Maybe Tomb Raider or RDR2 if before e3 since they’re a little more known factors now.

The new poses model makes her look like a doll so I hope in game it looks better. Maybe the pose is for a collector’s edition statue or something as it looks very flat visually speaking (clothes and skin wise—like most matte finishes on a car, just lack character and depth).

I think 6 needs to finish the arch on One.

Get it out of the system, pardon the pun, and pick it up with the Flood in the next gen. Gravemind isn’t dead after all. Focus on that the entire time going back to a sort of dark H2 setting. Maybe some side missions about what happened with Covenant and Brutes (perhaps flood was busy there) while Cortana has everyone tied up and Flood comes back swinging with everything else now in a weakness state.

Start off...

6’s story returned to MC and Cortana would be a big step in the right direction. Locke’s perspective was “okay”, but didn’t fit the narrative we’ve come to expect with MC (numbered) Halo games.

It should end the trilogy in one of two ways: Cortana dies (possibly MC as well), or she solves Rapancy problem as she is now and perhaps 5’s other ai that guides Locke ends up being a backup of her younger, pre-ascendant self. So cortana in 6 is both the good and bad guy basicall...

I wouldn’t mind, but doubt it will happen. I still enjoy Halo but whatever comes after 6 needs to be solid. Also, don’t just plan on a new trilogy again and see how it goes from there.

Same for Coalition and Gears. I don’t mind more of either one, but just decide if trilogies are really the best bet. A stand-alone a generation or even a duo can hold over most fans if it’s the pinnacle of the franchise. So quality over quantity is all aim saying. Don’t just assume you ...

Next gen they can probably bring it back strong. 4K singleplayer and 1080-1440p split, based on game’s technical level.

Things like that is part of why resolution can come in handy in the future. Easier “power swap” that won’t hurt frames as much. Not saying it will be revived, but it’s a great trade off for it to make a return.

2875d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

On One, start the next story entirely on new hardware. I doubt Halo is going anywhere and there are other stories to tell, I just don’t need another protagonist thrown in this arch.

Next? Maybe go with someone else if timeline and story is worth it. Spoilers but whatever: Or Cortana might fix rampancy issues in 6 for all we know, then sort of reboots a saved Construct of herself from before her ascendency. Unless something like that happens, MC should be close to done...

When they originally started talking about it around mario run, I was thinking how cool a mario paint could work on a touchscreen of today.

It doesn’t even have to be mobile since Switch and even DS has is. However,Mario maker could have been an idea that was spawned by the idea of Mario Paint on touchscreen as well. Just paint could still coexist as it’s more than just a level design option.

Even if they are, I think it will be releasing after P7 which is rumored to be an original game and even multiplatform.
