Unfortunately that's probably more true than I'd like it to be. They both have some good IPs but some bad decisions and drawn out release schedules aren't helping them any. I just hope they can keep it together at least till current games release and can manage to pick up sales to stay afloat.
I'm looking forward to a real reveal for this game as the tidbits we've seen look and sound epic. With all the varied concept art it just looks massive and the range is impressive.
I have no clue if it'll be an MMO (maybe of guild wars sort--large social hub and smaller "party" regions), borderlands-style open world, or even more Haloish in design (but grander in scale I bet) but I can't wait to find out. Since its "social" any of those s...
I would love to see a sequel as Sleeping Dogs was a big sleeper hit (saw some advertising but game took backseat to other games still).
Taking it either to another city or having a new protaginist would make the most sense due to whole undercover cop angle. Personally I'd love if they could find a way to keep Shen though as liked the character and would be interesting to run into people that "put the pieces together" and have to silence them either through tr...
I doubt next gen games will look that nice, especially not at launch and expect to run at 1080p and 60fps.
I simply think the leap from this generation of consoles to today's top of the line PCs is way too high to be financially feasible for either MS/Sony to be willing to take the required loss on consoles or sell them for astronomical prices (compared to past consoles). They could of course do it and I'd love them to look like that but it just seems a bit of a stre...
Can't wait to see what it looks like when its complete then as already looks insane. I really can't wait to play a game that looks as good or even half as good as the tech demos running on the unfinished version.
I'll give Nintendo credit where credit is due--at least they didn't drag out Wii's lifespan as much compared to 360/PS3. Then again, its not that impressive of a jump either but at least its a little less casual centric as the Wii so they're trying.
I kind of like the idea of not requiring the use of the tv screen to play as well but as I'm not in any position where that effects me so it is rather moot. Still, for families that is a pretty sweet option w...
Nice look into financial side of gaming and repercussions of some poor decisions on top of bad luck (Darksiders 2 for example---great IP that just can't catch a break). I'm sorry they're doing badly but they're neither the first or last Developer/Publisher to decline or even fall but I hope they can rebound. They've been taking some huge gambles hoping they'd pay off and in some ways they have but critical and financial success unfortunately don't always go hand ...
I actually agreed although I'm also disagreeing with you in part. "Crappy" ports probably won't be near as bad as the beginning of this generation but I do think for the first few years of next gen consoles the differences won't be quite as pronounced as they are now. Part of that though is rumor of dx11 support so PC advantage won't be as clear until new tech comes out again.
Granted I could be wrong and as a PC gamer I'm more than willing fo...
It depends on where the game is and what time of day. This Ultra video was at a more 'cultivated' residential area so its sort of boring compared to other areas and wish they had done it in a more interesting area.
In some ways I agree: PC Gamer's review said it runs on Ultra 'decently' with a dual core 3ghz processor and a Radeon 5800 (which is about on par with recommended settings--probably 30ish fps as 'decent' for pc shouldn't be any lower imo) which doesn't sound like its as intensive as I first thought (or anyone else)--good news for some and leaves plenty of room for modders but sort of depressing for those with high end gaming rigs as it means Ultra might not be qui...
Agreed, I love me some ssao but hate the aura it can cause (especially noticeable on light backgrounds). Sometimes it really is overdone to the point of becoming distracting (not 100% of the time but when it is noticeable it is more than a little jarring). The main issue I saw with it here was in the cave just before the "twitching" hands but some of it might had been by design to highlight the shaky effect.
Granted I'm on my phone ATM so screen size might hav...
I love the way Unreal's Skyrim looks and the ENB is stellar as well. Part of what sets Unreal apart though is personal enb settings tweaks and does extra mod work on top of it to perfect the desired look.
Granted not all textures are unique but Unreal is willing to put in time to alter some bases (grass was last I know about).
Personally I think they have 2 potentially great possible timeframes. The first is naturally post-Reaper and how all the different factions either grow or fight during chaos that war brings with it. New divisions are always created in top of the old.
Secondly would be a prequel which, if they went that route, should take place during early years of Human's arrival and either during or right after Turian-Human War. It might not be as epic as reapers but it could be a co...
If I was Rockstar, I'd release 360/PS3 and continue working on an updated PC version as well as a next-gen version at the same time (Dev kits are out after all and bet Rockstar has one somewhere). It would probably spur more next gen sales than anything else that's likely to be a launch title. You know a ton of people would leap at the chance to pick up a new, even better looking copy (same reason PC users will do the same--mods too of course). You know they'd easily make the m...
It's what I'm most interested in seeing too. Award shows have never been my thing but at least VGA knows what gamers want: more games ;)
Looking forward to seeing both some announced titles as well as hopefully some new ones. Especially PS3 as first/second party have a lot of unannounced projects but also something from MS... other than Judgement, XBLA, or Kinect as those are really main exclusives we "know" about for '13. If they aren't waiting ...
Looks to be the best dlc for Skyrim yet, by far. Can't wait till it comes to the PC although with all the games coming out next year and Farcry 3 I'm going to almost wish otherwise ;) So many games, so little time.
I've been wondering what happened to this as sounded interesting. Looks great but now I want an in-game trailer :) Gameplay would be nice, but story wouldn't hurt either (or both).
This video definitely ramped up my interest in 3 and alleviated many of my doubts. Looks great and love return to large areas to explore as well as more intense, smaller areas such as last half of the video. Basically it really does seem a nice mix of 1 and 2 which is what I was expecting and hoping for (1 was a blast but 2 did had some cool intense localized fights that 1 just couldn't match--both had their strong points).
They're playing CoD--already beyond help ;). Atleast PC users got a good game when they picked up a hard copy.
Actually its the first CoD I'm thinking of getting in recent years *cough* Think I might be getting sick myself...
As most have mentioned, it wouldn't really come as a surprise if they were already working on another. The fact Far Cry is a rather long existing franchise (cross generational) and after seeing reviews of 3 it was pretty much a no brainer that they'd be at least looking into another (and probably DLC as well) even before the game comes out.
I'm in no rush for another though (again, its not even out yet but next week should be a blast) as I rather prefer every 2+ ...
