Regards to Steam Sales and Sequels but I'm on my phone and can't edit the message now ;)

Not that I can think of, except of course for ones that already sold well pre sale. I was bored and turns out Viking sold about 750k copies (according to vgchartz anyways) between the 360/PS3 (actually more than I expected but far from a blockbuster).

It wouldn't take too much for it to top 1m really, especially after a few Steam Sales. Perhaps with enough support we'll get lucky (but not holding my breath). Even though profit might not be as high it would mean mor...

Disappointed by no HD texture pack for the PC but as decrypt said, someone will do it themselves at some point. Hopefully they will optimize a bit better and add other PC centric settings this time though as even without textures there are other options that can make a huge visual impact (again mods can do this but its not the same as having real Dev support). Lets just hope it wont be quite so bloomy this time.

If its only $20 I'll pick it up day 1 as thought it was a blast when it came out. If higher I'll likely wait as just too many new games still coming out. It wasn't a "great game" but it was a nice mix of God of War style visceral combat (more grounded though--where GoW is more speed and finesse Viking is more "berserker" style brutality that suits it and the character perfectly) and Kingdom Under Fire/Dynasty Warriors epic scaled battles (don't hold that ...

Think I'm going to have to just break down and preorder it tonight. I put off xcom and wish I didn't now (got it last night--love how it doesn't hold your hand and is actually difficult). Can't wait for Farcry 3 now though as just sounds better and better every day. So many games though so didn't preorder them all.

They're being completely honest: they used a blank sheet of paper but it was tracing paper on top of the original design :(

You need to look at it from a technical standpoint: that's one tiny card and pretty cheap for being able to run most modern games as well as it does. No way I'd downgrade from what I have but the tech is pretty cool due to its size and price (and a nice physx option as they say--and if your main card does die can be a decent temporary solution while you pick up a new or get a fix).

Something like that could easily be adapted for laptop use due to size and not inflat...

Maybe its just me, but that entire post just yells 'flamebait' as it has both no relevance to the topic at hand and sales do not make a 'AAA' game or franchise. A blockbuster game, yes, but AAA no way.

Its the same with blockbuster movies--they may sell the tickets but in the long run most are long forgotten when you ask someone 'what's your favorite film?'.

Think I agree with bigpappy about reveals.

E3 naturally is the 'big' show but the new Xbox in particular will likely be announced and/or shown earlier in the year, IMO. February (CES as Microsoft has been making Xbox more and more of a multimedia device as well a good time to show off integration with Surface and Windows 8) or March (GDC as first big Game convention of the year) seems likely to me as it could begin the "hype train" that Microsoft likes to g...

Disagreed based on speculation--although some it might be true or at least close. It's probably viable anyways depending on release date. Still, I'll agree that when I do pick up a PS4 it should be a blast (for exclusives anyways as I have a PC better already).

Probably because they're not open world games full of physics enabled items you can carry around and dump everywhere?

Its getting to the point where the differences are becoming negligible but that doesn't mean its not still progressing. Again as others have said, even if it hit the wall today what both consoles are capable of is more than sufficient and in many ways surpassed my expectations.

I admit I'm a pc gamer first (especially past couple years) but I still love the console exclusives and although they don't 'look as good' as modern PC games (even most diehard fanb...

I've been watching this game for a while and just can't quite decide if I want to pick it up or not yet. It seems like it could be good but just competition is tough this season. I sort of think it could be like Overlord and be a sleeper hit/cult game from the looks of it but if it was released around summer (like Overlord) it might have selled better (assumption as not even out yet).

I have a feeling it'll end up more like Enslaved though :( Good game but just...

Most articles of actual worth mention its likely a ram issue and if so its not exactly an easy fix. Coding can't solve every hardware related issue. But guess its another way Xbox gets new exclusive content...

I've turned more PC centric again though so doesn't affect me but I can understand the frustration. It just shows that consoles are beginning to hit a wall regarding certain genres and scope. Love it or hate it--Bethesda does have a ton of content and ph...

That's low even for politics. Granted I agree with the article about some of the posts being damaging/inappropriate for someone wanting to run for office; it's nonetheless more true than any of them actually say to get elected.

Plus MMOs are not exactly unheard of for political/diplomatic people as the ambassador killed in Libya played EVE. Just a really shameful way to try to discredit anyone and probably more effective than we'd give it credit.

His complaints with Hitman seem a reach--their based on his time playing a demo and not knowing ,its controls and levels well enough for the most part. I'm sorry but personally more interesting/varied options that require thinking seems a good thing to me. He said controls are solid but that they weren't clearly labeled which means once you actually start to play the game for real it should be fine (as I'm sure there will be typical "tips" as you progress for actions i...

Can't wait for Planetside 2. Really enjoyed the first one and have high hopes for 2.

I know what you mean as its true even for the best looking upcoming console games (GoW:A, Beyond two souls, the last of us, etc). They do look great but I can't help but think of what they would look like on PC or next gen consoles even. Resolution alone is a huge difference but newer/better AA, tessellation, physics, etc that consoles just can't manage now its no contest.

Thankfully console exclusives are typically gameplay or storyline heavy enough that they can s...

I don't really like the idea of micro transactions in full priced games but I have to admit it isn't really a new idea. As mentioned some high profile games already have it in some way and with MMOs it's becoming a rather common occurrence these days (Secret World is newest full priced MMO I can think of that has it enabled from the get go--granted it isn't near on par with more successful mmos).

As long as the transactions aren't required to progress I c...

I can see your point in some of the more frustrating issues--hackers especially but there are console hacks as well (but much harder to do and fewer people doing them). Hardware issues exist with every bit of tech to some degree or another though so it's not PC centric issue.

Drivers... I can definitely agree that they can be a pain (especially with first boot and for new users and/or features) but they can also get fixed/updated to add more performance independent from ...
