The simple fact its said to be a social game with a shared world means no matter if it is MMO by conventional meaning than it is only natural to require constant internet access. MMOs have done it for years and have been successful even before the internet was as widespread, fast, or stable as today's. However it might have a smaller player base because of it--but that's not taking into consideration that a huge number of gamers have internet anyways (just look at CoD... 20m+ gamers...

I'd had replaced something with Haze personally.

It wasn't as bad as some listed here but it wasn't quite what it should and could had been either--and like Lair was an actual exclusive. I can honestly say the only thing I really remember about Haze was it had something to do with Nectar and bee color motifs... and I had forgotten about it almost completely until reading this.

@CryofSilence. The only reason I mentioned psn servers dl speeds was you were you responding to a more general (trollish) comment about servers in general. That and the flamebait article was actually about multimedia and not gaming side of consoles so dl speeds are more important as it does make a differencs in which is "best" for some people (for multimedia purposes). Again its all dependant on connection and whatever is causing all the bottlenecks with Sony's servers for t...

I really do hope this turns out good as looks and sounds like some potentially fun times.

@CryofSilence: PSN servers do suck when it comes to download speeds for many people. I have a 30+ download speed and its practically a snail's pace for me no matter if I only have the PS hooked up to my cable modem. Not sure if it has to do with launch PS3 (a friend had similar problems with his), some hardware issue, or simply PSN itself.

My PC can download infinitely faster, my 360 the same, and even my cell phone on wifi can download faster than PS3 hooked up to the...

My main issue was each game deviated a little too much from the others. I have no clue why and individually speaking they were all still enjoyable but consistancy wasn't there when it came to core game mechanics (health and loadout especially).

My favorite thing about the whole Dev vs gamer expectations is apparently a lot of gamers don't think the Developers already have Dev kits or know what to expect. If I'm going to have to pick between a game dev's assumption and that of uninformed fanboys I think I know who I'd listen to.

Naturally games will begin to look better as the generation progresses but at launch its not going to be as large of a difference compared to high end pcs of today. However ...

@Kweitstorm: I know one is Saint's Row 3 as magazine ads showed the dildo sword--I didn't play it as just made it appear too juvenile in marketing campaign. No clue on others.

Hopefully Rocksteady is working on a next gen Arkham game then.

@Parhosverde3: I agree totally, but not all parents go through with what they say or watch their kids as well as they should so the feature could be an option a parent (or any owner) enables much like timers and security can today. Its simply a Kinect evolution of what MS already does with Xbox.

The thing is, if games are expected to look near as good as even PC games from last few years the size of game installs will actually be closer to 20+ quite often so it will fill even faster. 10gb is almost unheard of nowadays on the PC and a few break 30 each year (not just MMOs anymore). If true its only 500 and full installs it won't last long at all. I bet though MS will sell you 1tb+ soon after though ;)

Only cool thing I could see about Kinect like this would be as media player and child safety feature. You can already put safety locks in place but if Kinect could recognize people better you could theoretically put time constraints on a child's play time or deny them access to certain features (inappropriate web/app content/camera images), or even have online purchases require the adult to be present.

Granted I don't see it happening but it would be technically poss...

I knew you would have more disagrees simply because it was the truth and didn't put the ps3 in a good enough light. I basically just posted the same thing: the original Crysis was the premiere benchmark for years as it was the "total package" in terms of texture, foliage, draw distance, physics, etc and although you now find a game that can surpass it on one or two fronts no game has yet to surpass it all at the same time. That was what made it stand out more than any other g...

I sort of agree... Optimization for the first Crysis sucked (in terms of hardware when it was released) but then I also have to disagree that any game came out even relatively soon after it that could compete visually with Crysis (without mods) as a whol for years. It was the total package for years in terms of textures, foliage, physics, draw distance, etc and in some ways still beats most games on any 1, if not more, on the fidelity front when compared side to side.

The p...

I would also agree about animation--if its one thing Sony devs really did that blew the competition away this gen is to that extra mile on the animation front. I love many of their games and admit they look great but animation sort of stands out as a huge leap even though most focus on other aspects of visual fidelity.

I'll give K4 some credit--it 'might' look better than C3 (at times) as Killzone is more linear and heavily scripted than Crysis so can distribute resources differently. I still don't expect it though although reaching it is much more likely.

For those that disagree... Crysis 3 looks to be more open and have better physics compared to 2 (not sure if on level of original though). No Killzone game has yet to achieve the same open battlegrounds and level of phys...

The link is to the 360 shots but exact same ones are on the PC (assuming ps3 as well). I didn't disagree, just pointing that out.
