I'm pretty sure Bungie announced no timed exclusivity for consoles at launch anymore during PS4 announcement. That's what I gathered anyways.

Probably because BF is still one of its best games, even though it has been tarnished a bit going console friendly. I mean adding perks and such... I'm bit of a purist and some choices aren't quite right (although better than CoD's perk system--BF all around is still more "pure" than CoD at his point by far).

It has more to do with faith in Dice/etc than EA anyways. Sometimes devs are better loved than parent companies/partners.

The thing is... not a single one of those games play like Battlefield. Battlefield has very little real competition when it comes to its multiplayer gameplay mechanics. A few games have tried but none have been near as successful. Until we see a game that competes directly on the same scale and type of combat its not going anywhere as long as EA doesn't make too many bad decisions.

Although that can be construed a negative, it also could be that this Dev simply doesn't know if its better or worse than the PS4. Not everyone would be in the loop as multiple teams and might not currently be working on a next gen project (or not directly with hardware anyways).

I don't really know which will be either and don't care too much as long as games are fun. I've been playing subpar multiplatform games on my PC for years... J/K ;)

They could have the same cpu--but could have different clock speeds as well. Plus the basic architecture differences could be subtle but significant enough to make a difference.

ATM everyone is just fixated on ram as its only real surprise as not exactly a common design choice. Until we know exactly how their both designed its all just speculation and even then its still sounds like differences shouldn't be too severe (based on rumor). A lot of it comes down to what ...

NDA... Same reason that until PS4 was officially announced/revealed devs never talked about how good any specific next gen platform performed. They'd hint at next gen but wouldn't really say anything of real substance.

Xbox will likely not get quite as much attention though just because its not first--some attention but likely not as much as if was first revealed. If it had been you can bet many devs would probably had said the same as they've been clambering fo...

To be fair, PAX is a little more consumer/gamer based compared to GDC so not a big surprise. GDC is great time to see new tech but usually more reveal/insider shows in comparison.

GDC should let us all see more into what devs are capable of where PAX will show us actual games and get us more previews preE3. Basically, its a great week all around (month for that matter).

I wouldn't go so far as giving it a 2.5/5 but I can understand all the 7.5-8.5s for sure. Its still a good game but not as great as others. It is the least appealing GoW so far though (haven't tried portables so can't compare to them).

Played a few more hours... picked up nicely and story makes more sense ;) Just story starts off in a weird spot apparently.

Personally I agree its the weakest GoW (haven't played portables) yet but still in itself a great game. I haven't beat it yet but completed first 4 or 5 major locations so have at least played enough to get a decent early impression.

The story, IMO, is the weakest yet which is my biggest complaint. The idea isn't bad but not as cohesive as the other titles'. If this had been the first GoW it wouldn't been as "disappointing" ("weak link&qu...

I have to agree here: some games are simply overpriced as it is the "norm" at this point. Publishers need to accept not all games should be priced the same and doing so actually ends up hurting them much more in the long run than if they simply lowered prices for some games by $10, $20, or even more compared to trying to charge $60 for the same product. There is a reason almost every other industry has tiered pricing depending on quality.

Naturally there are some...

Probably end up being an 8-8.5 average at best so far by looks of it. Its not much of a surprise as more and more Franchises have been losing steam this generation. Basically its all coming down to fatigue as we need new blood now and again no matter how great the old staples are.

Even then, it sounds like GoW will still be enjoyable for those of us that play them so I'm happy no matter what reviews end up saying. I'm not disappointed by more 8s than 9s thus far fo...

Nice to see CoJ going back to its roots--I skipped Cartel for a reason.

First thing I noticed was FPS... its a TPS ;) But since its a real news outlet guess I'll be more forgiving.

Leap in itself is only "new" in the sense its a rarely used mechanic in shooters. All it really seems to be is a character switch mechanic with a new name (ARPGs beat'em ups like Xmen, Marvel, etc have had the feature for practically forever at this point). I still like the idea though as might add a bit more tactical options compared to say a more...

That's pretty much what they're banking on I think. Pirates and open world could be pretty cool--or really stupid. It all depends on how they handle it.

I actually like the idea but it could be in part as I was disappointed the Pirates of the Caribbean Action RPG fell through so have to get your Pirate on somehow. Plus AC's gameplay really does suit a swashbuckler as well as an Assassin so a bit of both could make for a fun time.

Hopefully other than just ESO they'll show some Fallout for next gen (can say its for PS4 at the very least) and maybe, just maybe, come out and announce Prey 2 isn't dead with a new trailer ;)

Its not dying out so much as changing. Its like how horror films have changed so much over the years where half of them now think a ton of gore and brutality is all they need. Dead Space is almost a perfect example as its not nearly as scary as they reduced suspense in exchange for more action.

To me one of the scariest games this gen has to be Condemned as it had plenty of in your face action but it was the suspense that kept everything flowing perfectly. First time playi...

@Gribblegrunger:

You do realize almost if not all "gameplay" we've seen thus far is entirely scripted or just video? It might look great and I'm sure I'll probably enjoy the game the same or more than I did HR but comparing the two is only slightly less ridiculous as the demo.

The first two shots and the last are actually from the exact same 10m video (give or take a few) that showed zero gameplay elements (started at a police station a...

My 680 ftw (2 way sli though) ran tress just fine--my problem like many nvidia users was tessellation causing crashes :(

Hopefully gets fixed soon as it does add enough for me to want to wait but even without tessellation it looks great. I'll probably just play and add it later or in next play through. I didn't get to play much but liked what I saw so far so just a minor gripe but still ridiculous as a bunch of cards are experiencing it.

Actually it looks like Dota as it predated LoL. LoL simply took the idea (to be fair dota wasn't first of its kind but is the most popular) and made it into a standalone f2p game.
