Personally I don't understand all the hate as some games simply cannot deviate much from the "norm" as it is not appropriate for the series/setting (especially as BF is rooted more on "realism" than most). Unless they changed the setting (such as futuristic again) it just wouldn't look or feel right. All the video really proves is that that its Campaign looks better than 3 (marginal at times, significant at others--I like less glare and lens flare personally). <...
*Translation: "I hate EA"
One video I've seen showed one at the end, or part of one anyways. I'm assuming we will but will it be flashback or not (or dream sequence type as in first) I have no idea.
The problem is many people don't take any responsibility for themselves, let alone those they are also responsible for. I can see where they are coming from (kids not always understanding how things work and rarely stop to ask questions in the middle of something) but its also just unresponsible to give a kid (even the best) unsupervised access to certain things and then be shocked when they make a bad or disasterous decision.
There are two easy fixes here: educate your...
Well its a no brained Bioshock won't sell as well as GTA but great sales numbers are relative to scope and cost of production. Every Bioshock has sold well to date even though compared to some series its still a fraction of say GTA/CoD/etc's. There are a ton of games/devs/publishers that would still love to have their numbers (both critically and financially speaking).
I have no clue if it will be GotY (haven't played it or the next 9 months of games) but from t...
The problem is differentiating this from the other Gears games. As a traditional "Gears of War" game it deserves many of its lower review scores compared to original trilogy (5 is bit low imo though--I can see 7-8s much easier).
If you can instead see it as its own game that just happens to be very Gearsish its more 8-9 though as it is fun and plays relatively well but I have a few complaints here and there specific toJudgement. My biggest problem is flow simply d...
A few days ago there was either an article or rumor about 3 factions and it taking place in the near future that I now wish I had bookmarked or commented on (easy way to find it then). They had a couple different Chinese weapons listed as well and after this tease I bet we'll be fighting China in some fashion (or in China at least quite a bit).
They could be taking a more BF2 approach (another rumor said they were reviving or expanding Commanders) as it was America, Chin...
Thanks, not too often I actually manage to make sense without coming across as confused as those that read my posts ;)
I understand all the hate for most of the rumors if they are indeed true and used negatively but sometimes its just rampant speculation run wild (which I hope is true in this case). I'm just hoping for the best and trying and look at rumors in a positive light as most of them could go either way depending on implementation. I'm sure someone at MS kn...
@Ravenor: Nah, wasn't anything about you I just get caught up when I start typing sometimes (on forums especially) and explain way too much and more than I was ever planning to. Half the time I go on tangents that are only loosely based on what I started about anyways. Its sort of relaxing and helps me focus at the same time.
I'm pretty much in the same boat although I haven't even tried multiplayer yet. It is a good game but don't think its going to get a...
@Ravenor:
I know, but that's also what makes it less of a traditional GoW game which is why many people have reviewed it poorly (or rather 'good' for most part) and why I know it won't be my favorite 'Gears' game even at this point.
I never said it was bad though, just different (not that you said I did--but anything not completely positive will end up being seen as a negative by someone somewhere).
I think this game a...
Pretty much have to agree--I don't want to have to wait for Project Eternity and other Kickstarter games to play a stellar party based RPG (or so I hope).
I've barely scratched the surface of the game and can already tell it won't be my favorite campaign.
Just something about it that screams 'ARCADE-Y!" compared to the others. The Star system doesn't help even if Declassified option is kind of cool as adds bit of variety but also makes it less immersive. The faster pace doesn't really help in sticking with GoW vibe as it was originally bit slower and had more weight to it too.
In the ...
The actual leaked document, from what I can tell, doesn't specify and everyone is pretty much just speculating or listening to 'unnamed sources' that will offer no tangible proof one way or another.
Personally I'm like Riverstar86 and expect it to work much like any electronic device with a sleep mode and an auto-update feature (or anything else for that matter--cloud saves, scheduled maintenance, etc... I've had phones that will turn on for alarms even if...
True, everyone is looking at it from the most extreme and negative possibility.
The tagline 'always on, always connected' is getting a ton of hate with very little information to go on. The leak itself didn't even say it 'was' always on--just that it had multiple power settings where it 'can' stay on and update in the background.
Technically my PC could be 'always on, always connected' in the same fashion--it actually is m...
Although technically true (power vacuum from entire pantheon wiped out) the most natural choice would be Roman mythos and those gods are just too similar IMO. Granted there are ways to take it new locales (Greeks after all were well travelled and in Ascension a few enemies eluded to that--Elephantaur especially).
I wouldn't mind a small break though where they did something totally new giving them more time for a full fledged and worthy successor to GoW3 (Ascension wasn&...
I figured, just unique way to tease ;)
Cool but also annoying as I sat there clearing over and over for a while myself (ocd... haha, dyslexic at times and knew "cod" was wrong when I typed it on my phone first time). Spots annoy me to no end at times.
Edit: stupid typing/mental problem for a sec.
I like it as its a cool tease before a real reveal. Bet on the 27th water is gone completely (or if really cool each day reveals a bit more and refogs slower).
I actually like the wipe away water on the site (touchscreen with my phone). I wonder if its a screenshot mocked up, concept art, etc. Just a nice touch.
I can't wait till Friday so we get PaX+GDC back to back. Really hope BF4 is great all around.
@Aliengmr: That was the original plan, didn't hear about anything new since PS4 reveal so may have to look it up for myself.
Personally I think it looks great but there is still a certain amount of glassiness to the eyes here and there. To be fair though the detail is insane and looks great from a distance (well looks great at all angles, just some are more 'fake' than others) and is always hardest to get right no matter the medium. The video (don't remember where I saw it) looked better although it also highlighted flaws like they usually do (eyes again being main issue). The video wasn't quite ...
