We used to have these types of articles about game pass all the time until Microsoft had to reveal the truth in court and we found out that game pass wasn't nearly as great as all these same analysts said it was.
Microsoft is hoping to fund what 28 or something studios and pretty much the entire xbox business more or less off the profit of this one game.
The truth won't be known for 5-10 years. But I am guessing this isn't going to pull in th...
Sony need to rethink its live service strategy after the success of Helldivers 2.
How about writing that article...
That guy left months ago, but it was a conveniently timed reporting of him joining Microsoft.
I'm sure it's all just a coincidence that the CWA makes a ridiculous claim, it's announced that he joined Microsoft and the x supposedly passed the s (even though mathematically impossible), PlayStation losing a lawsuit that numerous other similar cases have all been ruled in favor of the hardware/software owners and that a deluge of other articles bashing Sony over tri...
I wonder how many "journalists" are disappointed they won't be able to bring up this old topic again...
This is the most accurate comment in the whole thread.
It's clear the goal of this article is to convince people not to buy the Pro by misleading and misinforming people. The article has virtually nothing to do with what was actually said in the interview and is a full misrepresentation of what was actually said.
The number of CU's is only one part of the equation, the PS5 Pro uses RDNA 3/4 the xbox uses RDNA 2 and the clock speed is significantly higher.
Again, use your brain and show us your math. Prove all the computer scientists and manufacturers wrong.
You're right it's not 31 it's 33.5.
And it's a mathematical formula, they can multiply the the known performance of the parts in the chip like the compute units (which are known existing AMD hardware) by the number of total cu's multiplied by the clock speed to come up with the TF number. It's the exact same formula that has been used for decades for every chip from every brand.
You claim it's 17, show us the math. Prove all ...
Digital Foundry said that GT7 was a better looking game that Forza Motorsport, Microsoft cant even make a better looking game than a PS4 game.

Microsoft reports don't even matter because they don't report the same way Sony does.
Show me which report any of their acquisitions was itemized into... you can't because they hide costs in other divisions or simply don't report them. Meanwhile earlier in this generation when PlayStation was acquiring studios in each report it was noted that profit was reduced due to costs related to their acquisitions.
There are already at least two 8k games GT7 and F1 2024, there will obviously be other games that offer the option.
I'm not sure this raises any questions, the label on the box has no effect on game development, the hardware itself is capable of supporting 8k. The more important thing here is that the console itself has a proper 8k upscaler (not talking about PSSR) so games that are made for 4k or less will look good on 8k screens.
No, you're actually not wrong this time.
This is Microsoft using some group to indirectly harass Sony and try to put political pressure and even manipulate the legal system to work against PlayStation.
@Lightning77
As usual you can't see the bigger picture.
Microsoft doesn't want Sony's share of CoD sales they want everything that Sony has, they want PlayStation to not exist so they can have everyone forced to use them to get CoD and everything else.
They want xbox to have PlayStations share of the market.
This is correct, PS4 will still getting games and generating money in 2030.
There is no tech foreseeable that the PS6 could add that would cause a generational leap over the PS5 Pro. The thing that is generational is the chip that does AI upscaling but that is in the Pro.
The TF age is largely over, the next age is AI.

Yes the new CoD is on both PS4 and xbone.
"Wait wait did they admit to making base ps5 games worse so the customer has to get the pro version of a console to get better performance?"
In no way did they say anything remotely like that, PlayStation exclusives have across the board been praised both for their graphics and their performance on PS5.
"Wow again so the teams that made all those ps1-ps4 exclusive games the ip's that made PlayStation yeah that was the bad times but now ...
This doesn't even make sense.
But this explain it all.
"The CWA previously signed a labor neutrality agreement with Microsoft and favorably hailed the company's acquisition of Activision Blizzard (which, however, came with its own heavy cost in layoffs)."
It's so obvious when Microsoft is playing its games with the media.
Probably mad because they realized CoD on PlayStation is still way more s...

The amount of money they make from their own games or publishing games even in the best year is a tiny fraction of what they make selling other peoples games.
It tells you they are making revenue, which is not the same as making money.
PS5 is Sony's most profitable console gen ever after just 3 years, beating PS4 by over $36 billion in sales

Sony makes money selling software, the number of consoles sold equals more software sales for them. And they are likely sticking to the plan because the games involved are nearing completion, so at this stage they have more to lose by canceling the games than by giving them a chance.
"Microsoft is saying look we made 3 to 4 times software and services than what hardware would make."
That is not what they are saying ...
You are on point, that second article was a great read, filled with interesting information and graphs.
I bookmarked that, i had been wanting to see the shipment data directly from AMD for a while.
