Realistically, how much longer do you think xbox is going to be in consoles?
I mean, let's be real here, xbox is tanking, the sx is well behind both the xbone and the 360 and the chart is trending downward. It's hard for me to see any next xbox device doing better than the sx, the handheld is going into an already crowded market which already has game pass and all the same games plus the Switch 2. And another console has all the same ...

Let me put it to you this way, 5 years ago everything was off the table.
I liked this quote.
"After releasing the first batch of Xbox games for Sony Group Corp.’s PlayStation and Nintendo Co.’s Switch, Spencer is pleased with the results. Microsoft will do more of that, he said, and won’t rule out any game in Microsoft’s stable."
This is crazy I am arguing with one person who is so determined to not give PlayStation it's due credit they keep talking about different things and trying to say they are hardware upscaling.
PS4 Pro was the first device to have a dedicated processor to do upscaling.
TAA, super sampling, basic upscalers to allow 720p to be displayed on a 1080p, or NVidias basic display hardware are factually not the same thing.
Again, PS4 Pro was t...
Ok, we're not talking about image upscalers so a 720p game can display on a 1080p TV which is what the 360 had. You're just trying to confuse the discussion.
PS4 Pro checkerboard was the first hardware based post process upscaler.
It was the first commercially available consumer product to have dedicated hardware to do upscaling, it was before Nvidia's DLSS, AMD's FSR and Intel's XESS.
"Checkerboard rendering is not at all the same thing as DLSS, XeSS, FSR either though"
No one said they were the same, what we're saying is that it's hardware based and that it was the first hardware based upscaling solution, which is correct. It used dedicated hardware, which you agreed with.
And I would agree, that just like we see with PSSR where the same people who talked up DLSS are now trying to say PSSR and AI upscaling are "...
"No, it's a software based solution that the PS4 Pro had dedicated hardware for"
Right the PS4 Pro had dedicated hardware that the checkerboard runs off.
Nothing offered any type of dedicated hardware based solution before that. DLSS FSR XESS and PSSR all have a software component, but they are not the same as TAA or super sampling.
It's a hardware based solution, it's more like FSR than it is like the purely software techniques.
UnterArt
Those are software based, PlayStation had the first hardware based upscaler.
DLSS, FSR, XESS all came after Checkerboard.
Playstation has 13 games to put in a list in 2024... that's a ton of games.
The xbox list is like 3 games...
It's the best selling console on Amazon, it's been beating the the base PS5 pretty consistently.
It's selling better than I expected, and better than the PS4 Pro.
It's an awesome console, and PSSR really makes the image quality clean, and getting to play quality modes at 60 fps is great. I am really impressed with mine, and I expect it'll only get better.
It's hilarious how mad some of you are about the Pro.
The LM thing is fake, I can't believe people are still talking about that.
The LM goes into a reservoir, when the heat sink is pressed into the reservoirs the LM is locked into position by pressure. The reservoir is 100% filled when the sink is in place so the LM can't move.
Yeah, this is what I did setting up my Pro took like 5 mins.
The PS5 Pro is awesome, it's doing exactly what was expected and more. It's playing games 30 fps quality modes at 60 fps, adding RT to games that didn't have it, improving the RT of games that already had it, and even using the AI to enhance some games without even needing an update.
And the Pro has just released, it's only going to get better. I can't wait to see what games fully made for the console can do.
@Cacabunga
"PS4 Pro made sense!!! Made 4K gaming possible"
PS5 Pro actually has 4k that often looks even better than native when PSSR is used unlike PS4 Pro which had checkerboard but often made the image more blurry.
"enhanced computing power for PSVR"
PS5 Pro offers the same type of improvement for both PSVR and PSVR 2.
"had 1GB dedicated memory for UI"
The hypocrisy of these xbox fanboys telling you not to bring up the xbox when they came to an article about a console they have no interest in because all they wanted to do was talk crap... They're mad because the xbox is so completely outclassed both in performance and value.
I am really interested in this game, I have had my eye on it since they first showed it.
For what it's worth Bokeh is the group of people that split off from Japan Studio when it was reorganized into Asobi.

What is the end goal by constantly saying they still plan to put games on PlayStation and Switch?
Do you actually think that by saying that games could be coming to PlayStation and Switch it's going to help sell more xbox consoles for them or something?
I mean, since they started saying this, sales have only gotten worse for them.
If PlayStation and Switch gamers weren't missing those games...
