Good to see developers still showing appreciation to Mr. Freeman's ventilation adventures from 1999.
Impressive.
Cash-in people. Cash in. The Mass Effect way.
You haven't played the "old" RPGs then. Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, KOTOR... those were the gems that earned Bioware's rightful place in the gaming world as a developer. Mass Effect and now Dragon Age... they appear to be more of a "casual" take on the matter. Like a hybrid between an RPG and an action game. Don't get me wrong, I like them both, however, some of us do want to play an old style RPG in which we can immerse ourselves with mountains of i...
CoD might have set the standards for matchmaking, perks and killstreaks but that doesn't mean every game out there is copying it. Crysis 2 has the nano-suit which makes it completely different to ANY game out there. You can combine stealth, speed and armor instead of just dumb shoot/melee/bomb routine. There's so much variety to be had with the suit'ts powers... imagine mods where you get to fight with only strength modifier on... the possibilities are endless.

Seeing how my monitor can only support resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 I am not worried at all. I play the original on Ultra with 10-20 frames and High with 30 - 40 frames per second. So, yeah, bring it on!
Homogenization is NEVER a good thing.
We all know this was coming. Mass Effect was just a testing ground.
I never really got into Oblivion / Morowind but this does look incredible.
Wow. I would love to see a "Dragan" Age game (Dragan is a common name in the country I live in) ;)
Works now.
Oh God. They are serious with the live actors and not CGI... this is wrong on so many levels.
Exactly. Gamers have been spoiled by FPS mutlyplayer-only games like Call of Duty, Halo or Killzone. Still that doesn't mean that a game with a strong and memorable single player campaign should be condemned for not having a mutlyplayer.
Each game should be reviewed on the elements said game possesses. You can't "downgrade" a score of a game just because it doesn't have multyplayer. That's ridiculous.
What's with people and numbers these days. A complex opinion cannot possible be represented by numbers. So why get bugged out by "5.5 for multyplayer."
From what I've seen and read so far, Bullestorm looks to be a very competent and fun shooter. Sure it might be just dumb fun, but the developer's last game Painkiller was (more or less) in that same category but it turned out great.
Can't wait for Gabe's side of the story. Would love to see his reaction on this matter.
Max Payne and Mona Sax definitely. That story was so full of drama, tragedy and death it couldn't have ended any other way.
Then again I remind myself of the "tragedy named Max Payne 3" at Rockstar and I know there are worse things than death.
Touche ;)
Both games are very different in many respects. In my own opinion Dragon Age was better than Mass Effect 2 because of:
1. Strategy
2. Setting
3. Characters
4. Different Endings (seriously, the Ultimate Sacrifice ending is the best I've seen in a long time... especially if you had a romance with Leliana... freaking amazing).
Mass Effect 2 on the other hand had:
1. Combat
2. Characters
3. Dialog
4. V...
Again, I wasn't implying that the PS3 HAD to be hacked because it wasn't up till now, and I am observing this from the perspective of you regular consumer/gamer so I am trying to be unbiased. People need to realize that there is wrong in the world and they can't do nothing but live with it.
edit: Just to add one more thing - owning a PS3 doesn't make you immune to anything. No matter how much Sony claims their service "unapproachable" the reality can...
Nothing (and I do mean nothing) is unhackable. There's just no such thing. Like I've said earlier, the internet > anything.
Sony may have set the standards for security but that's the thing - there will always be people who will want to break the rules. I do not approve of this, but it is just as the world goes about.
I highly doubt people will remember Final Fantasy XII (in truth, they will try to FORGET IT). As for WRPGs, Mass Effect, KOTOR, Fallout and now Dragon Age... I highly doubt they'll get forgotten pretty soon.
