I just finished Rage and I caught myself staring at the monitor and unbelieving when the credits rolled out... worst, closure, EVER.
Man I know ID aren't really bought on storytelling but this is really just embarrassing. It was suppose to be a build up of some sort for a grand finale but let me tell ya, there was absolutely nothing of the sorts.
The two things that felt unique in contrast to the overall blandness and borrowed elements from other (better)...
So... err, the screenshot comparison clearly shows that they ditched the grayscale in MW3... OK.
Kudos on Legacy of Kain revival. One of the greatest game franchises of all time that's been neglected for many years and pushed aside by streamlined pile of gray/brown shooters.
Woah... who turned on the motion blur and bloom to the max? Looks great though it doesn't do justice to the overall dark and pitch black ambiance Doom 3 was famous about.
Man... do I disagree about Dead Space's Pulse Rifle... I loved the weapon, especially after the ammo capacity upgrade. I don't really get people bitching about ammo in Dead Space 2... shops and junk to sell were scattered throughout each level, and you could basically back track if you find yourself to be low on ammo.
As for my pic, I would definitely go with the grenade launcher...
Why is this game looking so freaking AWESOME!? And why I do not own a PS3! Why!?!?!?
Lot of people forget what was the driving force behind Max Payne's gameplay - the narration and gradual unavailing of the storyline (along with the immersive character growth process). Sure, the shooting mechanics and the bullet-time were great, but nowdays, every game has em and they've been improved and re-done time and time again.
If Rockstar is planning on Max Payne 3's success they should deliver on all fronts, not just the TPS action...
True, but with the amount of crappy remakes we've been getting these past few years, a true and awesome Deus Ex remake would be something like the second coming of Jesus in gaming... seeing how the next game set in the Deus Ex universe will either have to be another prequel or a sequel to Deus Ex: Invisible War.
A remake of the original would be... phenomenal.
The Legacy of Kain games have always been mind blowing in both story and gameplay department. Combine that with Naughty Dog's cinematic style of gaming, a shiny new HD engine and you got yourself a game well worth playing.
No shit Sherlock. What about XIII? Now that was an awesome deal... right?
Variety is something finite in MMO's these days. However, you can't really blame the leaders (WoW) for sticking with the already proven formulas (in the end, it is what people end up liking anyways).
I am up for anyone who thinks they can revolutionize quests in MMO's though, going too far might alienate the "grind-flaworing" fan base.
Max Payne has a beerbelly... and there will be a multyplayer mode... in hot and sunny Brazil. Sorry but noir in Brazil is something I just can't picture...
Yep. The franchise has been killed. Great job Rockstar.
Hands up who didn't see this coming... seriously. It's Blizzard.
The only company worse than Blizzard in this regard is... surprise, surprise... Valve. FFFFUUUU!
I smell a PS3 fanboy behind this. Oh wait.
Oblivion can go toe to toe with Dark Souls... We are talking a huge world with thousands different locations, quests-lines, enemies, items, dungeons... Skyrim is going to be even bigger, not to mention better.
Condamned is considered a normal game? What?
I love my graphic card but... c'mon.
The issue I had with the bosses was linearity - the approach was all the same. You just unload everything you've got on them and they die... Surely this is the formula for ALL bosses in video games but, isn't that just the starting, bare-bone basis of it?
A boss fight should be varied, with several phases if you will. That's why bosses in Deus Ex: Human Revolution failed in my book. There could have been traps, environmental hazards, spawning enemies, turrets, rob...
Darn... my 5770 looks quite puny :(
From (one, single) Spanish magazine. You know, the saying goes "jump fist, then say whoa" - let's wait for a bit, now shall we.
I don't doubt that this will be another great title (all the videos and screens have shown that) though I wouldn't go so far as to say it is perfect. Nothing is.
