It's Carmack. He and his team will probably find a way to "squeeze" DOOM4 on something acceptable, albeit a new console ;)
I am sorry, but the DOOM3 I remember from 2003 was like 80 % pitch black and 20 % "flashlight / swamp shotgun / shoot in utter blackness / swap flashlight to see if you hit anything / get devoured by a nightmarish monstrosity".
Well, those look like they've been taken from early alpha. Still, there is much potential, but we can't know anything for sure until we see some actual footage showcasing the gameplay.
1. Of course it is a reason. Why would you give your money to play yet another bland, uninspired, aged shooter when you can play an innovative, refreshing and interesting new titles?
2. COD has one of the worst playerbase out there. The fact that there are couple of million players that are mostly bellow 15 just proves that point.
3. Prove me wrong but, weren't there hundreds of different posts on this very website about new exploitations / cheats on ever...
This just in: "Call of Duty 129 discovered. Will introduce +1 bullet in any weapon!"
/sarcasm off
Bahahahahaha... uh, sorry. Ahahahaahaa... OK, OK I am done.
HALO greatest FPS franchise of all time? Really? On the Xbox, sure (rarely any competition there) but, *cough* Half Life, Quake, Doom, Unreal, Counter Strike... Freaking fanboys.
This "public debate" regarding the looks of Femshep is just as ridiculous as the male Shepard. Why? Cause they represent the same thing - preference. The stock setting for both male and female are there for promotional purposes. I believe no one played the Mass Effect games, without having to experiment with their own personal male or female Shepard.
No one really cares. Just pick the one you like and move on.
Gordon Freeman says hi.
Video doesn't load.
FFXIII-2 the best RPG in 2012? Whaaaa?
Absolutely. Well said (+ bubble to you sir).
Playing Diablo 2 as we speak and I just love how there can always be a challenge found in both Normal mode while leveling a character (my second Assassin) and gridning stuff with my uber Paladin on Hell difficulty.
The fact they were called "best" speaks for itself. Nothing is declared best if it doesn't satisfy all the required criteria (fan factor in the forfront, especially for games).
Of course, there are games that have certain flaws that might repel most players while attracting a niche that just can't get enough of em. It is a matter of personal taste in that regard.
What do people see in this game is beyond me...
Weird list to say the least.
Upgrade a PC on a yearly base was a figure of speech... but whatever, I'll play along.
Graphics enhance gameplay, yes, however, If you have read what I wrote in the comment above, it is just one element that is needed to complete a game. Did Zelda, Mario, Metroid or any other Nintendo game rely on graphics to deliver unmatched gaming experience? No. People need to start appreciating the art style and other parts of the process required for making a great game.
...
That wasn't the point I was trying to make. Yes, we have tons of PS2 games through emulators though half of them don't work properly and we play them, what... 6,7 years after they were released?
My point was that we shouldn't "measure" the quality of a gaming platform solely on the base of its graphic capabilities. YES, a PC will always beat consoles in terms of graphics, BUT you will have to upgrade the damn thing each year which costs a helluva lot mo...
The games people... talk about the games. How come graphics became more important than the games themselves is beyond me.
Nevaaaar!
What was seen can never be unseen!
Man, there's a reason why Valve are at the top of their game. Unlike other developers who seem to be only fixated on PROFIT and NOTHING more, these guys seem generally concerned about their audiences reaction and whether they are having fun with the game they are making or not. It is just awesome that they find talented people and share their ideas on building a better game.
