You know, I'm going to call Killzone 2 a sleeper hit. It's certainly an awesome game... but the hype on the front end and the fanboys really made me want to hate it. But now that I have come around, it's a hit. It hangs with the best.
But where it not for all the bullshit "best game EVAR" crap up front, I could have liked it from the get-go.
Ya know, I would admit to playing games like Killzone 2 more because the multiplayer is pretty awesome. But at the same time, I don't want to give idiots like rebirthofcaos more ammo for a console war.
And I have had my Xbox repaired 4 times. For free. By Microsoft. That means I did NOT rebuy it. That's the extended warranty. If you ignore that fact, you are officially a knee jerk fanboy.
And the rest of you are just snarky children who think they're clever. ...
Physical media will only survive until the digital distro services realize we want to pay for an enduring, re-downloadable license, not a single download.
@1.11: The public wants availability first. Only the obsessive enthusiast media cares about 1080p. The geeks can't stand against the army of eye-rolling wives...
@Ghoul:
You mean the same way PSN isn't free because you pay for an Internet connection that costs every month what XBL costs a year?
Go away troll.
Just face it, Killzone 2 and Halo 3 are on the same level. They both have great multiplayer and barely-digestible campaigns.
Raving review of a disappointing feature.
...I guess that will teach me to turn off your ignore flag.
You mean Home isn't about playing games?
You mean the purpose of Home is to run around, being bombarded by advertising and playing a handful of poorly conceived not-games after waiting in a not-line?
You're kidding, right?
Some recent pictures of Xbox Live Primetime lead me to believe MS is making their own "virtual world".

And this space is a bust just like the others. Why, oh why, am I stuck waiting for a poker game to open up while the two players left d*ck around with the minimums just to piss off the people waiting. Why can't we get matched into games in a differ...
Maybe Killzone 2 will help make some inroads on the Japanese public so they buy other first person shooters.
It was a great interview, and if you stopped to hear which console was "better" you missed the point. Toward the end, they say "the winners are the gamers."
It doesn't matter who wins. You have the experience that makes you happy, therefore, you should be happy. I'm all for a spirited debate on who's better, but just realize that it won't matter to anyone except the people who take it too seriously.
If you had a PS3 and a 360, why would you choose the 360 version over the PS3. I might have a 360 logo in my avatar, but the DS3 is far superior for fighting games.
Agreed, I have out-analyzed him several times. I predicted the 360 psudo-price drop with the larger hard drive wouldn't move consoles while he said it would. Once the numbers came in, I was SO right...
To play PS3 exclusives, you pay a $100-200 premium for the privilege. That's a fact. More and more third-party is showing up on 360. And it costs less to buy an Xbox 360. Therefore, it costs less to play third-party games on 360.
As long as 360 is so much cheaper than PS3, every former Sony exclusive Microsoft knocks loose has the effect of decreasing the value of the PS3. Microsoft owns the third-party multiplatform space because of their price position.
I love...
Live streaming the press conference would...
...suck, because I'd be at work.
I was a skeptic... but Home is improved, now that they added some decent games and spaces beyond the basic stuff. And the Xi ARG is pretty cool too.
I would still like to see people able to program their own content and release it, create their own persistent spaces, and link them to other places.
Joker was pretty dead-on awesome in MK vs. DC. He really was a trickster with his attacks. I hope the same tone gets carried over.
I must be a d*ck then.
Because I have both a 360 and a PS3. I play on both of them, but my habit is the 360, and the PS3 gets turned on when I want to check out the new content in Home or play some PS-exclusive game.
And the self-righteous Sony fanboys must be the assholes.
Because they don't want to "support" Microsoft by buying a console that breaks... despite the fact the Microsoft is positively gutting themselves to support that three year...
Hey, that's a great idea. Sony and their studios get to stop pretending their games actually take up 50 gigs, AND they do something constructive with that otherwise wasted space.
Seriously... I know you already disagreed with me, but here's the truth: the best visual effects aren't huge high resolution textures... they are shader effects... comparably small algorithms compared to textures. It would also give the Cell a better workout, justifying that investment...
*searching the comments...* Nope, just as I expected.
Sony puts a paid beta in a game and Sony fans gladly bend over and pull their pants down. Put a beta entry for Halo 3 in Crackdown, and Microsoft has broken some rule that CLEARLY doesn't apply to Sony.
Gotta love double standards...
EDIT: Gotta love knee jerk fanboys disagreeing with anything I say...
And on the 7th day, God busted a big fat chill on his new PS3.
