Certainly a good idea, but the tech isn't here yet. The head tracking system looks to be attached to the camera. I suppose some simple IR-emitting headband could work, but it would need a secondary system for syncing the reference points on the cube.

@DJexs:

360/PC exclusive-but-not-really...

Ah, the one hastily constructed peg-leg some Sony droids are miraculously still hopping around on. I could just kick at that leg by pointing out how so many of these games are PS3 excludED and be done with it. If you want to play in on a PC, congratulations... you will very likely be playing it on a Microsoft Windows operating system. Either way, you are supporting Microsoft.

If this is all you have to say, y...

First, people need to stop worrying about what's exclusive and if there is a score to settle. I'm up for Halo: Reach and Blur as my games to watch right now.

Second, the rest of the year, for me at least, has been eaten by Halo: Reach after hearing about the multiplayer features. It's Sony's turn to step up. I don't doubt they can... I just need to see what games they have in mind for Move.

Third, GT5 is a graphics whore's dream. Not much more. That's why I'll b...

Not likely. The slim will probably have a 60 gig. A 120 gig if Microsoft is feeling generous. A 250 gig and bulletproof hardware if Microsoft wants to win the console war at any cost.

To be fair, that's the base system. Not an add-on that in the case of the 360, is downright necessary. It's not like Sony is charging exoberant prices for proprietary memory sticks that only work with the PSP Go.

Long story short, you are the only one who can give these companies money. No one is ripping you off except you if you pay for it.

...Eh... better, but not good. A 120GB on an elite is still all you need. If not, you're a bit of a packrat. You can redownload anything you own, with the exception of rented movies. I could even get away with a 20GB if I kept it well managed.

I also keep sweet NAS file server in my house. Everything connects to it for movies and music.

Hummm...

See, I was braced for a totally classless snark-fest... but he made his argument very well and sounded like Michael Scott while doing it. Points for the semblance of style.

I still have my money on the Move.

...JeneraL seems to think he's funny and we care intensely what he has to say. We don't.

Well... as long as I get the money in advance and am held liable for not delivering the review, I can say whatever I want.

Someone should set up a site to do this. Hold the cash in escrow until the review is completed, positive or negative. And keep it anonymous.

I'm not sure you are capable of saying something nice about Halo without adding an off-topic jab at the franchise.

This is an article about MULTIPLAYER FEATURES. Not graphics. And to address your "concerns", fun multiplayer features like these will carry a game for years and years. Graphics will only carry your game for a few months.

Now, which one is really more important to the big picture?

5819d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

Are you saying every game has to have "bosses"? Halo really didn't have much in the way of bosses, except when it made sense to tell the story. When you think about it, the concept of a boss does nothing for an immersive story.

Now, THIS is undeniably innovative. You can hate on Halo. It might not be your thing. But if you can't see a new benchmark in multiplayer, you're blind.

Ya beat me to it. I theorize that Nintendo has these things rotting on shelves. None of the games uses M+ except for the new Wii Sports. And not very well at that.

This "good", not "great".

I read them because they shake things up, unlike the Square fanboys who worship the company because of one groundbreaking game, they actually stand for an actual opinion instead of a whitewash.

It's incredible how people get into Meta-Metacritic-ing. If your favored game or console gets the short end of the stick, it can't possibly be true and the criteria must be flawed. So, you try to change the rules.

Face it. FF13 is a steaming pile of everything that's wrong with JRPGs.

Suffice to say... this review is not for the majority of you.

However, I knew this turd was coming an hour after I started playing. Traded it to Gamestop for $50. Best snap judgement on a game I ever made.

Given the age of EverQuest, why are we expected to pay the $15 monthly premium that modern MMO's require?

5821d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Probably not. Gears was already stressing the 360. Epic had to convince Microsoft to put 512 MB of ram in the system. Imagine if the 360 had launched with 256 megs and Microsoft would have had to sell memory expansions, a la N64 Expansion Pak. I love my 360... and I recognize I owe a lot of its success and parity with PS3 to Epic making that call.

@FangBlade: I call bullshit on your "speaks for itself" argument. It has the viewer's bias written all over it.

You kidding? I keep telling people Move is cashing the checks that Nintendo wrote. They are keeping the promises Nintendo can't...

Great article all around. The love is spread evenly. I agree with just about everything here. Each one is full of fail in some way, but honestly, each of these have found a convincing niche.

Except for the HD-DVD drive.
