I think it's a little more than "possible". I predict we will have a very clear view of how the rest of the generation will play out after this E3.
Yes yes.... I can read the NPD. Please stop trolling.
This is great news. I loved Fahrenheit and it's great to see this game do so well, despite being in an unusual genre.
Of course, this article could have done without the fanboyish twist...
Hooray for over-simplification!
Let's go down the list here:
* Natal is an infrared 3D camera. Eye and EyeToy are 2D cameras, but Move adds additional data needed to make Eye essentially 3D but only as far as it pertains to the wand.
* A motion capture setup is a world of difference from Natal. In a motion capture rig, you NEED millimeter precision, hence the expense.
* A motion CAPTURE rig does not care about processing lag because it...
I know lots of people will disagree, but my request is to make it more like the 360 controller...
And to meet you, the disagreer, half-way, only change the following:
* Concave triggers with the same tension and range as the 360.
* Concave stick caps
* Tighten up the sticks... way too loose
As for stick arrangement... I would love the OPTION of picking up an official PS4 controller with the alternative FPS-focused stick arrang...
Look, I have no problem with betas, or even "betas". But when it comes to situations like Halo Reach, don't fool yourself into thinking you are doing anything more than playing a paid, time-limited demo.
@SPARTANVI:
There are several sets of rights: the rights to James Bond the character, the movies, Goldeneeye the game, AND the current rights to release James Bond games.
There are a lot of people who have to agree and there is no legal requirement for them to do so.
Not going to be a popular comment, but Blast Corps drove me up the wall. It was fun, in parts. But the dumptruck was the most annoying, finnicky, frustrating vehicle of them all.
And it's one of those games that won't age half as well as you remember it.
Look... first the Stane/Stark comparison is shameless anthropomorphizing and you know it.
Second, if Microsoft had dealt with the RROD before putting the 360 into production, they would have been in a much better position to fix it permanently.
Look at it this way: is it easier to tie your shoes when you're sitting down or when you're walking?
Kigmal: I can bet I know how an XBP with XBL will play out by extending the 360 strategy.
There will be two models: one with a 3G/4G-ish radio, but there will be a Core model without the cellphone-y component... but you can buy the component and plug it in later. Otherwise, it will have Wi-fi from the get-go.
I think DUMB is a stretch. You could have said the same thing about a console when Microsoft launched Xbox. Not to say they haven't had bumps in the road, but it's been a pretty successful product so far.
If I were to cite a reason for Microsoft NOT to make a portable, it's because the RROD has proven they aren't the best at playing the hardware game. But who knows... maybe they will learn a thing or two...
This is very telling to me... that the major gameplay mechanic that makes this game fun came so late.
I get the feeling Crysis almost flopped and they stumbled into a good idea. Otherwise, it would have just been a graphics-whore game.
Actually, I have a hard time seeing a PSP2... ever. If we do see one, it will have to seriously butt heads with iPhone.
I'm actually happy with PSP the way it is.
I'm very much a "first hour" gamer. Hook me or it's over. Most importantly, show me exactly why I should play during the tutorial. Don't give me story to compel me... I just don't care about story... but show me why the mechanics are compelling. If it takes hours and hours to explain even the most simple depths of the gameplay... like FF13, I'm gone. Shadowrun is a great example. They give you the entire tech, magic, and race matrix during the six-round tut...
I butt heads with people all the time in how incredible DR1 was. It got the details of a zombie crisis perfect, even if things like the save system were hamfisted.
And it was hard.
Halo will only be beaten when another game can beat the fan dedication. Yes, Halo has been "beaten" several times. I would even say Shadowrun beat Halo, in my opinion, because it was SO much deeper. MW, Killzone, Resistance, Uncharted. They ALL put Halo in it's place... but only temporarily.
Imagine if a boxer wins a title. As soon as he loses the title, is he disqualified from ever fighting again?
The fans will keep resurrecting Halo. Tha...
Halo will die one of these days... but it will NOT be because a game that meant to kill it killed it. It will be killed by something new, fun, accessible, and inspired.
And most importantly, unexpected.
I'll make this really simply for you:
If I find anyone is charging money for anything, I look at the money I have, how much of it they want, what they want to give me in return... and make a decision to buy it or not.
I have to make a decision. With my money. It's not EA sneaking into my room at night and stealing money out of my wallet. I had to fork over the cash, so I'm culpable.
If you want me to point at one thing that is ...
@kneon:
That's precisely NOT my point. No matter what Sony offers in the way of a "service", people will be averse to paying for it.
Look at what a flop Qore was. It was nothing more than a paid video "magazine" with a few demo and beta perks. They even pushed you to subscribe for a year at a time to get the really good perks.
As a side note, Microsoft offers Inside Xbox, an equivalent to Qore for free... to Silver ...
I don't see how the XMB could get a "redesign", at least one of the order of the 360's NXE upgrade.
I actually like both the NXE and the XMB equally. I find the XMB to be very utilitarian and to the point, but 360 has more dashboard features, objectively speaking. They both do what they are meant to do very well.
