Wow, this is surprising news. Not the whole motion controller update, I think we all expected that; I'm surprised at the idea of putting motion control in to Socom.
For the last 6 months or so, I've been condemning Microsoft for this, thinking they would be the one that would try and force motion control on us by putting it in to an already well established "hardcore" franchise, and now I'm shocked to see Sony "officially" do it first.
Plea...
Now that I've made that massive pointless list about XBL, I feel the need to make one about PSN. Here are the features the PSN has that XBL doesn't:
* A web browser
* Remote Play
Ok, so making such a short list is going to make me seem like even more of a PS3 hater, but hear me out. A lot of people (mainly 360 fans) blow-off the PS3's browser as pointless. Maybe to them it is, but if your PC ever dies and you need to check e-mail, pay a bill on-line o...
How is this the stupidest argument of this console generation? The network you play on has the potential to affect every single game you play. For some, maybe it's not a big deal, but for a lot of gamers it is. Your comment was nothing more than a blatant attempt to downplay the legitimacy of this poll, probably because it didn't go in the favor of your console of choice.
And for all the guys below me claiming people must've voted twice and that it's biased, that is the EXACT ...
I think maybe you should use your brain and actually read the article. It's based on percentages and has nothing to do with how many consoles. Average hours of play has nothing to do with how many systems are out there. Let me break it down so even a biased turd like you can understand:
If there are 5 PS3's that play an average of 5 hours a day, and 1 X-Box 360 that plays an average of 6 hours a day, the 360's average is still higher.
But somehow we are the ones t...
Somebody call the whaaaaaambulance. What does it matter if it's not on the disc? It's still free. They're just trying to combat used game sales. If they were charging everyone for it, then this would be a different topic, but you get it free just for buying the game new, so get over it.
I usually don't care who has what tag or ID, but it does become annoying in a squad based game like MAG or BC2, when I'm trying to ask a teammate for help, and I can't even begin to pronounce their clusterf**k of a tag/ID because it's mix or random letters, numbers, X's, and other crap that doesn't make sense. At least make it legible so we know what to call you... because if not, I don't think you'll like the names I come up with for you instead.
Yeah, I'm kind of the same way. I still would want to make every decision, I just wouldn't play every game. But I totally see what you're saying.
There are a lot of sports games that are like that for me. No way could I make it through a 160+ game season, so what I usually do is pick one game a week to play, and sim the rest. I know a lot of people don't like to do that, but if you think about it, it tests your gameplay ability, and your GM ability.
Any good player can win with a bad team if he's good enough, but putting together a team that's good enough to win even without you controlling them is another story.
@1.3: Ha! Good one! Bubbles for you my friend, bubbles for you.
@1.4: I LOVED NHL10, but I'm a huge hockey fan and I never played TheShow09, so I can't really make a comparison.
Eh, it's one guys opinion... and if you're one of these people that follow metacritic, take a close look at the reviews. For every single review that's below an 80, there's a review that scored it a perfect 100 to counter.
As for everyone claiming we have have to accept this guys opinion, you're right. We have to accept his opinion, but in turn he'll have to respect the fact that scoring this game twice as low as the average reviewer did, will bring his gaming taste in to que...
You know, I hate baseball... but all the talk of how great this game should be, and how great the pervious iterations have been, are making even me want to give it a throw. On to the Gamefly list it goes:-)
Keeping the game off-line? I didn't think about doing that; that's not a bad idea.
Or, maybe you could download the patch, and if it causes issues, delete the game data and then keep it off-line? Hmm... regardless, it seems there is an easy work-around even if the patch does cause problems.
I upgraded shortly after the launch of the slim, and I have to tell you, it's one sharp machine. It's quieter, it's smaller, it's lighter, it uses far less energy than the fat models, and all the pictures I saw beforhand simply do not do it justice. In person, it looks very sleek and sexy.
No surprise here, the PS3 Slim is almost solely responsible for the turn around of the PlayStation brand this gen. That paired with a price cut everyone wanted, what's not to love?
I simply can't wait for this game. Demo was great, reviewers pretty much across the board say it's great... only thing left to do is experience the greatness myself:-)
He didn't knock Sony's business model, he knocked the line itself as it pertains to business... and Sony didn't even use that line, the guy that wrote the article did... and he wasn't even talking about Sony as a whole, he was talking about his own views on their motion control approach.
Man, you fanboys are MEGA defensive when it comes to Sony and the PS3.
EDIT - Nice stealth edit BTW... it's cool, no one likes to look foolish.
It's a shame Sony couldn't have gotten this out in the Spring like they originally intended, because they really could've gained a huge edge over Natal. But on the other hand, the last thing I want to see is a hobbled together launch because they pushed it out the door so quickly.
Despite the fact that it still doesn't have an official name, I'm looking forward to the motion controller, and the games it will bring with it. Sony and Microsoft both have the same tall task of tr...
I keep hearing great things about this game (most recently from Game Informer) so I'm pretty excited to pick it up. However, I would not want this face plate on my 360, or pretty much any other face plate for that matter.
It's great Microsoft wanted to give you a way to customize your console, but in my opinion, the vast majority of these face plates look like crap when installed. It's grey... that would not look good on either a white or a black console.
It ...
I'm not saying Microsoft was the first ever company to do this (although I think Fox just put you in your place on that one) I was just saying that the fact that the 360 was the first console to have this small feature is a FACT, and yet members of the SFA still flock in and disagree simply because of the context of the statement...
..and I'm in no way defending Microsoft here. Check my previous comments, I've been pro-PS3 for quite some time, but being in here and seeing the ...
I don't think it's selfish at all. I've been a loyal supporter of that franchise since day 1. Socom wouldn't be what it is today without gamers like me that have bought them all and played the hell out of them.
With that being said, hardcore gamers have been speaking out negatively about motion controls for a long time, so Sony/Zipper's idea is to take maybe the biggest hardcore shooting franchise they have and build it in? I hate the idea.
Even if it is an op...
