I don't care about them, not for story based games anyway. This author is referring to an indie title that intentionally went for ugly graphics as a stylistic choice, but I've always found that even in the realm of the major release market (not necessarily AAA, just boxed-release, big commercial titles), Fallout New Vegas was always a bit of a dog (although I'd argue the graphics kinda has a charm to them) but is my favourite game ever. The shit graphics were not intentional but i...
That's it though....it looks pretty nice as a moving wallpaper thing if you park up....but don't you dare try to actually interact with the game in ANY way. The illusion just shatters immediately.
I don't care if they're basking in cash at the minute, this kind of behaviour will eventually come to bite them in the behind from the erosion of their reputation.
I for one am being VERY cautious before considering the new GTA whenever it does release -- getting a lot of warning bells from Rockstar at the minute. I think a lot has changed since RDR 2's development cycle (which, to be fair was unbelievably good)
If anything it proves why they shouldn't bother, they lost their talent.
I hope another dev rises to the challenge. Some team with the fire in the belly. With passion and creativity!
Sim racing is a bit different though, it's genuinely trying to act as a substitute for going to a track . In which case, spending thousands can seem more than justified.
For myself it's become more interesting than videogames themselves, as quality seems to have dropped off consdierably....whereas sim racing has generally just gotten better constantly (hardware and software, value for money etc).
I think this kinda thing is for someone who proba...
They haven't put a foot wrong with their major (increasingly rare) releases, but I fear that may have changed. My fear is that MP has just become their main focus, and quality will not continue at the level they have sustained.
Sony need to get their elbows out when it comes to their classic series.
SOCOM, Motorstorm, Driveclub, Killzone, Resistance...
Either that or more IPs.
I'd be very concerned they would screw it up. Just look at GTA: DE -- it has made a mockery of the originals.
Hypothetically, if R* booted Grove Street Games off development duties and sent some of their guys in to fix it, they could do that....but...they already have lots of peoples' money, so why bother?
Managed to get my puny PC to run it, was mighty impressed. It has none of the bullshittery you now expect from FPS games.
Really well done to 343 for making something quite impressive indeed, especially after the very underwhelming reveal gameplay from last year.
I had it a few years ago, they've really supported it over the years (whether for better or worse I couldn't comment). One thing though, I imagine it's very hard to get into it as a new player? Generally MP games get harder to join after the first year as the 'hardcore' community remains to make up the majority player base
Sony need to enter the FPS fray again. Third party devs are shitting the bed hard, and MS is really bringing the goods. Halo looks great!
Were you into other Battlefield games? Generally I see non-BF guys liking it a lot more which is interesting!
My PC is from years ago! Wouldn't get past the menu screen
Two wrongs etc...
Jesus, you have to wonder...how many failures does AAA gaming need before they change tack? Or are we just supposed to lap up steaming piles of shit that's being thrown at us?
Looks great. As an FPS fan severely disappointed by CoD/BF offerings I'm genuinely jealous of Xbox guys this winter, because this looks brilliant!
I would have been VERY surprised if it wasn't.
Granted I didn't buy it after that dreadful beta, but watching from afar this doesn't look good at all.
Exaggerated is one thing but this kind of thing is on another level.
They actually did with the beta, and if I recall right completely misrepresented the truth ("overwhelmingly positive response to specialists" etc...fuck me)
