It looks fun. As someone who just isn't that crazy about Ratchet and Clank or Horizon, I do kinda wonder why I bought the PS5 over the XSX...kinda a whim. I just use it as a PS4 at the min, and even then only for multiplat games.
Slightly confusing terminology, though perhaps the guy is paraphrasing or something. "Official" and "historical" should not be the terms used.
So this is basically like Balance of Performance (BoP) that racing sims have? Making guns/vehicles from all eras equal? Good idea, the first thing I thought with the WWII fighter in a dogfight with a MiG was "how the hell will that work"!
Although for some game modes it's actuall...
Modern remake of MP1, 2...YES.
But please don't make new ones, it ended so well. Great stories should end when it's appropriate.
I suppose one way of thinking about it is that they have poured ALL of their resources into multiplayer. Having to make an SP campaign takes a lot of dev time. Which -- for most people being a ~6 hour experience -- isn't really the greatest allocation of resources.
Considering that fact that a GOOD multiplayer experience can lead to 100+ hours for players, I can see the rationale.
Plus...Bf campaigns are a bit crap when you compare them to proper sing...
To be honest, if they just bring back the best BC 2 maps (assuming destruction etc is returning) this will be the only MP game I play for years.
I think it's a smorgasbord of TC games. A bastardization even!
Haha I was thinking the exact same thing from the opposite perspective: having this thing anywhere NEAR my office desk would be a detriment to my work performance so is probably not the smartest idea.
This is my position -- This thing, objectively, looks awesome. I kinda wish I had a 1 hour+ train commute or hopped on a plane every week, just to justify buying one of these!
Hard to imagine how this WON'T be a flop, assuming it's WWII.
1. There's already been a WWII CoD in recent memory. Not very good mind you, but that's besides the point. I expect this will be some altered reality version.
2. Warzone has cannibalised CoD, even though Warzone is starting to feel a little bit stale now, having only had one major and one minor map. No one really plays CoD MP and yet those who still play Warzone seem overall frustrated ...
Man if they did a super-pack remaster of GTA IV, Max Payne 3, MC:LA Red Dead 1 I'd play them to death. That generation of R* games was absolutely stellar -- and they came out in quite short timeframe from one another.
Rockstar has become so molasses-like with releases in the last 10 years, and have really centralised their releases (assumedly to allow their online offerings to stretch out for years). I think it would be a great move for them to start indulging in other ...
True, which is very ironic when you consider how outdated it is mechanically.
RPGs haven't really moved forward since Fallout: New Vegas as far as choice and real role-playing are concerned. It is mindblowing that they managed to make it in just a year and a half.
It's alright. Like 7/10...maybe 6/10. Still a crushing disappointment.
I don't think it's the game they envisioned initially, nor will it ever be.
That's mental. Fanatec are releasing a PS5 DD wheel later this year and will likely cost similar. You'd have to be crazy to buy this.
There is an issue there though, if the F2P mode really catches on they will certainly abandon the premium MP. It was actually fortunate that Warzone came out a few months after Modern Warfare as it completely took over once it landed.
Hm on the balance of things -- 60hz, yeah fair enough. Anything beyond that is just icing on the cake....
Great, there aren't enough independent AND AAA developers anymore
"Free to Play...Pay to Enjoy"
Is that the actor Shea Whigham on the cover art? Looks a lot like him.
Hey, add me on PSN (it's on my account) I don't mind proving it!
