People are using the term "rolling start" but that is an incorrect term. Gran Turismo actually has "chase the rabbit" type rolling starts, which is where the lead cars have a ridiculous lead to you and you must chase them down over the race.
A rolling start is literally a rolling grid where the cars are extremely close together. See here: https://youtu.be/vH_iKjlIQU...
Absolutely. And so close to a 10/10 after some updates:
-Add pov camera options. Or at least a dashboard cam view. It's so important for wheel users.
- Add more tracks. There are only like 3 new tracks from GTS at the min (this is basically guaranteed to happen though)
- Rework Sport mode. We need more than 3 daily races if they want to add tuning into the mix. Penalties are also too lenient at the min. There was a point in GTS where they were so close to gett...
Listen, GT7 is the first game I've loved in years (it will prob go down as one of my all time favorites), but I can actually agree with this guy on some of the points. It's a reasonable review.
They need to put the tyre smoke/dirt effects back in asap. Why did they remove such a cool immersive feature? Also camera/pov options please.
This game is so damn good. I do have some issues (very few new tracks from GTS, limited cam view options, and this new Sport mode needs a serious rethink), but as a piece of art it just oozes the passion of the developers.
The driving physics are not "unparalleled", and car sounds are as good in other sims.
It's unbelievable. I bought a PS5 for this alone and it just has the magic touch.
My only gripe is the lack of proper cockpit settings. We should be able to set up a dashboard view, it's the "natural" p.o.v of a wheel user.
Someone will be in trouble at Amazon this week.... Cannot wait for this though!
Pop that beauty on the PS5. I don't own a fancy PC but would love to try this.
Gears of War 1 is one of the coolest games ever made. A really unique blend of shooter and horror. The art direction was stunning, the music was excellent, and the overall atmosphere was really special. It also looked incredible back in 2006.
I really think Single Player DLC for RDR 2 would have made more money than RDR: O did for Rockstar. They should give it a chance again.
My expectation is that it will just look better, maybe more cosmetics and that kind of thing. In which case I don't care -- it was basically set up as a deep RPG game but then at the last minute it turned out to be a very shallow action title with RPG-lite elements.
I would doubt it unless they're intentionally holding back some surprises, surely they would have showed it off in the demonstration?
It's actually quite significant because there has been a bit of a lack of real pre-release 'content', so seeing PD/Sony reaffirm the March 4th release date is quite important.
Probably a G29 to begin with. Because the pedals are relatively light they're quite easy to just set up in a plug n play style (you don't need to mount them etc). If you live in a populated area you can sell them very quickly also. From there I would go straight to direct drive if you were really into it!
Not really -- I race all the simulators on PC but Gran Turismo is still my favourite. It's more like a work of art, even if it is less of a 'sim' in the modern sense (physics model is more arcadey, no tyre model etc)
I don't think so, not quite yet anyway. For me, it begins and ends with the first party titles, and Xbox just hasn't delivered them so far.
The Xbox brand operates at a colossal scale in terms of their subscription/game pass/Windows service, that isn't up for question -- but we just haven't seen that first party content yet. Halo Infinite does look great, I will give it that. First game I've felt jealous for as a PS guy for years.
Son...
It looks pretty good, I guess it's appealing for guys who want to flip through all kinds of car classes etc and a bit more grounded than the likes of NFS.
However, I don't see this faring all that well considering GT 7 is out a few days after.
It's insane that this came out literally less than a year after Cyberpunk. Clearly, the industry is not learning.
Consumers need to absolutely punish them by just NOT pre-ordering or buying.
Give people the options then! I don't get why pc guys only have flexibility like that.
