Because it spreads resources thin and ultimately compromises the game it "could" be (if it was next-gen only).
I swear to god, next generation is a myth at this point....nearly 2 years in and there's barely a trace of original, ext gen only games.
Unless there's something truly spectacular differentiating this game, I think Rockstar will really struggle to innovate like they have done in the past.
The two big ones would be multiple time jumps -- between 1950s, 1980s and 2022...that would be amazing and groundbreaking.
And also unprecedented amounts of enterable buildings. I think this is way cooler than multiple cities which are mostly just theme parks -- visual with no real interaction.
Stupid comment. What would you be expecting that isn't "boring"?
Rockstar said they only like showing their games when they're extremely far down the tracks. Given that their games take a crazy amount of time to make, that's probably a wise move.
If this is fake it's one of the best fakes of all time. I mean, like ridiculous levels of hoaxing.
I'd love to draw up a massive list of these maestros that made amazing games 10+ years ago and figure out where they've all gone since.
Crunch was always a thing, but I think it has gotten worse because Devs probably don't believe in the product. The reality is, the greatest games of all time were made like works of art by obsessive creators. The guys making GTA III at R* used to work round the clock, and Kaz used to sleep under his desk when he was making Gran Turismo. I'd compare it to the Beatles making the White Album or Steely Dan making Aja....artists whose occupation is their life.
So "cru...
I'd love it if they just commissioned artists to do whatever they like, I'm not really a fan of these kinda cliche looks. It's like getting a tribal/flame tattoo on your bicep.
I would argue it's the masterpiece of that generation of consoles (GTA IV and TLoU are definitely up there too).
I don't really like owning a lot of electronics so getting a PS3 would not really be a solution...but man oh man I'd love a remaster for PS5.
I'm not really too familiar with Harry Potter, but I imagine it would be quite difficult to make something like that as a minigame or whatever and actually have it be good. It's easier with stuff like Golf in GTA V
I feel quite confident this will be a pretty good single player game. I get this may be more 'amped up' than MW 2019 but I hope they have more claustrophic missions to boot. The Clean House mission was stunning.
For a videogame that's pretty grim. There's a weird unwritten edict that 7/10 is really "average" in the traditional sense; 5/10 is "pretty god damn shoddy".
It was 'the' racing simulator before racing sims became a thing. Basically back when the only people using sim setups were motorsport nuts and not really gamers.
I have to say, from that clip it does look like a rollicking shooter thriller. MW 2019 was a great campaign.
These kind of statements historically have aged badly, but I think Sony are right on that one, at least for the foreseeable future.
Battlefield did have a chance back around BF 1, where CoD was at a low ebb, but that is a distant memory now after the abject disappointment that was BF 2042.
You do have other shooters (loot stuff like Destiny, or tighter tactical stuff like R6), but they seem to be niche filling, but as far as blockbuster, accessible mp s...
Wait a min...was this THE rumoured new Splinter Cell title?
I'm sorry but the odds were that would have flopped. The reality is -- yes it would be awesome to get a new SC game a la Chaos Theory but updated to current gen....but that's not how things are done in 2022. It would have been some live service nonsense with mtx and season passes.
Linear games are my favourite but seem to be a dying breed.
This game rocked. It was so relaxing making a little garden and getting pinatas to... Dance with each other.
It's so weird how anything that's rewritten now has an automatic connotation of driving some political agenda.
I mean, as soon as I saw this I immediately thought "oh god"
