Gran Turismo 7 is all the reason I ever needed. Anything else after this will be a bonus!

The thing is a revelation, I just hope people see the value in it. VR adoption is such a tricky thing to surmount.

You'd honestly have to be a bit loopy to pre-order anything these days.

1. There's no need....like, seriously.
2. The risk of immense disappointment is huge.

We'll have to see initial sales, but I think gamers WILL respond to quality content. I only bought PSVR 2 for GT7, I mean...that is the power of a single title right there.

In a full racing rig, it's basically the dream come true. The word 'immersion' is thrown about but my god, driving around Suzuka at twilight in a GT3 car, it feels like you genuinely are behind the wheel of a race car.

This and GT7 are "the" firing shots as far as a proper VR revolution is concerned.

If Sony can pump out titles of this calibre then PSVR 2 will be legendary (either as individual games or fully equivalent VR versions of pancake titles).

Have only played GT7 and Pavlov so far but really looking forward to this.

This is very interesting to read after the article about GameStop having to shut down stores.

This would indicate that the demand for physical games is still there.

My own theory is that devs should push steelbooks, they're lovely display pieces and tap into the physical buyer market more directly.

That is an incredible update. I think now that they've pushed out VR and now Sophy, we'll be getting some really amazing quality of life updates (UI, lobby fixes etc) and hopefully new tracks

I buy physical only and I think it's funny that people are down voting you. It's categorically true.

However, I do think you'll always have physical fans like me. Like music, you'll always have a contingent of folk who just like physical media in principle.

Maybe if they actually became competitive as a physical game buyer/seller.

Their offer prices are a joke. I know they need a margin but it's parasitic.

Definitely not a scalper's fest. It's still a niche product so don't expect shortages like we do for regular consoles.

I'm really looking forward to trying this out with GT7, never tried VR before.

I wouldn't actually say I'm a massive VR convertee....I've literally bought it just for GT7. But I hope to be bowled over by the other offerings too.

Agreed, I find this with the subscription based platforms for anything. Movies (Netflix, Amazon), music (Spotify, Apple Music), it naturally leads to a massive overindulgence in art and you become a brain-dead consumer rather than a fan of that medium.

I say that with a dash of hypocrisy though, I can't bring myself to ditch Spotify, the music recommendations are great!

That summarises the plight of planet earth right now.

I thought the hololens thing was going disastrously though?

Well, they'll never be seen as the market leaders with that approach.

The premise of this article is simply delusional.

To think that a subscription model (hey ho) was in ANY way going to preserve your business long-term is insane. It's the definition of stagnation, and the antithesis of innovation. Xbox has been treading water for way, way too long now. In fact, Hi Fi Rush is literally the first glint of life I've seen out of the platform for YEARS!

No matter what happens with PSVR 2, Sony have signalled that only...

On the contrary, I hope we get more full-bore £60 titles on VR. It needs to stop being treated like some novelty spin off thing.

1238d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

Well let's be objective here. Sony didn't do enough to champion PSVR 1 as a must-have product on their platform.

They also abandoned Vita after a relatively short period of time.

Those are two MASSIVE reasons to be circumspect.

I bought it for GT7 alone, but now I've invested I now have "skin in the game" and I want to see VR thrive. And to me it seems like PSVR 2 is the last hope for getting VR mainstream in th...

I think they learned from Vita, they need to support the hell out of this thing over the long-term.
