Don't worry, they've still made profit, and they'll survive it.

I don't know about concrete data between Tsushima's 1st month and Yōtei'a

Pretty damn good results!

It's PS5's fifth year, and it still managed to improve hardware sales year-on-year in Q1 and now in Q2 again, too, indicating a very healthy pace & reputation.

The aligned gap of 2.1m units between PS4 and PS5 is still catchable, and I personally bet we'll see that happening until March 31st, 2027.

Revenue up, software up, PSN up!

Congrats to Playstation, and congrats to Sucke...

First of all, they should replace Todd Howard for that to happen.

Starfield could have become an (Xbox) megaseller and critically acclaimed milestone in the Sci-Fi genre.

I would have never let them work with CreationEngine 2 for that, but scrapped it completely.

This may specifically apply to Xbox discs these days, but not Larian, Playstation Studios, Kojima Productions, and dozens more.

What's your best guess?

My gut feeling - definitely not before 2035.

(Although I think they might wanna try shorten the production time after GTA6.)

It's easier to swallow keeping in mind that this has always been their plan in the first place.

Interesting & coward actually is, what they don't say.

"Yes, you lose ownership to games being on disc. Laaame! And get an account with licences back from us, that you can't sell or lend, either!"

I don't mean it exaggerated - they should tell people what their spot means.

Thanks!

So if I now pretend that my Q2 naturally included that ("until Q2"), it won't be noticeable that I didn't know that, you say?

152d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

That's for their Q2:

• 7.2 billion USD in revenue (up 110%)
• 950 million USD in operating profit (up 19.5%)

I think 'It happens on PS5' is a well-done reversal at 'Everything's an Xbox'.

But as far as their directing goes:

Universally, with very few exceptions depending on the product, I think humor + well-placed catchy music is the best way to promote.

Just think of their ads with Kevin Butler.

'Game Pass' losing' fits, too.

Interesting to know.

Among MGS4, Agent was the reason I wanted and bought a PS3. (Who knew we would get other gems like Killzone 2 and TLoU.)

I always assumed it got cancelled due to hardware restrictions even at that time.

This rumour got blocked on r/xbox.

Who on God's green Earth plays Redfall.

They've paid 7 billion for Redfall. Stripped it off of Playstation. And Redfall didn't return anything but bad PR.

Genius.

By the way, just for fun:

Microsoft paid 7 billion dollars for Redfall.

In other currency:

That's 40x Concord.

Reaper

You know as well as I do that 'concern' is something we can comfortably switch off sitting on our sofas.

That's our benefit, if you will, watching capitalism unfold.

But:

I absolutely, with no hesitation admitting to it, from my sofa won't allow Microsoft to just pour their numbers and PR BS everywhere without context.

The same with comments like yours avoiding context, and cy...

"while operating income was $38.0 billion, up 24% year-on-year"

Between last year's Q1 vs this year's Q1, Microsoft laid off ~17.000 employees.

Congrats to their operating income being up 24%.
