Wouldn't you agree that the main portion (>90%) of the Horizon sales are tied to Zero Dawn and Forbidden West?
Or asked differently:
Point us towards the sales of the VR and Lego game combined!
Spread across two main entries of the franchise, it just is a very respectable success, isn't it.
Although I personally didn't click with the Horizon games, I can a) clearly see the appeal of it. From art direction and technical brilliance.
And b) - I am so happy for Guerilla Games that they've created an IP that's finally been giving financial success back to them and SIE.

In this year packed with so many worthy games, they should probably just go with the highest rated game this year to end every exhausting discussion right away.
Financially, Asus probably made a good deal. I don't think they would have agreed to do this line if they'd had to subsidize it.
Good for them.
I never ever had a gaming PC. And in my Steam app after 15 years, I do only own like 8-12 games.
If this Steam box comes with a good price, I'll finally put something PC'ish next to my PS5.
I think Valve have put together something beautiful here, powered by a perfomative GamingOS.
PS5 is now the only Playstation gen so far that has even outsold two consecutive Xbox gens combined.
(I go with KeplerL2's claim that the Series consoles didn't even ship 26m units as of 2024 and that it's, and I quote, "... actually worse than I thought.")
For that to happen, they'd need to ship 5.8m units from October to December.
I think that's pretty likely.
I assume in November they're going to sell ~4m units alone. And in December probably somewhat around ~3m units.
(If we'd assume hardware sales will be up again, then they will even sell more than last year's combined 7.5m units in both months.)
And that would be enough already. And would still...
You Xbox ultras are so ridiculous.
Must be those years and years of Xbox execs promising you everything. And delivering you nothing.
I always click on his profile too late. 😭 It's the same guy, I now know.
@lodoss
Well, it's not, which ofc you do know, I know.
Yōtei is a PS5-only 1st party game - that's a 100% cut for Sony (at least digitally), with Yōtei's budget being reported at 60 million USD.
3.3m copies sold so far should be ~200m USD in revenue, minimum.
Source? Just post the link, no revolt.
And IF that is true:
That's not even 1m units ahead of Yōtei, which wasn't a cross-gen game, which didn't have the same install base as Tsushima had, which wasn't released during a worldwide lockdown.
On the contrary, thank you for this data (link please?), because it puts Yōtei's 3.3m into an even better perspective.
But ... the interesting number is at 32 days for Tsushima, isn't it. What was ist?
And, no - you have to take into account different release dates, install bases, COVID.
And that Tsushima was released the same year as PS5. So it was a cross-gen title.
Yōtei is a PS5 only game. Selling 3.3m units in just 30 days. Surrounded by slobberknockers like BF6 and Mario.
I get the picture you're trying to draw, but, or ...
By how much did Tsushima better in its first 30 days?
Adjusted for different points in time of their release, I personally think 3.3m units in 30 days is just great - for a PS5 only game. Which Tsushima wasn't.
I'm happy for Sucker Punch!
.
Don't worry, they've still made profit, and they'll survive it.
I don't know about concrete data between Tsushima's 1st month and Yōtei'a
Pretty damn good results!
It's PS5's fifth year, and it still managed to improve hardware sales year-on-year in Q1 and now in Q2 again, too, indicating a very healthy pace & reputation.
The aligned gap of 2.1m units between PS4 and PS5 is still catchable, and I personally bet we'll see that happening until March 31st, 2027.
Revenue up, software up, PSN up!
Congrats to Playstation, and congrats to Sucke...
First of all, they should replace Todd Howard for that to happen.
Starfield could have become an (Xbox) megaseller and critically acclaimed milestone in the Sci-Fi genre.
I would have never let them work with CreationEngine 2 for that, but scrapped it completely.
This may specifically apply to Xbox discs these days, but not Larian, Playstation Studios, Kojima Productions, and dozens more.
What's your best guess?
My gut feeling - definitely not before 2035.
(Although I think they might wanna try shorten the production time after GTA6.)
According to KeplerL2, Series consoles could be at ~26m-28m shipped.
I unfortunately don't think that VGChartz' estimates for sell-through of the Series consoles are anywhere near the truth.
Yet Microsoft don't make it easy either, since they don't even report shipment figures and they inflate their hardware revenue with revenue coming from accesories, too.
So since Series sell-through estimates are calculated by hardwar...
