«Sony has won the console wars»
They undeniably have.
Yet still they don't have to gift any of their upcoming exclusives to PC, Steam Machine and Xbox Helix.
All of Playstation's exclusive games, IF made available on these three systems, will instantly give those systems another USP to be bought instead of a Playstation.
I can go on and repeat it over and over again. It would definitely harm Playstat...

«Where is the actual loss in hardware that sony has suffered?»
How would we, both of us, really know?
Yet I do claim that going forward, looking at recently released Ghost of Yōtei, upcoming Saros, Wolverine and Intergalactic (probably not so much their games already released on PC, but still), that these mentioned games actually do carry the potential of selling additional hardware.
And again, at l...
If you build a console and choose to release your exclusive games on PC, you get people waiting for the PC release. No matter if you wouldn't release it on PC eventually, unless you'd communicate it.
If you build a console and choose to release your games exclusively to it, you build the so called ecosystem. Revenue starts coming from hardware, software, subs, MTX. All through your store. You know that of course, so I don't wanna lecture about it.
Not releasing games on PC would lose them software revenue.
Releasing games on PC would lose them hardware revenue (and, consequently, software revenue). Especially with Steam Machine and a Windows driven Helix on the horizon.
Sony's choice, if true, is pure business. Nothing to get emotional about.
And secondly, Playstation games have always been exclusive to Playstation. Their (shortlived) PC strategy in comparison never was th...
After Death Stranding 2, Metal Gear Solid Delta and Ghost of Yōtei been covering my past 9 months taking my time in extended playthroughs, Starfield for me personally doesn't come at the right point in time anymore. 2026 is packed.
Second of all, since Bethesda developed it multiplatform, then it got bought, then it went exclusive, then it failed to accelerate Xbox, then Microsoft pulled the plug and are now asking for money - I renounce gladly. I actually always do wit...
So his work was not fruitless and went into another bigger project ND are working on besides Intergalactic.
While it's sad another Faction won't come, I think it's a good thing that, whoever made that decision, TLoU's newest online multiplayer wasn't put forward as GaaS.
It would have watered the TLoU IP badly in my opinion. And it's a good thing that God of War was spared the same.
What do you assume their ports cost them? 300 million?
There ain't a single ounce in my wishing for a PS6 in 2027. And even if there was, I'd advocate to postpone the release given the current market dynamics.
Sony shouldn't panic and shouldn't force a 2027 release.
I 99% think your theory will turn out true.
Remember, anyone?

The same as you can tell that Sony once bought Naughty (but created new IP), it's as valid to simply state the fact that Microsoft bought publishers AND their IP - and simply keep publish them.
Substract all of those since 2020, and then you're left with only Halo, Forza and Gears once again.
Xbox have done literally nothing since 2020 in the IP creation side of business.
They simply took the fruits from others, own them now, k...
Substract the IPs they've simply bought, and there it is, Microsoft's true output.
Within the span of 10 months, we will have gotten Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Yōtei, Marathon and Saros. To be continued by Wolverine and Phantom Blade Zero coming from Sony's CHP in the 2nd half of this year alone.
I don't know what kind of lineup some of you need.
Blundell was a former COD veteran dev. He and the studio were reportedly working on a new live service game.
But since Call of Duty is currently dying under Microsoft's regime, Sony probably thought they ain't gonna need another live service shooter anyway and closed the studio.
"Why not under heir own account?“
Because the integrity of his main account is basically zero at this point.
Obscure made up 100 theories before, at the beginning and during this gen, and oh boy he had fought for them.
But 99 of them turned out false. Being wrong doesn't bother him too much. But being confronted does. He avoids it.
I really don't understand why Obscure is so obsessed with N4G.
Year-on-year;
• PS5: -19.2%
• X|S: -51.7%
• SW1: -62.8%
I am so much looking forward to both Xbox and Playstation's next fiscal year reports until this gen ends, not to mention the one of GTA6's release.
Damn, that's going to be brutal for Xbox.
@Foxtrot
In hindsight it's true comedy gold. But I also must sigh a little bit about how we all were berated by Obscure, and how exhausting it sometimes was.
Just look at this:
Obscure: "Sarah just confirmed that a new and *POWERFUL* next gen Xbox console is in development so to release big flagship games on competition´s consoles to damage and devalue the Xbox brand and its console itself, only makes sense in the mind of ...
«You think them releasing almost 90% of their entire ps5 exclusive portfolio on PC was just out of kindness or a gift?»
No. They wanted revenue. They got it. But it appearantly didn't reach their expectations.
«that was the past and now currently plans have changed»
Exactly.
And a new change of the current state will happen very soon again, with Xbox Helix and Steam Machine.
