agreed with both your post Edmix- Nintendo has to create a viable situation for 3rd parties to have meaningful participation - I m just not sold they want more than moderate 3rd party support - if they did not make it happen (to some extent) w Wii u when they were struggling with getting games out then i don t know what situation it will take for them to do so

well said Monkeyman- i agree with everything you said and how you said it (and i can t always say that (:

My son and i really looked forward to more asymmetrical game play after the few little teasers in some of the Nintendo Land games- There is so much more the Wii U could have been- if Nintendo and 3rd parties had taken advantage of it- its like Nintendo saw what it could be, talked about, teased, it but never jumped in full speed a head- Even though they had/h...

This article should be titles " A day in the Mind of a Nintendo Fan Boy" - the guy being interviewed (from the old Nintendo mag) was blaming many of the problems of the wii image and wii u sales on gamers as well as Nintendo s poor imaging- But Nintendo did alot more wrong with the wii u than just poor imaging

They both treated the Vita/Wii U poorly and it is hard to believe the Wii U still could not outsell the Vita
I don t think Nintendo could sell that few consoles and so little software (total software) again if they tried - it is really unbelievable

They should have named the Wii U "Kamikaze"

they may- but they are sure making it difficult on themselves - it will be an up hill battle

there is very little "normal" about Nintendo s treatment of the Wi U and Wii U owners

As someone who bought the Wii U at launch, i don t care nearly as much "how long" Nintendo or anyone support their console, I care about "how much" support the console received during its life span and how much effort was put in it and of course the depth, breadth and quality of the library- (including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party games, Indies etc)
Nintendo barely supported the Wii U its 1st year via games and marketing and it has barely supported it since before e3 ...

Nintendo did not leave the wii u to third parties to "give them a chance to sell software". Per Myamoto and Iwata s own statements they were having difficulty making HD games- The only playable demo in store kiosk shortly before and for a while after launch was Rayman Legends
Ubisoft did more for The Wii U s launch "year" than Nintendo

I ll give you this Cali88- you do seem sincere and you do care for Nintendo- But many (I m sure not all) the people that have issue with Nintendo and their handling of the wii u both now and going back to pre launch, also care about Nintendo- You are happy with them but you are not in the majority- If they do not learn to please more current, future and potential owners of Nintendo consoles, they will either
A) not be in the console business too much longer because their investors...

it s a bad idea- or a bad sign of things to come re the NX- either way there is no reason to try and spin it- i doubt they intended on missing e3 w the NX and they damn sure did not choose to release it in March instaed of the holidays- they clearly were not ready to release it for the holidays

some of you guys act like the wife/girlfriend of physical abusers- no matter how bad they treat you, now matter how hard they beat you- everyone around you can see what is going on- but you say "NO NO! they really are good, they really care! they really love me"
Do t let a company treat you like a victim and for goodness sake don t don t praise them for doing so-

I bought a wii u at launch- so i got burned too but I damn sure have not been congratul...

Sales died immediately after the 1st 2-3 months after launch- 3rd partes are the resposibility of the console make to get in line and make it worth their effort to support- You answered your own question about 3rd parties- Why would a 3rd party support the Wii U when Nintendo would not give close to full support to it and it s NINTENDO s console- By your logic you think 3rd parties and consumers should support/be happy with the WII U but its totally reasonable that Nintendo drop it like ...

they are supported more than Nintendo has in the past but not as much as their competitors

anyone ever notice the similarity s in the behaviour patterns of abuse victims and hardcore Nintendo fans re their relationship w Nintendo?

for the record i am not comparing the seriousness of the two issues, only the common behavior patterns

Nintendo is not "frank" about anything with the exception of Kimasimi making it official (about a year after the fact) that they are done w the wii u-
There are few companies as self serving w their pr as Nintendo- If they were really honest they would have told everyone they were not going to put much effort in the Wii u before it launched
