Not releasing much software at the beginning and at the end of the WiI u s lifetime was disrespect enough- it s not like they are using this extra time to do anything of significance for the Wii u other than delay Zelda again so it can release on the eNX
they were telling fans not to buy a wiiu the day they mentioned NX by name- but they know they have plenty of fans and parents that don't know any better they can always take advantage of- they will probably repackage the 3DS again this holiday and sell a few million more to the same people who have already bought 2 or 3+ 3DS s
Of course its the reason they delayed the game- Wii U owners- particularly the ones of us that bought it at launch are getting 2nd class treatment by Nintendo again- Delaying Zelda even more so they can to a dual release for NX, taking what once were going ot be wiii u games and moving them to NX - basically the 1st 1.5 years saw little from Nintendo for the Wii U due to their incompetence and not being fully behind the Wii u- now the 2nd 1/2 of the Wii U s life span are 2nd choice game...
additionally we are not talking about just "any game" before its e3 reveal Starfox had big expectations as a loved Nintendo franchise- After e3 expectations were tempered but the tone of reviews (for all practical purpose) so far leans toward the negative all things considered

the metaceitic is about 72 i think so the reviews were mostly mixed to neagative
i think Nintendo can get some of those exclusives but they will have to mitigate the risk of those developers at least until they can prove those titles will sell
price is a big factor no doubt- and power can/does add to the price but it is not the power that hurts sales it is the price (at least in the example you gave)
The PS4 is a good example of what can happen when you combine power with a competitive price
Just because the system w the most power has not typically sold the most, does not mean being the most powerful is the reason- I m pretty sure being powerful is not the reason at all those systems did not sell the most

i never said anything about the others 1 way or another- But Nintendo putting games on mobile is a 1st step toward 3rd party- how many more steps they take in that direction remains to be seen
most of the highest grossing games on mobile are free to play- the top free to play mobile games right now have higher revenue per day than Mitomo had in a week -
it is too early to say how Mitomo is doing -
They already are going 3rd party partially by putting games on mobile- that does not mean they won t keep a console but mobile is def 3rd party
The relatively small profits they have made in recent years has not offset teh losses they have taken over the same time frame, addittionall, the years they have made a profit (recently), they have paid even more toward dividends-
Yes, they still have ALOT of cash and are not in danger of going BK anytime soon- the issues will come from stockholders demanding a better return on capital and for Nintendo to grow again- something they have not dones since 2008+/- (maybe 2009) ...

Nintendo also talked about multiple game pads and game pads sold separately - nope never happened (unless you live in Japan- you can buy a seperate game pad there)

they always say similar type statements about existing/pending consoles- both home and handheld the NX is their next console - it will be different than the wii u- how we don t know- wil it be better or worse- we don t know - We do know Zelda U is being delayed due to the NX and that most of the effort that should have been put toward the Wii u has been shifted to the NX prematurely because wii u sales of both hardware and software (i m talking overall software totals- not specific games)...
