which part are the disagrees disagreeing?
the comment below in quotes is fact - the rest of my post is opinion/observation (other than the EA part)
"the only comments Nintendo have made re the NX point to them targeting the Family/youth/female market..."
i m not convinced many if any western devs actually know what the NX is- or have seen it- they may have or be privy to part of the NX but few comments from devs have (w the exception of Ubisoft) sounded like they had an idea what the NX is
EA has said we will "wait and see"
i don t see any of the dev comments so far being different than the prelude to the wii u- doesn t mean the NX will be good or bad but i would not read anything into what devs have said ...
"Yes" change is good and change is bad- The headline of this article says nothing, asks nothing and answers nothing
people not getting their game is a mark against the MN9 kickstarter! And YES the people who funded the game should feel ENTITLED to receive it even if the game does suck!
Kickstarter is not an investment - not even close, it is a donation or gift
$4 million is one of the largest if not THE largest Kickstarter rip off s so far-
there are still people who have not rcvd their MN9 game yet- the Wii U version is nearly unplayable for some nd other consoles have not had the game released yet- there is no way they spent anything close to 4$ million on MN9- Just look at ShovelKnight to see what competent/honest developers can do with far less funds
MN9 was a scam because they have ot been or were honest with the people who supported the kickstarter- Far better games have been made for far less money by far les...
All you need to know about Kickstarter: You are GIVING your money to a person/company with NO accountability to you in any way shape or form- They do not have to be competent (and often are not), they don t have to follow the kickstarter "rules" (and often do not), they don t have to spend the money on what they have sad they are or have implied they are going to spend it- Kickstarter is not an INVESTMENT!
Having said the above, there are some people/companies on kicks...
Most OBJECTIVE people would agree that Nintendo s decisions re e3, the huge gap between effectively killing off the WII-U and revealing (Much less releasing the NX), and not saying, showing, presenting etc ANYTHING about the NX are questionable at best and highly problematic at worst- (for the reasons Nintendo have provided so far) However, I think they are having some real issues/problems with the NX that have not been discussed or revealed by Nintendo- If we knew what they were, then we ...
I agree that is a bs reason- and Sony or MSFT would not try to IMPLEMENT a feature in their systems just because Nintendo has it- they would only do so if that feature is extremely successful and even then- they may hesitate after their experience with Move and Kinect (temporary success but not something that added value to their ecosystems/brand long term)
exactly right- I m a little surprised crowdfunding is even legal ( I m not saying it should not be legal- just surprised it is) - If the sums of money were larger and we started getting stories about people loosing their homes or something over crowd funding- it would be regulated or even illegal- but since it is relatively small amounts of money it is a "who cares" kind of thing (w the exception of the people and companies making millions from it-)
I imagine there will...
most people that write stories like this do it for the clicks, the controversy, to follow a trend they think is hip or something even more shallow and/or to push a political agenda- Make more games w women protagonist or dont - either is ok but don t try to change an existing and iconic characters sex because a few people act like they want it-
there is virtually no accountability in crowdfunding- you are basically giving your money to someone you don t know- with no real strings attached and all the risk is on the person giving their money
additionally- has this guy ever heard of economics? supply and demand?
Games "journalism" just needs to start over - MOST articles are poorly written, ill conceived, poorly researched (if at all), junk - But this article has so many problems, it would take more space than allowed to point it all out- for ex. the only group of people to benefit from the gaming industry are people who play games? seriously? tell that to the people who earn a living directly and indirectly working in the industry
My point still stands- A company should be able to hire who they want- if it s a publicly traded company then major stockholders will have varying amounts of influence but 99.9% of the time they will use their influence to protect and enhance their investment - sometimes by getting a board member on the BOD
a company, any company should be able to hire anyone they want for better or worse-
For all you know I could be Mega Man himself- and I am saying that as Inafunue s Mom, you should be embarrassed by his sorry actions, using my "legendary" name to scam gullible gamers into giving your Son money to pocket and fund other projects while releasing a junk game like Mighty Number 9-
Inafunue is a scammer plain and simple- the word is out and only shills as well as people who can t except they were ripped off think otherwise (and of course his Mom)
...
he is a legendary con man - not a legendary game dev- otherwise he would not have released dreck like Mighty Number 9
As his Mom you must be very embarrassed to have brought him into ths world - I hope he was an only child.
I have not seen were Inefune has denied this comment- I think the interpreter is just covering for the guy
i sure hope they do support the game pad,, particularly off tv play, but it seems like they are distancing themselves from it- see Anuma s comments about taking the game pad function out of the wii u version of Zelda
