I m not a fan of Iwata as it relates to executing their business strategy and the 2 botched launches on are on him- but I own a Wii U and I agree w the article 100% if they are going to back the Wii U they need to keep Iwata for now- This was actually the best, most intelligently written article on Nintendo s situation I have read so far-

I would like to see some release dates for the games we are supposed to get in 2014- Nintendo has been great at insinuating various games are coming and letting others make the leap to: " the games ARE coming" just to delay them indefinitely
How can people who work in the gaming industry as journalist not understand the basic financial position of a PUBLICLY traded company such as Nintendo- Yes the Wi U is doing horribly and I have been saying that for a while- But Nintendo has a rock solid balance sheet and is in no immediate danger- their financials as a company incredibly good
Although if Nintendo makes the effort to support the Wii U it can finish its lifespan in better condition than it is now, it has done...
Unlike many I think Patcher makes some decent assesments of the games market on occasion....BUT tis is the dumbest idea I have heard re advice to Nintendo- there are so many flaws in doing what he says it is insane-
I hope Nintendo makes some strong statements (and takes some strong actions) of support for the Wii U ASAP
They need to announce some release dates for at least a few of their games slated for 2014 too-
right now most anyone thinking of buying a Wi U is going to wait and see what happens- to see if Nintendo is going to support the Wii U- in all honesty they have not supported it to much since release-

My 8 yr old and his friends ONLY play the anti co-op way- At first I thought it would cause arguments between them- then I realized they were having a blast knocking each other off- They did compete for the crown - trying to steal it from each other in SM3DW - but had fun doing so

The PS3 ha now sold a fair amount more copies than the Wii U- the XB 360 has sold nearly as many as the Wii U- I hated the delay as a Wii U owner but Ubisoft made the right business decision no doubt
It took the Wii U 13.25 months that included 2 holiday sales seasons to sell 5 million
Had they let the marketplace know they were going to be significantly delaying many of their launch games before the Wii U went to market their sales would have been even less-
This is a Pro Wii U article- offering encouragement and a scenario that may get traction for the Wii U- How and/or Why is this article pointless?
FYI: Nintendo is losing money on an operating basis- They have billions in cash so Nintenod is in no danger but The Wii U has been a disaster for them so far and they have lost A TON of market share that is not so easy to get back

The article (below in quotes) says the following games are coming out next year on the Wii U but I am only aware of Donkey Kong TF, Mario Kart 8 and Wii Fit U being confirmed for 2014 so far- Has there been any confirmation from Nintendo that any of the other games mentioned are def being released in 2014?

I ve never played a Dr Mario game or Candy Crush- but I have seen people playing candy crush and watched the trailed for Dr Luigi- Is it me or does the Dr Luigi game look lie a much deeper version of Candy Crush?

With these huge patches and issues on games like battlefield, Sims etc. why aren t people waiting till these games come out first- then purchasing after the problems are fixed? The developers would be more hesitant to release incomplete or broken games if the market waited on them to get their act together 1st-
