Iwata said the gamepadvwas was weak due to poor recognition and not enough games that make use of it - he did not say the gamepad itself is the problem or that it was weak.
These headlines and " translation " are misleading at best
No doubt DKTF was ready this holiday but they held it till feb because they had nothing else
Iwata says Mario kart won t be a 1 shot momentum play so he is saying the same truing about may 2014 as they said about 2 nd half of last year, which became holiday 2013 .... That they would put out consistent quality software but they are still not able to do so - unreal. How could they have been so unprepared?
It seems our 1st 5/6 months this year will look like last year - any games coming out in January?
DKTF in Feb .... Then Mario Kart in May.... Ok anything else? We hade Mario word in Nov then essentially nothing till Dk in feb ( yet another platformer). Last year 1st half release schedule was actually better
Honestly the other articles headline was out of context at best and incorrect at worst- however - they managed to have the effect intended
IMO many of Dual sHockers articles are well written but most of their headlines are very much on the level of used car salesman - basically cheap click bait - unfortunately it works too often for them and others
The Wii u did not have games but it did not stop them from releasing it
FYI Iwata s salary cut will last for 4 or 5 months - it is all show - I would rather here specifics of a plan to save the Wii u
I can answer that question Chickey- because those games have not been released yet- we have no release date, month or year from Nintendo re when those games will come out - at this point it would not be surprising if some of those amens never come out on the Wii u

It is a disaster on many levels and Iwata has not indicated what he plans to do about the many problems he himself as acknowledged
He is either grossly incompetent or intentionally running the company s value into the ground for some unknown alterior motive -
Does this mean they will keep games like bayonets and X off the Wii u now because they do not align w children? Iwata makes all these open ended statements but they have nothing behind them - what does this mean Iwata - we know wii u is doing bad- what are u going to do about it? He talks in generalities and open ended statements
Apparently they still don t have the software to help - yet why in the world have they not spent some money to get some games in the Wii u lineup

Wii u has sold 5.6 million not 5.86 million - The 5.86 figure is " hipped " not sold
The vita is outselling the Wii u so no need to bring it into the conversation

Many people have bought systems for Monster Hunter games- also a "system seller" is often a game that helps someone" pull the trigger " on a purchase
Many people have said they will buy a Wii u when X, or Smash or Kart or Zelda etc.... Is released - does not necessarily mean its the only game they will buy and play but it is the game that compelled them to buy the console- otherwise we would never see sales Spikes on any system when certain big games...
Like I said - The Wii U has both types of games, Mario and platformers!
IMO they chose to make DKTF instead of a 3D Metroid because of time and money - a 3d Metroid would cost more and take longer - So far Nintendo has given less than its best effort to those of us that invested In The Wii U- it's very disappointing -

Iwata even said (a couple months+/- ago) they need to do more w the VC console/library- yet nothing more has been done- if anything the release of games has slowed from 2 or 3 a week to 1 a week

Re Iwata saving the day: Could it be he has Munchhausen syndrome? ..... He nearly kills the patient then tries to save the patient- if he succeeds he looks like a hero- if he does not he is a murderer (figuratively speaking as it relates to Iwata and Nintendo)
