"weird how there was no inflation from 2001 to 2020 in video games"
Did you forget that PS2 and Xbox games were $50 and then jumped to $60 when the PS3 and 360 launched in 2005 and 2006?
"This is stupid, why in the world would the games start costing more when you are not doing more,"
It's called inflation.
Do you know how much a soda cost 20 years ago? 10? Are we getting more soda for the higher price? Replace soda with practically any other food item.
Do you get raises every year at work? Are you doing more and more each year or
Yeah, I was wondering where those two games were. Did they get delayed or just not have a confirmed release date yet?
Sony said they'll give notice before pre-orders become available, kind of like MS is doing for the Series.
@AnnaDea
Isn't the rumor that's what Santa Monica's 2nd team is working on?
Waiting for Micro-LED displays. Until then, 1080p on my nice LCD works just fine instead of dropping money on a cheap 4k.
Sure, the PS4 Pro can run current gen games at 1440 and 30 fps, so the S doing 1440p and 60 fps for last gen games seems completely doable. Next gen graphics games though?
@cigi
First off, who's talking about One x? I'm talking about Series S and X.
Gears 5 is a current-gen game. If next-gen games on the Series X are supposed to be 4k with 12 TF, it seems odd that Series S is doing only half the pixels with a 3rd of the power.
Yeah, I'm curious to see how a GPU with a 3rd of the power of the X is going to push half the pixels. You'd think there has to be some other compromise.
12 seconds to level load Outer Worlds and 5 to switch over to Minecraft.
nope.
General bug fixes and improvements
Now can the game of chicken end or is Sony going to try and keep it going for no reason?
@spicelicka
So those 3rd party developers will need to scale down games meant for next-gen to run on this under-powered system.
Another *adjective* *noun* ever!
Will they ever stop with this nonsense?
All this over a, probably, less than one second splash of an ad during a transition between replays? It seems authentic to watching a real UFC fight. Where's all the outrage over all the other ads that are there constantly in the octagon?
Already?
You must not have played any Telltale games.
Maybe I missed it, but where is the mention that these are going to be PS5 enhanced?
