I'm going to save Cyberpunk for the upgrade.
Right. I have been doing 6-7 day weeks since May and most days at least 10 hours. I had two days off scheduled in June, but we were in a tough spot so I did half days instead. Just this week I'm finally getting some time off. Sometimes shit happens and you need to put in more work. This isn't new to game developers.
" it's only for 2 months unitl the game ships in Novmeber."
The reality is that it has to go gold before launch so hopefully the crunch will be over by then.
Except my point was that it's quite a bit slower than what they showed before. If the PS5 has a similar feature or not is relevant.
That quick resume switching isn't looking as fast as it did previously.
18 seconds to switch over to Modern Warfare Warzone. 12 seconds for Xbox 360 version of GTA IV and about the same for Doom Eternal. Richard even pointed out that it seems significantly slower than he saw when he was in the MS offices. Still, it's a pretty cool feature.
22 seconds to load Ballad of Gay Tony from the start compared to 55 seconds for One X and 65 for 360.
Sounds like Series X GPU runs in a compatibility mode and doesn't use any new power to boost BC games, so the improvements we get are just from the CPU. Sounds like MS will enhance select games further, but I don't think there was anything further said about that.
That's probably because so far there might be only 1 drive, that was just announced, that might meet the requirements to work for the PS5. They did say it'll probably be after launch until they're able to confirm any drives.
Sony doesn't make "their" drives, so they have nothing to announce.
Their service is legendarily atrocious.
My favorite was when this complete douchebag openly mocked me for having a PS3 and asked if I was going to pre-order MGS4 on PS3 or Xbox 360.
Agreed. And personally, Gamestop's has consistently been the absolute worst for me.
I don't think I've listened to a podcast or video discussion of significant length yet where someone hasn't stumbled over the name at least once. Most of the time they catch themselves, but other times they don't and someone else will point it out. "wait, huh? What did I say? I thought that's what I said."
To make it all dumber, Nintendo already went through this naming mistake pretty recently. You'd think MS would have paid attention.
And the ones who do already own and Xbox One will be happy to get another one?
@darthv72
I don't think that's very comforting to kids who already have an Xbox One and are just going to get another one because of the confusion.
"Sure, quality is important. But if you imagine the extreme, it's easier to make the point: if MS made all the best 3rd party games out there exclusive to Xbox,"
If MS made all the best 3rd party games exclusive to Xbox, that's quality over quantity.
If it was, yes MS would win for sure. Thing is, shouldn't it be quality over quantity? Sure, MS has more studios now, but how do they stack up in terms of quality? I still think Sony is ahead there.
Bethesda did it to themselves. I don't think MS could do worse. Hoping it'll get better.
I think MS offered them a ton of money and were told no. MS asked what it would take so ZeniMax came out with a stupid high number and MS said, "OK." I mean, this is almost double what Disney paid for LucasFilm.
Makes me wonder what sort of Keanu easter eggs will be in the game.
