There will be plenty of time to play the FULL version of the game. Why waste time playing an incomplete game- even if it is Halo.

The point of the Beta is to "whet your appetite" for Halo 3, as well as to give the developer an idea on what to shoot for by release, and in addition to fix any bugs that are present.

The Beta should not be any longer than it is, because that timeframe will give the developers all the information they need. The only reason ...

it seems like EVERYONE is having slow DL speeds.

lets just hope this demo is worth it. I cant play yet (work till 4 EST)

In reference to point #3:
I really dont think Wi-Fi is that much of a necessity, at least for me.

I have my modem, router, entertainment center, TV, and Xbox all in the same general location (in fact the router is about 3-5 feet from my Xbox).

For me, there really is no need for their to be integrated wireless. I'm still not a fan of wireless either- wired is always better.

Now, I can understand the argument if I lived with my parents, and...

I have it on the PC, and i'll be getting it on the 360 as well... although the PC version is a lot better (gotta love hotkeys!!)

It would be nice to have a trade-in deal. However I wouldnt be doing it. My plan is this:

1) Wait for the 65NM chip
2) Buy the Elite w/ the 65NM chip
3) Buy a 20in. Hi-Def TV
4) Give my girlfriend my current Xbox and the 20in. TV
5) Enjoy my 120GB hdd, the blackness of my 360, and the crisp HDMI on my 42" 1080p TV!

If this game surpasses the greatness that is Oblivion or the Elder Scrolls series, then I will be very impressed.

We learned with Gears of War that great visuals do not always make a great game. Sure this game may top Oblivion in the graphics department, but can it hold up in gameplay.

I was new to the Elder Scrolls series with Oblivion, and it is one of my all-time favorite games. Bethesda knows how to make a great game! Again, this game looks promising, but I ...

This was a great game, but the multi-player was flawed to begin with. The lack of a good party system, or the allowing of friends in ranked play. Other games, last-gen, and next allow for friends in ranked play... why not Gears?

Things started to go downhill with the first update that "fixed" a few things, but in reality only made everything else worse. We all got used to it, and found ways around it, then came update #2! With this update, even more things got messed ...

Apparently I have the "faulty" guitar, and I downloaded the patch prior to reading this article yesterday (before it exploded into a flame war b/c stupid fanboys from both sides cant shut up).

I do not have a problem with my guitar, or with the patch.

On a side note: Why does an article such as this turn into such a flame war when people are just trying to inform others that an update to fix something only messed something else up? Keep the fanboyism to...

good read, very good read.

only thing that has me worried is the game's i'll be playing when i have kids myself. i dont want my kids to see gears of war, or to think that's it's ok to cuss and shoot stuff.

i do it too much myself, and i'll be having kids soon enough. i think i can handle it though, i'm not a psycho or a fanboy, and i know what's right and wrong... still i'm worried about all the other media that will get thrown at my kids

it's not that $4 is a lot, because it isnt. it's because the game is 2 years old, and the fact that other companies are nickel and diming users via the marketplace has got many people weary of paying for every little thing.

i havent been playing the game much, despite the fact i'm a halo fan. halo 2 got old after a year of non-stop play, and now there are other games taking up my time.

for the record, i have a great job, and i make good enough money for my situa...

i dont care if it's halo. i think they should release the maps free to say "thanks" for over 2 years of 200,000+ users playing their game... and an outdated "last-gen" version at that.... but that's just my opinion.

i'm not knocking halo, i love the series... more than most people, i just like to keep an open mind.

although i dont agree with the approach that you used fulconer... Linux in fact does beat Vista in every respect. Windows lost it's power when it became too big for it's britches, and stopped listening to it's consumers (around the time of WinXP).

The fact that Linux has so many great apps for free is what makes it great. Beryl, and the cube desktop is one of my favorites... that and how easily the OS is to use, and the freedom that comes with it. I'm still not used to OpenOff...

looks very good, very detailed, and very action packed. i cant wait to get my hands on this "next-gen" version of Halo. although i dont like the idea of the X button feature (bubble shield mainly), as it doesnt seem halo-esque to me, and nothing near revolutionary...

all the gameplay looks great, and like an action packed, non-stop piece of film... i really cant wait

I didnt even know there was a bug in the expansion. Good to hear that they're on top of it though!

Very true. Epic wanted it to be released on the 9th, but it has to pass Microsoft's certification BS.

I wonder how many people would kill Bill Gates when the MS Certification Patch "eliminates" all the nice stuff Epic had in it, or charges an off-the-wall price!

i give him credit... he's saying what everyone in their right mind is thinking. all this bs of "mine's better" "yours sucks" is ridiculous, tiring, and annoying.

he gets major credit, although he did present it in a slightly unorthodox manner.

why dont you people read into what he's saying... he does make some valid points, or are you blinded by your fanboism (on either side of the fence).

i'm no supporter of the ps3, or any of...

If Microsoft offers them a buyout plan that is worth a lot more than you can dream, and promises that capcom will make more than what they're currently making- then a buy is not hard to foresee.

Any company is capable of buying another- it's all about money, and how well you convince the other, smaller weaker company to succumb to your needs

weekly updates are a double edged sword:
reason 1: they let fans know what's going on with their current project, increase the hype machine, and show fans that they're not monkeying around
reason 2: it is a weekly activity report that a lot of employees at companies have to fill out (in this case, it is a weekly company-wide status report).

so in summary, fans get an update, and supervisors, and corp managers have an idea where they're headed
