Definitely agree about the movement and combat being clunky. Circling around loot by accident is always fun, and swimming is laughable.
Also for a game that is so reliant on menu's, I wish performance was a little better. Flipping between Tabs (be it inventory, or Maps --> Quests, etc) has enough of a delay to bug me personally on PS4.
For such a massive game its amazing how well it does so many things, but perfection... not so much.
True, guess I could have listed PC as well. PC does have the benefit of modding down the line though/people have definitely done cool things with the fallout games on PC. Consoles - we really just have to hope they do it right the first time.
Unfortunately its probably due to leaks - sure they would have loved to save the announcement for E3, but by then something surely would have been leaked.

Witcher 3 is good, but I would definitely put Fallout 3, New Vegas, Oblivion and Skyrim before it for modern RPG's. Witcher 3 just game out, and I think there is still some heavy recency bias going around.
Even if it the gameplay isn't similar to Skyrim, Im enough of an MMO junkie where I will probably still enjoy it although I guess time will tell.
Wonder what the trade off will be then. Pop-in when loading new areas?

Completely agree with the author. While playing through The Witcher 3 (probably about 50 hours or so - certainly enjoying it), I've realized that it has made me miss Skyrim - and now really can't wait to pickup ESO next week.
Luckily wont really impact me - my consoles/PC are always online anyway.
Id be more curious as to WHAT the online connection is needed for. Assuming its just for logging in/verification then I could care less, but if it has to actually use significant data just to play single player that would be kind of annoying.
I consider myself a completionist - seeing question marks on the map bugs the hell out of me. That said, at roughly 20 hours in I feel like I have hardly made a dent... definitely going to get my money's worth on this game

Ill admit I bought a vita at launch mostly out of nostalgia from my old gameboy. Its a cool device but overall it has been collecting dust - found that I use emulators on my phone more when traveling
I hope they found a good balance with the font size - guess ill find out this evening. I prefer smaller font/UI but it was definitely a bit too hard to read before. Would be really cool if they could make it adjustable in an options menu
Fantastic news! Absolutely loved the game, but after I beat it, played a little of NG+ and some dungeons for a while - finally moved on. Would love to pick it back up again for some new content.

If the game looks like garbage, I wont buy it. But im not an idiot who believes that pre-release trailers actually represent completely undoctored game footage. Im shocked that these "degradation" videos still shock people.

Fine - switching to 20fps. 19 or 20, the fact that they are capping it in such a way sucks. 20 fps is NOT great
Xbox One has the slight edge in performance. PS4 has slight edge in visuals. Fortunately it looks like the PS4 takes the biggest drops during cutscenes (19fps) instead of gameplay, as odd as that seems.
I still have both my PS3 and PS4 hooked up, because some of the classic games on PSN are just too good to pass up for PS3.
Would LOVE if there was a big push to get some of these games on PS4, so I could finally retire my PS3 - but I guess thats just a nice to have imo.
I wish they would drop the price on controllers. Would love to get a second one, but damn they are expensive.
