^ It's a play on words (sort of).
R3 = Resistance 3
R6 = Rainbow 6
"They'd love for their consumers to switch to digital distribution, bypassing the need for GameStop, which would eliminate the used game market overnight... But they're not willing to give us an inch on the pricing in order to coerce us into going along with them."
That should give you an indication of their intentions.
When you discover something that seems contradictory, it is always best to re-consider if your own theory is correct. In this case, ...
... It's not a cockpit simulator.
Psst, the article had two pages.
EDIT: I'm much happier now. =)
Though you do realize that naming problems with each game isn't going to do much, right? It's a list about the best games released thus far.
Do you know any game that should've been on the list?
Shogun2 always gets over-looked. =(
There's other digital retailers that still sell BF3.
Most pc buyers know that D2D is typically the best place to pre-order from digitally since they usually offer discounts on new games (BF3 can be pre-ordered for up to 30% off if you use coupons on D2D).
Steam is only sought after by people who want all their games with one service, or those that want TF2 hats... when a game is announced to require steamworks, then many people including myself try to buy from oth...
Creating stuff would'nt be all that different.
... but I bet it would make life hell for the animators and programmers to ensure that it isn't all just pretty static pictures.
... Dangling a carrot in front of someone is necessary when you want someone to do something that they wouldn't otherwise do. (Such as leading a rat down a maze)
If a game is fun and enjoyable, then why would such a thing be necessary? It's kind of depressing that people would buy a game where the developpers purposely lock things away, and then play the game with the major source of enjoyment coming from 'unlocking' those same locked items.
A...
No mention of RedOrchestra2 and NuclearDawn?
They're open for pre-orders now and beta info was released as well.
That, and well, Bastion's announcement and Limbo's (late) release... along with Doom3's source code announcement.
^ Damned if I know.
I'm poor and relegate myself to the cheap stuff. =(
Mouse and Keyboard lack pressure sensitivity... which is probably where controllers get the edge.
@limewax
Most PC setups have the mouse control camera with the WASD movements being relative to the camera.
So it sort of gives more movement options... or well, an equal amount of freedom in most cases.
All falls apart when the camera gets fixed though.
Dear God no.
Why is it that I can only gain access to the majority of the game's content after waddling around with horrible starter gear?
I still don't know why BC2 doesn't even give you the basic necessities of each class when you're new. It's just 'which weapon do you like best'.
By all means, unlocks are fine, but don't make me grind through the lower levels without being able to fully contribute to the tea...
"Crappy keypads and touch-only suck.
No, your phone can't double as a console. It doesn't have the games or controls."
They aren't saying that consoles are obsolete right now because there are issues with mobile gaming (which the article also honestly states).
However, if they improve the controls (which they already knew is an issue and working to improve them), as well as allow for external controller support for home usage, th...
"Gotta get some lesser known gems."
Confirmed hipster. :D
To look cooler when you play TF2.
You kinda just summarized one of the article's paragraphs.
"One of the changed realities we face this decade is the slow realization that tablets and smartphones are PCs. Step by step, they are moving into areas where PCs and PC derivatives like gaming consoles and media centers used to be."
Though I wouldn't say consoles doing online gaming was a bad thing. Otherwise, they'd be even inferior than they are now (although, we might've...
... but it's what they're trying to do.
If my phone can double as a console, what's the problem? Devs will just make games for it instead, and I might ultimately save some money.
EDIT: What reasons did you say?
They're working on improving controls... whereas I don't think depth, content, and quality are related to hardware as long as the hardware itself has the necessary specs.
You don't know much about the indie scene on PC do you?
"So I'll call it how I see it: FANYBOY. YOU."
... a fanboy of what exactly? O.o
Simply liking a genre doesn't mean you'd be interested in every single game of the genre. I like FPS games, doesn't mean I'm interested in all of them because even each genre is quite diverse.
There's a world of difference between Quake and ARMA, and despite never playing an ARMA game, I know it doesn't interest me just by looking at i...
"How many console gamers have you ever seen react this way to retailer selection? Not nearly as much as these sad eltists."
... how many console gamers have ever faced a retailer selection? O.o
As for complaining about visuals, any time a PS3/360 comparison of a multiplat comes up, things get heated just over trivial differences.
While the PC whiners were complaining about Crysis2's lack of DX11, the console whiners were complaining abou...
