It's why a 13" laptop will cost a boatload more than a desktop.

Considering the amount of work the devs put in trying to create a realistic experience (although not at the level of ARMA), I wouldn't call it casual.
It requires patience, co-operation, and skill.
I prefer faster-paced game myself (it's unfortunate that games like Quake and UTK aren't developped much nowadays) but calling RedOrchestra 'casual' is just plain bonkers.

A game with linear story doesn't necessarily mean that it has linear gameplay.
Take the sandbox games for example, GTA and JustCause2 or even story-driven games like MGS4 all have linear stories, yet how you accomplish the given tasks ...

I mostly game on PC, and I'm not really in a hurry to see the next generation. (I'm perfectly happy with modern visuals, a bit more ram wouldn't hurt though)
... however, the people who want the next-gen to come are arguing that the current gen has dragged on for long enough (i.e. it is being slowed down)
So, they aren't trying to speed up the next-gen but are rather trying to move on in the natural order of things.

EDIT: BC2 never got any private servers. EA's conservative approach to server management seems to be working.
Also, I believe Steam's TOS was recently changed and doesn't apply to older games. Games like MassEffect2 are still on steam, however, newer games that use a similar system won't be accepted.

Sony are Microsoft aren't really at war. Or well, not at the same level as EA/Activision.
MS/Sony have competing consoles, but they also collaborate with one another in other domains.
The actual revenue from the games tells an interesting story.
Terraria & Magicka have more sales, but BlackOps made more dough than those two games combined.
Of course, these are estimates anyways, but still goes to show that sale numbers aren't everything.
